In that situation I would definitely feel jealous! I wouldn’t freak out though, I would talk with her one on one and casually ask what she thinks of the guy I like and get a feel for the vibe. If shes into him I would step back and let her go for it. I’m not trying to compete over a crush. But if she’s not into him I wouldnt overthink them laughing together and not care as much

First off: "jealous rage" ... LMAO. There are a few things wrong with this scenario. I don't shit where I eat (getting involved with a coworker is a no). If that's who he picks over me, then that's his choice. You can't force someone to be with you, no matter how much you might want that scenario. So, what would the purpose of getting upset about it be? Just wasted energy.

It’s not a question of “better than”. I am a unique person and insist on being with someone who appreciates me and syncs with me. If this guy is going after another woman because she’s prettier, fitter, whatever criteria you’re using, then he’s not for me.

“Jealous rage” - no. In your scenario I might feel upset, but even as a teenager my logic was that he either liked me or not, and I couldn’t force him to be into me. The other girl didn’t really matter - if he was the right person for me, he wouldn’t have eyes for her.

No. I've never been in a jealous rage in my life, it's just not a way I ever spend my energy.

People like who they like. If I like someone and there's someone else they like better it's no skin off my nose, regardless of how attractive the other person is. I also wouldn't assume that just because people are laughing and chatting means they're into one another - this is actually how normal people interact with each other, believe it or not.

I wouldn't waste my emotions feeling jealous over a flirt lol. If we were in a committed relationship that's a different story but i don't committ to men who are easily swayed by the attention of a more conventionally attractive woman. If he's with me he values other things than beauty.

No? If I felt any negative feelings toward anyone, it would probably be the guy for rejecting me for her (if he does end up rejecting me), and even then, it wouldn't be rage, just disappointment.

Even the premise of this hypothetical is unreasonable to me. I'd never fall for my coworker. Or any person that I'm not already dating/in a relationship with. If I was interested in a coworker it would just be interest. Nothing enough to cause any type of jealousy. I love beautiful women which is why I surround myself with them. I'm not jealous or beautiful women if anything I admire them. If a man chooses to be with a different woman than me despite ny interest in him I would feel it's for the best. He's allowed to choose whoever he likes.

I like my solitude and would rather be attractive to another woman anyway. I can look quite masculine and its a nice look on me. Feminine too, and its cute! I know Im good looking either way and its because I like my own features. Thats all who should matter to me.

And its easy for women to be attractive, imo, I love our diversity. Nothing to be combative over, tho. Thats childish as hell. Id rather stick to myself at work or try to work as best I can with my team. It makes a job a bit more tolerable when you keep it cordial with your coworkers and even have a bit of fun.

No, because I learned an important lesson about this in high school.

When my first major crush started dating another girl, I was devastated. Constantly comparing myself to her. Wishing I looked like her. Couple years later I find out my first boyfriend was her crush at one point, but she wasn't his type.

So basically I was stressed out for no reason. This girl wasn't some peerless beauty just because one guy I liked preferred her over me. There's a lot of fish in these waters, so find the ones who do prefer you instead of losing sleep over those who don't.

Honest answer: not anymore, no. For me, jealousy was a sign that I wasn't doing enough —> I needed to work out more regularly, get a proper skincare regimen, start dressing better... etc.

Nope.

This might not be a popular statement, but I don't waste energy on a man unless we're in a committed relationship AND he's proven himself to be worthy of it. I learnt this second-hand from watching friends get cheated on by men who were just "meh" about them, and it isn't a lesson I'll forget anytime soon.

I also have pretty high standards for men (i.e. tall, educated, well-travelled, loyal, and stereotypically attractive). Given that these men are in short supply, it'd be daft of me to "fly into a jealous rage" every time another woman tries her luck bagging one of them. 😂

There are several problems with this scenario for me. The idea that I'm flirting with a coworker is... remote. Not impossible, if you expand it enough, I guess? (Someone who works at the same college, but whom I don't work with directly?) But the idea that I've fallen for a guy I've chatted with a bit is pretty silly. I might be interested. I might even have a bit of a crush. I just don't fall that easily.

But okay, he's someone I don't work with directly but see frequently. And we've chatted and I really like him and have a bit of a crush. And then I see him talking to a new co-worker, who is prettier than me. (I'm not super invested in my looks? But I get what you're aiming at, I think. And when I was really young I was insecure about them, so I remember that ...)

I'd feel a pang? I'd have felt a bigger pang when I was a teenager, but this jealous rage stuff - yikes, no, that's nuts. And I might back off a bit, but ffs, they were talking. I'd see how it plays out. And I'd probably make a point of getting to know her.

I don't generally think about people I work with in terms of good looking or relationship status. So it's hard to keep to your brief. I also don't shit where I work nor go into jealous rages everytime someone is better looking than me. I'd be an angry mess. I work in IT but with the healthcare system most of the women that work around me are beautiful women, I'd be a wreck if I though that way.
