Men and women, by nature and by design, are different. At best, we can compliment each other. At worst, we want to kill each other or just have nothing to do with one another.

Most men probably like some of what women are about and probably dislike other things. Comedians joke about it, and we laugh. It's funny because it's true, of course. I’m not saying for a second that men as a demographic don’t have more than their fair share of awful behaviours and shortcomings. Having said that, perhaps at least some of the onus can generally be laid at the feet of the same women complaining when they themselves often (note I did not say “always” or “all”) either have, or continue to, reward shitty behaviour with positive sexual attention. Any guy who has altered his views on this space with time and experience will tell you exactly how little acting in the way many women claim they want gets you. The inverse also often applies when men begin to flirt with being more sexually direct - many immediately notice a LARGE difference in strike rate and receptivity. And the vast majority of men of all stripes will readily agree on this point - because it is so ubiquitous and almost universally observed.

With divorce rates and the general tilt in application of relevant laws and decisions, yeah it doesn’t sound good, but it is honest to say that for a great many men, long term relationships are an objectively bad idea when viewed rationally and not blinded by emotion.
