It has a huge impact. There is a a great statically relevant study that found the "ideal" height difference for maximal chance of a woman being attracted to a man is a 5"-6" height difference. Meaning, if she is 5'2" , the ideal would put the man at 5'8". The findings were very eye opening, easy to find if you google it.

Height is "kind of" a big deal.

Im 6'1" and have enjoyed the benefits of being tall for sure. It makes approach and interactions a bit easier. It certainly helps my confidence too.

But there are guys, especially when i was younger who were shorter but had better game and were more naturally charismatic who pulled more than i ever did.

I agree with the OP, that height is only one factor. Personally i dont think anything beats game.

But that being said , there is a difference with being around 5'8" to 5'10" and being legit shorter than most girls.

At 5'8" and higher you are still taller than most girls and can easily even the field or even take the lead with your charisma and game.

If you are shorter than most girls, you have no choice but to compensate in other areas, including your personality. You can do this in a couple ways but remaining average will make things hard.

It’s Complicated.

Even though women‘s empowerment has never been more pronounced than today, most women still need a man to be large/dominant over her in order for her to feel feminine and for the relationship be accepted by peers and family. This comes from societal programming (men should be big, women should be small.)

But not all women. Some women feel comfortable in their own skin and do not need a man for her to feel feminine, and do not need to abide by societal norms (male taller norms). These women can date men of any size and thus can focus on his other qualities.

But this research shows just how engrained society’s male taller norms really are. Table A3 of this study shows approx. 85% of women would not accept 5’6” men. Keeping in mind the average height of American women is 5’4”.

Of course, average height is relative to your locale. 5’6” men are quite common in parts of South America and Asia. Thus there is less social pressure to partner with “tall” men.

Bottom Line: A lot of short men find themselves at a disadvantage in dating, not because they aren’t worthy of a partner but because of societal norms.

I think I told this story before but even if a girl is in love with you and pines from affar she still needs the bells and whistles, I was super stressed before finals on my senior year and wanted to date a friend that was super into me, but blurted it out if she wanted to see a movie... she had plans and said no but immediately regretted it, she hinted constantly about seeing the movie afterwards but it was already too late due to finals and graduation.

It really was illuminating, no is just the default answer for women, while for men the default answer is maybe.

I think it would be naïve to believe it has no impact. Sure, it's not the be all and end all, but just by looking at statistics and listening to women, tallness is definitely considered an attractive trait for a lot of women. Conversely, being short is a deal-breaker for a lot of women.

If you're anywhere between 5'8-5'11, you'll do perfectly fine and frankly it would be ridiculous to genuinely whine that you're not 6 foot. 5'7 and below then you're more likely to encounter some hardship.

I’m 5’8” and have dated two women long term who were 5’6” (married 10+ years to one of them now). I agree that height is just one of many factors, but it’s very difficult for a taller woman to become attracted to a guy who is shorter than her, I think. I’m sure it happens, though. It just never happened to me or anyone whom I know. Women are on average 5 inches shorter than men, though, so this really shouldn’t be too much of an issue when it comes to dating, although the pool of people for a shorter man or a taller woman who might desire a taller man will be much smaller.

Nah women desiring taller men is a way for them to signal that they're hotter than they are. The hottest women don't care. Ugly women have high demands for height cause it makes them feel better about themselves, that they can "afford" to have such demands.

Reality is that average / ugly people of all types are the most rude and demanding.

Being tall is attractive but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Being over 6’ will make things easier, but it isn’t hopeless if you’re under 6’.

I think most girls just want someone taller than them. There are some girls who are hung up on the 6’ thing, but there are so many girls who aren’t that it’s pointless to worry about it.

I’m basing this off of my opinions alone, but I think being under 5’6 and over 6’4 will both make it hard to find someone, but at the same time those are such a small percentage of the population.

Also, put it this way, you see the statistic that says the ideal height difference is 8 inches. That is what women would consider their ideal, however the average height difference between couples is 5 inches which aligns perfectly with the difference in average heights between women and men which is 5’4 and 5’9 respectively.

