There was an occasion when we took a bath together, I massaged her for an hour after. She said she was horny. She got dressed and drove to her FWB leaving me naked on the bed with my jaw hanging open.

Holy crap on a cracker that shit is brutal. That is fucking cold. Empathy = Zero.

[–]Evolved_Red90 points91 points92 points 12 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

There is nothing colder than a woman who is not attracted.

She will lie, manipulate, trickle truth, tell you everything else except the part that will make her out to be the bad guy (i.e. I'm not attracted to you anymore!)

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan87 points88 points89 points 12 years ago* (25 children) | Copy Link

We need some well written essays on how "unattracted women" work, whilst they're unattracted or more accurately in a "post-attraction" state they seem to become incredibly dark triad, whilst the lover she's attracted to? Probably sweet as pie to him. It's like some multiple personality shit, she's capable of congruently demonstrating two completely different sets of traits to two different people in the same phase of her life. One man's unicorn is another man's sexless battleaxe of a wife. This needs to be explored, I don't think this has ever been looked at thoroughly the entire time I've been on TRP (at least, not that I've noticed.)

This is also a shit test in itself. If a woman hasn't found someone else yet and is exhibiting this behavior a firm hand can rekindle their affection. Most women will constantly challenge the manliness of their mate, because they have an inert need to be reminded their mate is of higher quality/status than they are.

Little bits of knowledge about 'unattracted women' slip through the cracks of TRP posts every once in a while, but I agree that a collection, and a possible sidebar material would be beneficial reading, especially those new to TRP.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan74 points75 points76 points 12 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

My theory is that women can only pair bond to one male at a time and that is what makes them "seem like a good woman" or basically, its the pair bond that causes her to engage in a heightened display of positive qualities she does not show to others, once she has sex with another male she begins to release oxytocin and associate it with him and thus starts to form a bond with this other man. Compound this with the problem she is no longer associating oxytocin releases with her husband (as they're no longer having sex) and you have a woman who is no longer pair bonded or in love with her husband but has indeed "checked out" and is now bonding with a completely different man, despite for all appearances, being married to "her soon to be ex."

Once they branch swing or have already undergone lengthy preparations to ensure the branch swing is successful as it appears this woman is doing, the pair bond is broken. In fact the pair bond is long broken before she actually commits to the branch swing, the pair bond was destroyed the very moment she started enjoying regular sex with another man, that is not just her body enjoying such an arrangement, but her mind too.

Whilst pair bonded to you a woman is a completely different person than from when she is not pair bonded to you. The cold indifference is a stark contrast from the loving woman of perhaps a month or two prior. It's the difference between her relationship with you in a pair bonded and a non-pair bonded state. I think many, many men can relate to this behaviour from their own experiences.

Many men have noted how easily women seem to move on and how effortlessly they branch swing, even after long long relationships lasting years, they seem to have this ability to easily find meaningful relationships elsewhere, whereas a man who had a long relationship with a woman typically does not find it so easy to just replace his wife out of the blue because things got boring, add a mistress to the rotation? Sure, but he's still there for his wife and he's still willing to fuck her. Men don't just stop loving you because you don't make them tingle anymore, unlike women. Men stop loving you when you stop displaying femininity towards them.

It's as if women are programmed only to respect and respond well to the man fucking them the best, if a woman runs a harem of men she'll love whoever fucks her the best despite who her husband is meant to be. If a man runs a harem he's still capable of loving his wife despite all the side pussy he's getting, he doesn't think "oh shit this airheads pussy is so nice I'm going to leave my wife over it!" Cheating on your partner seems to affect the genders differently. I would love for them to do studies on this shit. Backup the conjecture of my observations with some science.

This is a quality post u/ill - it should be its own thread. As discussed, we need one specifically for this topic of 'unattracted women'.

Sexually-induced pheromones like oxytocin, testosterone, endorphins etc are also in need of more reference here IMO. Pair bonding is a science in itself that should be touched upon by red pilled men to better understand human sexuality.

[–]veggie_girl23 points24 points25 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've said it numerous times. A man can live multiple women at once without dismay. A woman can only love one man at a time.

It is directly related to our reproductive strategies. A man can impregnate multiple women at once, but a woman can only carry one man's baby. When men cheat it is all about sex and the only negative side of it is the lying. When women cheat they completely stop caring about their husband. There is a reason history has no record of female lorded harems of men.

