Women support immigration at greater rates which benefits them (through cheaper physical labour) and hurts men (due to making up a much larger portion industries immigrants participate in). The explosion in college debt is driven more by women than men. Fetishization of education as an economic panacea is more commonly pushed by women. Women entering the formal workforce en masse in earlier decades undercut unions. And so on.

But it's a little silly to blame either gender overall. Everyone simply competes for what they believe is in their best material interests according to the system.

Material conditions have actually improved so much you can consistently make a full meal within 30 minutes and you can literally buy a robot to do the vacuuming for you. A big part of the course of domestic work is that tasks that used to take hours have had their time and effort cut down dramatically by modern tools and chemistry.

At the same time though those economic issues have hit men disproportionately hard given men don't get special scholarships just to pursue and education and a lot of workplaces will have gender based hiring quotas. Men may earn more than women in aggregate but when you cut it down to young people working in the same urban area it's become increasingly common for women to make more doing the same work simply because the deck is stacked for them like they haven't had educational parity for over 50 years now.

I want to work - my career is fulfilling. It also allows me to afford the life experiences I want… like hobbies and travel - I’m sat on a plane right now waiting to take off. Working allows me to make my own choices and not be reliant on someone else’s abilities to provide for me. I also can’t imagine having to ask for permission to do something that requires money. I don’t want kids. My partner doesn’t either. I am so grateful to have been born when I was and where I was. So grateful!

Long before families were forced to have two incomes, it was the women's lib that fought for rights to work, and be paid equally for the work.

They won those rights, as they should have. Cost of living crisis was created by the two parties in late 90s when they decided that it was a swell idea to destroy the American middle class and ship the industry to China. Women in the political center and on the left actively supported the politicians who did that. Clinton, Bush and Obama all won majority of women's vote. Bush was an exception in 2000, but that doesn't matter because his opponent also supported this policy.

Now, if women's nature is acting to force them to monkey branch, it is the natural sequence of events in a declining society. The modern man, if memory serves, was a major demand of the modern woman. There were countless TV shows telling men to simp for women, accept sexist disrespect as just fun, and no small measure of "you go girl".

This is what collapsing societies end up doing.

Strong men create good times (1865-1970).
Good times create weak men (1970-1995). Now we know how.
Weak men create hard times (1995-now). This has been going on for about 30 years.
Hard times create good men. I doubt any of us will live to see that happen as hard times usually last a long time. The prevailing culture is creating even more weak men, or people who are even afraid of deciding whether they are men or women. The US is going to be in a very dark place for a long long time to come.

A version of this is supported by existing research. Decrease in traditional middle class "provider" jobs has lead to an increase in unmarried men, and single mothers. Boys/men flag in education too, which makes the effect worse.

I have yet to see anyone mention the role of the Federal Reserve in consistently devaluing the US dollar. A US dollar today in 2022 would have been worth about 4 cents in 1913. Women were likely encouraged to join the work force to offset the erosion of the middle class.

It’s not that we’d rather die alone than settle for the average man. It’s that it’s such a rat race out there, that if men aren’t helping us, they’re harming us (devaluing our labor, our money, etc.). Women are FINE single because we foster and value other social connections. Men aren’t fine alone because they’re so misogynistic and crazy that they often don’t even value women as friends. In response to being alone, men more often unalive themselves.

Modern conditions have made it so that marriage and long term commitment is an OPTION to women. We take that option if we see someone who isn’t going to harm the progress we’ve made for ourselves (in terms of finances or mental health).

I think we should revisit our education system. Prior to the 1970s we used a much more competitive, winner take all, merit based system that boys thrived in. Women did poorly. After 2nd wave feminism we moved to a group style teaching approach, winners and losers both celebrate, less individual accolades. Awarding based on demographics to spread winning etc. Girls have have excelled in this environment boys have not.

I think it's fair to conclude that some kids thrive in a more competitive environments and others in shared success group environments and to try to maximize everyone's education.

Also our social safety net is heavily geared towards protecting women from the consequences of their decisions. Addressing the heavily female centric outcomes of family court would go a long way to letting people make their choices and not leave society paying for them.

But generally speaking women want what they want and I don't think telling them they should want something else is really a solution.

In the west we live in the best conditions in history...here I am in the greatest city in the world on Christmas morning watching some Japanese Anime on an 80" 4k television screen writing this on a $1500 Korean cellphone. Kept warm by oil from who knows where drinking wine from Italy wrapped in silk sheets from pakistan Eating cheese from Wisconsin Strawberries and grapes in the dead of winter.

Guess what I'm not going to be doing,hunting for food in the Forest while avoiding predators going out to chop fire wood and fetch water, defending my home from a band of Barbarians..I won't be dropping dead from some plague,I got every vaccine the gov offers..

If I do go out I'm getting straight into my garged vehicle that's allready running with the heated seats warned up then map will tell me how to get to my destination which probably be to pick up some beer from Mexico or Germany.And when I do get into the cold I will be wrapped in modern fabrics and protected from the elements head to toe.I might grab a pizza too.

I'm not complaining life is good atleast in the west sure I could use a few extra million then I could put in that pool I probably won't use,so maybe go with a jacuzzi and I've been wanting a Lamborgini Truck my neighbor got one two years ago I'm sold..And that reminds let me press a button and order a years supply of toilet paper..

People in the west don't know what hard is hard isn't being confused about your gender offended by a cat call depressed because your DMs are empty if you want to know about hard speak to a migrant on the southern border a Ukranian refugee or some one from a droughtvstriken regen in Africa.

What do you mean by "modern"? When did women stay at home blowing on their nail polish? Yes, back in history they were prevented to go to universities, and end up in office jobs, but when did there - therefore - didn't have to work? Did men do all the house work? Did men wash their own cloths (by hand back then?)? Make their own food? Take care of their kids? Take care of their elderly parents? When was this golden age were women were treated like queens?