So just work on being the best version of yourself and don’t get hung up on things you can’t change

Height is quite literally EVERYTHING and any woman who tells you differently is virtue signaling….plain and simple.

I personally don’t know any guys who are under 5’10” that have ever been in quality relationships…

If they aren’t flat out rejected for being too short, they’re usually getting friendzoned or end up settling for super low quality women (obese, drug addicts, mentally retarded, unemployed, single mothers looking for a personal ATM etc….)

As a 5’6” guy (who looks even shorter do to being barrel chested and having super short legs) I’ve lost count of the pure, unadulterated hatred thrown at me by women, regardless of their own height…And it’s never “no thanks, not interested” no……It’s more of an “Eat Shit And Die” followed by getting fired by some nazi feminist superior for “sexual harassment” type deal for me (because it’s only sexual harassment if she isn’t attracted to you…..And simply being in the same room as a women can be considered sexual harassment if you’re short)

In HS and College, if I had a dollar for every gorgeous woman who was dating or sleeping with some 6’4” drug addict/abuser/zero, I probably wouldn’t have any college debt.

In my opinion, the most beneficial thing a shorter guy can do is buy prostitutes because ALL men ends up paying for sex…..Some pay for it up front, but the more tall and attractive guys end up paying for it when they’re in their late 40’s stuck with a fat, nagging wife and paying for multiple children that they probably never even wanted in the first place.

I think height has a huge impact on online dating. When you don’t know someone it’s easy to just swipe left in someone if they don’t meet some trivial standard. For example on a dating app I would probably swipe left on a guy under 5’9.

My bf is 5’7. I met him in person and we hit it off. He has multiple friends shorter than him who also have girlfriends. They also met their people in person as well.

As a woman, I think most of us just want a guy to be taller than us. My fiance is 5'7 but I'm 5'4 so IDGAF. It can be a bonus, like big boobs in a woman, but it's not a deal breaker. A lot of it is attitude. Few things are as unattractive as "little man syndrome" where they act all tough and try to compensate for it. My fiance is just a chill, confident guy and I didn't even notice his height when he asked me out.

It is one variable that can make or break you in terms of dating success depending on your other qualities. If you’re over 6ft it’s a great benefit provided you’re in decent shape, hygienic and not awkward.

If you’re under 6ft it doesn’t matter as long as you’re not shorter than 5’8 it doesn’t really impact you one way or another.

If you’re under 5’8 you have to have a lot of desirable traits to compensate. So being above average in terms of facial attractiveness and fitness, stellar charisma, or stellar earnings and status etc. If you don’t have at least 1-2 desirable traits that are well above average it’s going to be harder for you than other men.

This is what I think

Above 6’5”: can’t use your height as a flex, will probably start to be too tall for a good amount of girls(unless professional athlete or with girls who are 6’ or taller)

6’-6’5”: ideal height for most girls, as long as you don’t look like 2 nfl olineman put together or you don’t have a below 4/10 face, you’ll have a decent amount of girls wanting you

5’8”-5’11”: you won’t get brownie points for your height, but as long as you don’t look like a gremlin and put in work, you’ll be fine

5’4”-5’7”: you will be at a disadvantage, especially in online dating, but if you have some muscle mass and low body fat plus as good of a face as you can, you will still be able to attract some girls. And no, they won’t only be fat girls, a lot of girls are more accepting of this height range than you think.

Below 5’4”: ngl, kinda screwed here, you’ll have to have a good face and body, plus money

I don't think many people understand the diminishing returns when it comes to height and physical attraction. For a man, height is pretty important up to the average range(5'9"-5'11"). Once you're in that average range, other factors are way more important like face or physique because many women have a height threshold ex: "guy has to be a few inches taller than the girl" but once you're above that threshold(generally if you hit 5'9", you're above most of the thresholds), height suddenly matters a lot less and other factors matter a lot more.