[–]abcd_z0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What you call pair bonding the poly community calls New Relationship Energy. It's an intense feeling of love in a new relationship that blots out all other rational thought in regards to your significant other. It usually lasts 6-18 months.

[–]veggie_girl-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Aka bullshit. The poly community is a more like a hamster cage.

[–]projectself10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's called the cheaters script, and you'll see it everywhere once you recognize it. Go to men forums or infidelity forums or divorce forums or just look around at the people you know..

You need to understand a primary truth.
Women do not love you, they love the way you make them feel.
More specifically, for a woman to like you, she has to like herself when she is with you.
For a woman to love you, she has to love herself when she is with you.

Consider this truism from a game perspective... all the tenants of game are driven around the need to get her to feel like you are the prize. Because if you are the prize she will like being with you. Everything filters into that, status, body language, assets, whatever.. making you the prize makes her love you. You don't have to do it perfect, women can be very forgiving, you just have to do it.

Let me ask you, how do you think she feels about herself when she is with you after she cheated on you and lied about it? she hates you, not because you did something wrong, but because she feels bad so it must be your fault. All of the "classic signs" of a cheating woman are explained here.

Now the next core tenant here is the hamstering.. and look, it is not just women that do this. Everyone does it. As people, we hate cognitive dissonance. I cannot love this man and do this to him at the same time, therefore ...

.. yeah, it's the cheaters script. every single one of them plays out..

Re-writing marriage history

Projecting blame for the wayward spouses guilt onto the betrayed spouse

The typical "I love you but..." type of talk

The proclamation that the other person is the wayward spouses 'soul mate,' or something along those lines.

The demonizing of the betrayed spouse in order to rationalize the wayward spouses justification for carrying on the affair.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is totaly true. This has happened in my marriage already.

Last year, when I learnt that she tried to cheat me (or, at least, that's what she says, remember, guys, BJ does not count as sex, right?), I told her about everything I know and that I forgive her. This for some time cooled down the atmosphere. After some time, she started being disrespectful again, called me shit in front of my kids. So, I checked her facebook, and she was asking that other guy, how is he.

So, I am getting a divorce.

We need some well written essays on how "unattracted women" work

"The Manipulated Man" is about precisely that.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I got as far as the first 30 or so pages and gave up on it. Didn't enjoy it. It seemed to just go on about how women use men as tools for their desires, which is something I already know and do not need explained in excruciatingly nihilistic detail. Up until where I read it hadn't explored how women who had lost attraction to you or otherwise become scorned for one reason or another behave and outlined a model for it or made any kind of explanation as such. If it does that later on, let me know what bit of the book its in and I'll go check it out.

[–]Modredpillschool0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a good into for beginners who don't quite grasp the breadth of the problem (of their own doing).

[–]ratthing4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think the primary emotion that unattracted women manifest toward their victims is contempt. It always seemed to me that they unconsciously felt contempt toward a man for not acting like a man.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's really obvious if you can view her behavior objectively. That's really hard to do, because she will still tell you she cares, and you want to believe that lie, so you ignore all her actions that speak to the contrary.

I'd say the only way to avoid it is to have a healthy sense that no woman will ever truly love or care about you as much as you want her to. Always keep your options open and be like Robert DeNiro's character from the movie Heat.

[–]iAngeloz1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just broke up with my gf of two years. This thread was her in a nutshell. Its like she just zoned out. She didnt challenge me anymore because she just stopped caring. We stopped having sex, etc. She always had an excuse when it came to her lack of passion. When i had enough and broke up with her she wasnt even sad. She then asked if we could still live together and occasionally go out. She called it a friendship of time. She said we could just fake until we make it. I have been out of this relationship for a couple of months. Looking back it was one of the most disgusting relationships I have ever been in. So unhealthy

Wait. It gets worse:

-poly_failure 29 Points 18:41:39, 23 March

Here's a sample conversation.

Me: "I'm going to take a shower. Would you like to join me?"

Wife: "No. I have to make sure daughter completed her homework."

Me: "I'll do that after the shower. I'd really like to enjoy the feeling of you in my arms. I'd love to wash your hair the way you like."

Wife: "I'll have a shower at lover's house."

Me: "Oh? I didn't know you had plans tonight."

