I've had some truly wonderful deep conversations with men who I felt very much understood me but I have also had experiences with men who cried and screamed, punched furniture and rolled on the floor, and most of the time, somewhere in between the two of course. I don't feel this is remotely true for everyone but at times when I've reflected on those situations I've wondered if part of the problem isn't that some men are afraid to talk about how they feel, but more so that some men aren't equipped with any of the communication skills do so because of the taboo nature of it, so that when they finally do, they aren't often heard. After all a person could be opening up about something truly deeply serious but if they opened up about it in a very inappropriate way, the point of what they were saying could be lost in the chaos of the situation.
