For a little background, I’m a 20M college student finishing up my degree. I’d say I have above average luck with women just based off of the experiences of my peers, but I’m definitely no major chick magnet.

However, what I have noticed during my time at college is that it has been harder for me to find relationships than sex. I haven’t had a serious relationship outside of high school/rekindling old high school relationships in college, and hookups are not for me.

Despite this, any girl I have been involved with has generally been quick to try to fuck me, where sometimes this has happened in intimate situations and I end up declining because I feel uncomfortable, or otherwise meeting girls/going on dates and then they become disinterested when you don’t “put out”.

My experience with OLD and meeting girls at college or at parties is that they are much more eager to have sex than to consider actually dating, which surprised me since typically guys are thought of as more interested in sex and pursuing. I understand that college is probably more ridden with this kind of thing just because of how we are socialized here, but it is kind of jarring to see so many men pining for real relationships and the women just want to fuck around and oftentimes cheat on whatever partner they have.

This raises a few questions for me:

  1. Is this a relatable experience?

  2. Do you think that this signifies a change in dating culture and that this will continue when my generation reaches our late 20s and beyond?

  3. If you are like me and uncomfortable with hookup culture, would you be okay with dating a woman that had engaged in the “college experience” kind of stuff?