Wife: "That's why I have to get daughter sorted now - before I go"

Me: "I'm feeling neglected. I'd really appreciate it if you set aside some time for us."

Wife: "I'm with you all the time. I want to go enjoy 'fill in the non-sexual activity' with lover. I've been looking forward to it all week."

Me: "Will you come home before midnight? I'd like to make love to you tonight."

Wife: "Not tonight. I'm not sure when I'll get home. It's been a long week and I'm not in the mood."

If I had gotten to this point then I think I would have killed myself already.

poly_failure[S] 30 points31 points32 points 1 day ago*

Wife just read my post and this thread.

Her first words were "You never gave polyamory a chance."

I asked, "Should we get divorced?" Her response was to say I let her down. She asked me to find somewhere else to sleep tonight.

She also said the dialog sample I provided was one sided, and she had plans with her lover for a whole week. She says she told me and I should have remembered. She says my asking for sex that night was just a ploy to get her to break her planned evening with her lover. She says it was selfish of me.

She says she doesn't remember leaving me to meet FWB after the massage.

I'll look into divorce on Monday.

[–]bitchdantkillmyvibe40 points41 points42 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Woooowwwwww... this just makes me sad. He is her total bitch. The sociopath still manages to turn it around on him and make him the bad guy, and she does it because she knows she can. She knows exactly how to guilt him, to the point that he even makes concessions like this,

She also said the dialog sample I provided was one sided, and she had plans with her lover for a whole week. She says she told me and I should have remembered.

When she is being the vindictive, selfish, uncaring twat. This really breaks my heart to see a man so weak and unempowered. The fucker's been completely castrated. She is a total psycho. I don't understand how men let women like this into their lives.

Edit: Spelling mistake

[–]foghorn197 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Typically, divorce in situation with kids is extremely damaging to the father in the present day family court system. This case, however, is an exception.

Divorce will be tremendously liberating for him. Just getting out of the daily presence of this ankle will be a great mental health benefit for him.

The bitch is an extreme sociopath.

[–]Endorsed Contributorzyk0s18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

In his hypothetical, he is married to the woman (like the guy in the post). Bouncing means divorce, which means she gets absolutely all the benefits of the current situation (lovers, the house, money from alimony) but also gets rid of the unattractive man she is living with! And he gets screwed over. Not exactly a good strategy.

Sure, the proposed solution is a petty scorched earth approach, but it's precisely because society expects men not to act that way that this shit is not addressed.

[–]Endorsed Contributorzyk0s8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not about the outcome of your own life but preventing the other party from getting a good deal out of it. That's why I said it's a scorched earth approach, and incidentally, that's the process by which revolutions start. The cost is greater to rebel than to go with the flow, but sometimes, enabling your opponent is just too enraging of a thought.

I like your approach, but it's impractical. Amateur criminals generally get caught pretty easily, especially when there's a clear, strong motive for you to have done it. Given that police generally suspect the husband when the wife is killed anyway,it's unlikely he will get away with this.

[–]1sailorJery1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

but in your analogy, the revolution has an end game, not so much for those convicted of murder.

[–]Endorsed Contributorzyk0s2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Revolutions don't really have end games either, if you really think about it. At least not at the level of the individual insurgent. I won't deny that acting alone is quite foolish, and likely to accomplish nothing, since it's easy to brand the one man instance. It's not rational process, it's a very emotional one: your injustice tolerance is exceeded, and you want to act. I'm not saying it is an objectively good strategy, simply explaining why it happens.

That's simply how women are. The only women in my experience who aren't like this live out their later years without a partner. Women like being alone as far as I can tell. They only pair up to have kids.

Never, ever underestimate the ruthlessness of a woman who's lost her attraction to you.

It goes far deeper and far colder than a woman who never liked you to begin with. A woman who was attracted to you, then you lost her attraction, feels burned, cheated, raped, used. Like you kept her from her new lover(s) for years, like you were trapping her and holding her back. It's hard, if not impossible, for her to remember what it was ever like being attracted to you, or that she ever was. In her mind, you were always a loser, and your relationship was never right. She's already rewritten history, and you're the villain, not the other men, not her. And a long-time loser like you isn't worth two seconds of her time. You wasted enough of her time already.

