These days, women no longer need support from a man for survival. This loss of necessity has stripped men of being able to offer anything of value (to women) in a relationship. If a woman is interested in a man now it's now solely for recreation. She's with him because she enjoys his company.

Men still find great value in relationships with women beyond just companionship. This leaves women feeling interchangeable as what men value can be fulfilled by any woman, unlike her companionship.

Because he has nothing to offer however, any requests/demands will result in a dynamic where he extracts value while contributing none. Because of this, women are wary of men that would expect compliance with a parasitic relationship.

It's now within a woman's best interest to favor men that will either willingly offer what women value in exchange for what they value, or will accept what they receive for what they're willing to offer (betas).

Unfortunately, because of the nature of the type of duties they'd need to adopt ("women's work"), men are rejecting the notion altogether. Instead, men have chosen to omit reality in refusing to recognize their reduced usefulness. The result is TRP, a strategy based on protecting men from the bruise to the ego they'd feel by doing such work. Their solution is a weaving of an elaborate narrative that paints themselves as victims of oppression.

Thoughts?

Edit: I see a few comments arguing that women can't realistically achieve a middle-class income without a man. I should clarify, I'm not talking about equality of outcome. The careers needed to achieve a middle-class lifestyle aren't automatically denied to women as they've been in the past.
