Putting aside the woman's justifications or appropriateness, it's clear that this is popular because it is unusual, not because it is common.

I had a mentally ill or drunk guy who knows approach me recently on a road trip to Nola with my son. I was at a gas station and It was scary ngl. He was very persistent and idk what he wanted. I got myself and my kid into the car and made sure doors were locked and windows up. He started knocking on the windows and everything. I think maybe he needed help or something idk but not worth the risk. Especially with my toddler child and me alone as the adult.

This woman seems pretty hysterical but since we don’t have video of how he “approached” it’s hard to judge. She seems legit petrified.

Crazy people aren’t a new invention. We used to know how to ignore them just fine. Then the crazy people got cell phones and free TiKTok accounts. Now scaredy cats looking for any reason to stay inside allowed the crazies to set the rules for how others should behave.

I’m not scared for society’s future because the crazies and the people who actually listen to them deserve each other. The majority of us will keep doing what we do.

A woman literally shaking because a man approached her is bizarre. But we don’t know the full story - or her background, perhaps she had some trauma in her past surrounding men? We don’t know how he approached her or what he said. Her account sounds kind of crazy though.

Either way, this woman is not indicative of the attitudes of all women and videos like this are not a good representation of reality.

Women also get a lot of messaging through social media algorithms (and the mainstream media unfortunately) about men getting more sexist and also about male violence towards women (newsflash - the media feeds on sensationalist, terrible stories and gives an overly negative picture of the world around us) - reading about how many men agree with the likes of Andrew Tate, how many Incels and “Manosphere” men there are and their scary attitudes towards women. A lot of men here think women are overreacting to take that sort of thing as an indication of how the average man views women. Videos like this are along the same lines - men who take this seriously as an indication of the average woman’s attitudes, are overreacting to what the algorithm feeds them.

I would have been shaking if I were approached but unlikely to shout and certainly not make a a TikTok.

However - since the red pill likes to bring up our natural instincts - you going to go near a momma bear when she’s got her cub with her? Or try to steal a coyote’s puppy? Good luck with that.

We are biologically programmed to be more defensive when caring for our kids.

She is mentally ill.

According to her, the man was 30 feet away, and spoke to her politely. And that was enough to trigger her to start shouting at him. She seems genuinely taken aback that the man's reaction was that of surprise and he started walking away. What else did she expect the man to do?

For all she knows, he was trying to just hand her something she had dropped while walking out of a store.

Only a month ago, I handed over some keys to a lady who had dropped them after leaving a grocery store. I took a risk. In retrospect, I should have just handed those over at the store counter and let her struggle with finding them. Women these days are crazy and unsafe to approach for any reason.

I think the main problem arises in how people imagine the context.

It seems reasonable IF:

The parking lot was completely empty.
It was night time
Sketchy surroundings
The man looked disheveled. Like a homeless person or something.

Although if you think about the context like this it seems unreasonable:

Crowded Area
Broad Daylight
Safe Surroundings
The man looked normally put together.

In a later video she clarfied it was night time, empty parking lot, and the man looked homeless. But at the same time she said said the man was asking for money because he asked other people after she yelled at him. So was the parking lot empty or not?

Lol it was likely some innocuous situation and she over reacted but we may never know and you can't really come to a conclusion of if she over reacted without knowing more context.

What's happening today to men is a moral panic similar to the one in the 80s over alleged daycare abuses. At the time more mothers were working outside of the home resulting in the opening of large numbers of day-care facilities. Anxiety and guilt over leaving young children with strangers created a climate of fear and readiness to believe false accusations. Its pretty similar to historical panics against out-groups like Jews who were accused of kidnapping and killing babies.

Once the daycare panic started workers were accused of outlandish crimes, rape, murder, burying bodies in basements, satanic rituals. None of the charges were proved scientifically, no bodies were found. Psychologists claiming to specialize in this area took the kids and told them they could not go back to their parents until they accused someone of abusing them. Then the mantra of the day became 'children are so innocent that they are incapable of lying'. Everyone knew someone whose kid had been molested at daycare. Prosecutors caved to the panic and charged people with crimes on no evidence except statements from kids and many daycare worker were convicted or took pleas for reduced sentences.

I’ve approached a ton of women, but I don’t do it as much anymore because I feel like most women are broken like this one and will act similarly. The internet as broken inter gender interactions and has made every woman feel like every man is there to hurt or harm them. This tik tok just reinforced that idea, people always say that there is more to dating than online dating but is there? She’s a mom, and postpartum anxiety is intense. I was actually lucky because I had my son right before the pandemic and I didn’t have to go out much at all. Mine manifested as mostly claustrophobia and healthy related anxiety, but every woman is different. She could have had a bad experience in her past that caused her to be triggered like this. My PPA is a lot better now, but it doesn’t fully go away. I still get pangs of intrusive thoughts and panic.

I don’t even think she’s over the top in her reaction, all she did was yell at him to go away. She felt vulnerable and didn’t want to be approached for any reason, big or small.

Boy oh boy. Reading the comments here makes it clear why so many of you are having extreme trouble with women. Even if I were to ignore the reactionary anger and dismissiveness just because the poster of the video happened to be a woman, the lack of social and emotional IQ is astounding.

Let's think about it this way. Imagine that you were in this woman's predicament. You are leaving a store with your children and all of a sudden a 6'7" man, weighing 270 lbs of pure muscle who is obviously juicing steroids and looking like a homeless sketchy dude, runs after you and starts screaming at you.

Sound ridiculous? Not at all! To most women, men are not only taller but they're significantly out weight them and have much bigger and stronger muscles which can quickly overpower you. Hence the example of our basketball player bodybuilder. You come across a guy like this, you will shit your pants too especially if you are with kids and especially if the guy lacks any social and emotional IQ and approaches you in a damn parking lot. People have gotten shot for less.

So think about this and imagine what life could possibly look like for a woman who is usually 2/3 of your size, who is much weaker and lacks the testosterone and other hormones that can make her violent. Yes, the world is much more dangerous for women and there are plenty of examples of women getting assaulted just because they rejected some guy.

If she's with her small child and has previous trauma, I could see this being a reaction. Especially if she's a new parent, the hormones could still be wonky. I dunno, I just assume past trauma is playing a role here.

And, I mean, I admit, parking lots do feel sketchy inherently even in the day time. And, although I think it's a little rough, if you don't want men approaching you, that is a pretty good solution.

I personally don't think I'd have it in me to shout at a strange man like that without slightly more provocation, but, I also don't have a kid, so maybe that would change the dynamic?

If a random male approaches me in a store or a parking lot, especially when they approach with "hey, excuse me miss!" I'm going to assume he's asking for money and I'm immediately going to be very annoyed. I don't have any fears about being approached by a male in a parking lot. They're public and crowded. But i hate being shook down for money, especially since I never have cash and that makes things awkward.

Tics sometimes carry lime disease. Most people do what they can to avoid catching lime disease when they know they might be exposed to tics. Not all tics have lime disease though. So are you taking a risk? You don’t know from looking at a tic if it’s got lime disease, you only find out after it bites you.