Never underestimate the ruthlessness of a woman who's lost her attraction to you.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Is that the voice of experience I detect? Your use of the second person tense suggests you've had a woman tell you these things from her own point of view, or, abstractly, based on a woman's behaviour you have the ability to go into her head and draw solipsistic (from her POV) conclusions from externally observed behaviours. Nevertheless, a valuable post, I think this should be explored in more depth.

This is probably something for one of the intelligent older guys to explore, my approach is far less personal as I lack the direct experience of a woman's scorn to such an extent that marriage would entail, a guy who's been divorced could add far more emotional depth than I, out of me you'll get far more objective sounding/unemotional deductions which although true, lack the insight of someone who's actually dealt with the wrath of a woman from a very serious relationship firsthand and then come to understand it from her viewpoint.

The emotion is very important in communicating the tenacity of this female behavioural trait because their scorn/indifference is what crushes so many men.

[–]TRP VanguardArchwinger5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think the root cause is primarily that women feel suffocated when they're supposed to feel guilty.

Once the attraction is gone, but they're still married to you, they don't know what to do. She's stuck in this house, in this life with you. She doesn't want to be there with you, but knows that she's allegedly supposed to be. She knows she's supposed to love you, but she doesn't, and she has no idea why. And it's maddening to her, because you aren't doing anything wrong. You're being a good man, and a good husband, and it's just annoying the fuck out of her like those nice guys at the bar who keep trying to buy a girl drinks and can't take a hint.

The fact that you expect her to love you suffocates her. It's the same phenomenon as putting her on a pedestal. She's uncomfortable with the expectations you have of her, and that means the way she feels is your fault, not hers. And that means it's okay for her to cheat, leave, disrespect you, etc. Because it's all your fault. Whew. Sigh of relief. That was close. She almost felt guilty for a second.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Arch nails it. My ex-wife reacted like this. She said she wasn't sure she ever was attracted to me, that she felt like I had somehow stolen years from her, and that my expectations for her were suffocating. She utterly convinced herself that we never really had a connection, and that I had somehow brainwashed her into being with me.

It was surrealism at its best. Facts, even documented facts, meant nothing. I distinctly remember pulling out love letters and asking, "Were these lies?" She would look past them in my hand like they didn't exist, and I believe that for her, they didn't.

She is chatty with me now that her life has taken a less than joyous turn, and is attracted to me again. I have no doubt that if I were to ask her about the events described above, she would insist that they never happened. Why? Because acknowledging them would only get in the way of whatever vague desire she has for me now.

[–]TrueBro5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never told this to anyone before but, this is literally what happened with my mother. I grew up with divorced parents, and according to my mom, my father was apparently the worst man on earth. She tried to brainwash me into hating him and it worked for a major part of my childhood. I saw my mother as a victim and my father as the villain. What's funny is that my father is a much much better person than she will ever be, which took me a while to realise. Sadly for him, he is(was?) a beta.

Anyway, when I got older, my dad told me one day that the reason my mother asked for a divorce is because she was seeing another man(she never admitted to it but...). She lost all attraction and started hating him. Among many things, she lied(not sure if it was in court) to try to make him lose his job. It's all incredibly crazy shit I was too young to understand but this is true and the story of my parents is the first thing that came to my mind when I read that polyamory story.

At least there's a happy ending: my father become a much better, stronger man. Maybe not 100% alpha but he is not the beta he used to be. He has been and is still boning my hot step mom for the last 20~ years which he never maried while my mother is still alone having a hard time finding someone.

poly_failure[S] 30 points31 points32 points 1 day ago*

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan32 points33 points34 points 12 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Holy crap on the mother fucking crapper this woman's tenacity is fucking ludicrous!

"You never gave polyamory a chance."

Shifts responsibility from him to her, note the indifference in the assertion.

Her response was to say I let her down

She needs him to be the bad guy, she's ready to divorce but it has to seem like its his fault. Thus it can be rationalised that its fault they're breaking up as he let her down. She is a woman, her logic is faulty enough that she can sincerely believe he did in actual fact let her down, despite all her own transgressions. What matters to her is coming out of the divorce looking like an angel so her social networks don't abandon her, not the actual divorce itself. She knows she'll get everything anyway.

She asked me to find somewhere else to sleep tonight.

The irony, it's not like she was fucking two other guys and ignoring his sexual desires anyway, was it?

She also said the dialog sample I provided was one sided, and she had plans with her lover for a whole week.

Not acceptable, this is in actual fact, worse. If she's spending "a whole week" with another lover it sounds like she's getting ready to move on, that's more than just fucking, that's the guy she wants to have her life with now.

She says she told me and I should have remembered.

But that's OK, you know, abandoning your husband for a week to be with your love is completely OK. Why? Because honesty! The reason it's a problem is because he didn't remember her telling him that, not the actual fact she's fucking well doing that! Oh my fucking lord. What a hoop jumping mental gymnastic olympian she is, fuck me sideways.

She says my asking for sex that night was just a ploy to get her to break her planned evening with her lover. She says it was selfish of me.

This shows she prioritises her lover over her husband, she has been selfish by denying her husband's sexual needs by fulfilling her own needs with another man whilst showing his disregards, their needs are not being equally met and she hasn't helped him pick up women either. She projects her own sense of selfishness onto her man, saying he is the selfish party. She is attacking him because he is suspicious of her intentions, her attack is another red flag, rather than open up she's closing up and becoming more manipulative, she's using guilt/shaming as a tool here to make him feel bad so she can seize power and continue to do what she wants, have the best of both - him as the beta bucks and the other guy as the alpha fucks.

The irony here is that she calls him selfish when she has demonstrated the tenacity of her own selfishness for an extended period of time. This is a form of gaslighting, making you believe you're the guilty party when the other party is the one committing the moral wrongs. She normalises her behaviour and disregards criticism of it, whilst undermining his criticism of her behaviour as unfounded and using that as a foot in the door to attack his credibility and control him. This is what women do when they're fucking with you (not in the way you like, in the head) and they're very good at it, it's machiavellian as fuck but they pull it off so effortlessly and seem like they believe so much in what they're saying that they can convince a rational man to believe in irrational things through sheer manipulation.

She says she doesn't remember leaving me to meet FWB after the massage.

Even her own moral compass realises how fucked up that was, so she just flat out denies it to retain her veneer of credibility. I smell bullshit. She knows. Notice how she doesn't say "it never happened!" she says "she didn't remember" if something upsets you, you would be outraged. If you're not upset but want to seem like you are because someone's opinion carries weight with you, you at least feign your upset, especially if you're subject to the emotivity of a female set of hormones. Again, she shows total indifference here and tries to be slippery rather than give assurances. She has already checked out, she's not even bothering to try and convince the guy on an emotional level, she's just fucking with him by negging him and normalising her "all you can eat buffet of sex and money."

I'll look into divorce on Monday.

Liquidate your assets and hide them!

Indeed, quite a few of women's criticisms can be rooted down to projection. When women accuse us of misogyny and manipulation, it is purely projection, they simply know nothing more than their own mental state. Pay attention to women's accusations such as this one, accusing her husband of selfishness, because it will clue you into her mental state more than anything she could intentionally say.

Women like this and the lack of accountability they have to society for engaging in such behaviour is a very large part of why trp exists. It's not the only reason, but if there were a 10 commandments of sorts this one would be up there. The maxim or idea that "women can get away with murder because they're women."

Ultimately, RP philosophy would say it's not her fault. If he had been more alpha and put harsher boundaries in place, kept fucking her well and been dominant she wouldn't have strayed, and truefully, doing those things may have reduced her need to "look elsewhere" it sounds like she wasn't enjoying the sexy with her husband and so the marriage fucked up, but ultimately she is accountable for her own actions, they both bare blame, and she is coming out of this way better than he is. It's easier for women to get sex than it is for men and the courts de facto favour them in family matters.

The fact that society would once scorn and shame her for this behaviour to encourage her to sustain the family she committed herself to rather than engage in selfish behaviour or try to spruce up the sex with her husband by helping him become more alpha is the reason why TRP exists.

Men are not allowed to falter, as soon as a man is off his game, even to a slightly noticeable degree, a woman is getting ready to walk away, despite all their rhetoric of saying men are afraid of commitment, it is they who are so quick to give up on their own commitments and abandon their men in searches of greener pastures.

Women are getting away with murder and nobody bats an eyelid, they are not held accountable. Despite her being the one to break the marriage vows, the courts would give her everything. It's a justice system without justice and it's why we have this community, so that despite the perversity of fucked up occurrences such as this one we can all do our best to live well and avoid finding ourselves in similar situations.

You have to understand the game to be a player, once you're a player you improve yourself until you have power. Once you have power your can mitigate exploitation and maximise enjoyment. TRP in a nutshell - get powerful and realise women can be the undoing of your power if you allow their exploitative natures (the culmination of both their psychology and sexuality) to take hold of you.

[–]1FloranHunter5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

despite all their rhetoric of saying men are afraid of commitment, it is they who are so quick to give up on their own commitments and abandon their men in searches of greener pastures.

Which is why smart men do avoid commitment. Women can't be trusted to stick with their man when they have the material option to stray.

For what is a pretty poorly thought out low level post, I'm going to contribute another high level post as it seems to be as good an opportunity as ever to do as such and I'm in something of a benevolent "let's teach people shit" kind of mood.

We are capable of learning from deduction based upon hypothetical reasoning, we learn nothing by deducing that an absence of proof makes discourse irrelevant or otherwise inane.

Hypothetical reasoning is not fallible as a construct in and of itself, it is neither credible nor incredible because it does not posit itself to be real, it is an environment for reasoning to be "simulated" and is the whole basis of theoretical thinking both formally within academia and informally.

If we needed evidence to deduct things, in some cases, we would not reach conclusions due to an absence of evidence.

Philosophy of Science, or simply Philosophy, the founding subject area for what is known as modern day science has its basis in hypothetical reasoning and is what the experimental method was derived from, hypotheses were put forward and evidence was looked for to proof the hypothesis - inductive logic, the evidence was found AFTER the assertion was made, not beforehand.

This origins of science are proof that the theoretical can directly and indirectly lead to ideas which can later on be substantiated by proof. Theoretical physics is a subject taught in universities, under your logic we should shut all these departments down because they have no conclusive proof for their theories, there are no credentials behind what they say, merely ideas and concepts based on deductions and assumptions employing mathematical gymnastics to "make something work."

Deductive logic can also lead to fallacies and inductive logic can lead to proof, although typically the prior is seen as more credible than the latter, but this is not always so.

Following the rules of your demonstrated reasoning one can assert that the internet is irrelevant to learning as the credentials of those posting on it cannot be verified, when in fact the reality is quite the opposite. One does not necessarily need proof of something for something to be real. If a tree falls in a forest and nobody hears it, does it make a sound? You're making the fallible argument "no, it makes no sound" simply because you didn't hear it, you lack the proof. Scientifically the answer is "yes, it made a sound, but nobody heard that sound."

Basically there is existence perceivable outside our own body of understanding as well as TRUTHFUL knowledge outside our own capability to prove.

You have actually made an absurd assertion which is essentially tantamount to "nothing can be learnt from hypotheticism as there is an absence of evidence for this paradigms existence" therefore, you're positing refutations as equal in value to hypothetical arguments, which is an illogical deduction.

It is absurd to believe someone who refutes an assertion "I don't believe this" adds equal value to a discussion as someone who posits hypothetical possibilities "I believe this because if..." the person making the refutation is adding nothing of value and in the worst cases, is showing contempt and bigotry. The person positing a hypothetical is giving the group something to think about and is creating a platform for ideas to be developed, if those ideas are refuted, they should be done so with superior deduction, not mere unsubstantiated refutation.

Obviously for the sake of hypothetical engagement, we assume the premise is true or there is no discourse apparent, now factor in the contextual variable that this is an internet forum, a placed designed for discourse and you begin to see the absurdity of your statement.

Whether I personally believe if this story is true or not is irrelevant, people can learn from hypothetical principles based on the assumption it is true as if they are ever to find themselves experiencing a similar thing they can recall the deductions scrutinised here and apply them in their own life. Under the assumption that all knowledge is false until proven, we learn nothing.

For the sake of learning on the internet, we assume everything is true - or there is no discussion and no learning can take place. That is the point of this place - to learn.

So yeah next time somebody snarkily says "this didn't happen" or tries to equate a lack of contribution and a contribution based on an absence of evidence as equal in value, lesson learnt kids, you know they're talking complete bullshit.

Tldr: check your logic if you're going to come at me, your deduction is fallacious.

We talk a lot, but she is tired of hearing me "complain".

One thing I've learned about women and especially LTRs, do not ever, under any circumstance, complain about anything. No matter how minor you think it may be. "Ouch, wow, slamming my fingers in the car door really hurts." No. She will not understand. She will be annoyed. A week later she will bitch about how you "complain" all the time.

[–]TRP VanguardArchwinger36 points37 points38 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

One thing I've learned about women and especially LTRs, do not ever, under any circumstance, complain about anything.

Very, very essential point. I just complained to my wife this morning about a difficult client blowing up my e-mail over the weekend. Her response? "Guess you'll be coming home late and I'll be stuck being a single-parent again, huh?"

Same complaint to a female co-worker who normally backs me on absolutely everything, figuring she'd understand the workplace dynamic and commiserate with me about this high maintenance client. "You should practice saying no. Just take care of this. I have work to do."

Women don't care to hear about your problems. When you tell them about your problems, the only parts their minds are focusing on are the parts that affect them, and that's just so they can do damage control and come out with the maximum possible benefit.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know if I agree with that last part. I believe the women in your life seem to be very selfish. The same can be applied to men as well. I think complaining is natural and I believe tolerance for it varies from person to person. These women lack empathy, something that many men also lack. I think a more productive statement would be how could I surround myself with empathetic women or how can I turn my wife into an empathetic woman I don't believe this has to do with the gender but instead with the person. Also, as someone that is TRP endorsed, why is your wife even responding in that way unless of course it was in a jokingly fashion.

[–]boredinclass229 points30 points31 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Yep. Apologizing is bad too. There are other ways to show remorse for something you did wrong as opposed to apologizing and ceding the dominant position to your SO.

[–]theredpill10115 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Isn't it a hell of a coincidence that the modus operandi of sociopaths and abusers fits perfectly here?

They don't apologize - after they've beaten their SO they blame them (why did you make me do this?) and then reinforce their position (I love you). And/or go out and buy the woman something (flowers, chocolate, jewelry).

And women eat that shit up. They stay and continue to be abused - they will attempt to leave, but will return, knowing full well that the abuse will continue.

And never was an apology given.

[–]FortunateBum10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good point. Asshole game. It works.

[–]Endorsed Contributorzyk0s10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you want to be the "good" alpha instead of the asshole, you can walk a fine line by never saying you're sorry but telling her you're going to do things differently next time. A stoic approach and a strong frame are essential here, you need to show 0 emotion when you say that. And you only do it if she is in a submissive frame, i.e. sad and not angry.

Here's the deal: men get their way through strength, women get their way through meekness. That's basically what masculinity and femininity are, and if you deviate from that pattern, she'll loose her attraction. So don't try to get your way through pleading and tears (i.e. don't be feminine) and don't let her get her way through coercion (don't let her be masculine).

As a side-note, a woman complaining about my behavior is grounds for a Soft Next (calmly leave immediately, followed by at least a week of no-contact). It's surprisingly effective at teaching her not to give me shit.

[–]nessfalco5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I learned this the hard way. I had the affection of a hot little thing because I was in a position of power. She was addicted to my cock and constantly needed my attention.

About 6 months in I started having difficulty coping with some additional responsibility at work and really just needed a cheerleader to back me up until I got my head back. It only took her a month to say "I don't feel the same anymore" and run for greener pastures.

She gave all the telltale sounds along the way: gradually escalating disrespect that I let pass because I assumed it was facetious; being less responsive; initiating conversation less. I noticed it all but was not in a position mentally to reclaim dominance.

In later conversations she did exactly what posters in this thread said happens: she acted like the whole thing was wrong from the start, ignoring (well, excusing via cognitive dissonance, saying "she was in a different state then") all previous of her words and actions.

Now with my current girl I don't let anything slide. I'm ever-vigilant and make sure to keep my problems as my own. I just fuck her good, let her cook me dinner and go do whatever I want without ever letting her know what I am really concerned with.

[–]torrentialtomato2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's what bros are for. If I didn't have my best buddy to talk to and share shit with, I don't know what I'd do. I learned long ago (way before even hearing about the Red Pill) that sharing too much with with wife doesn't help me or our relationship. I sometimes hear guys say that their SO is their best friend. Truthfully, I don't know how that's possible. If it is, and they have it in their relationship with a woman, then God bless them. But I've never come across that in my experience.

[–]FortunateBum0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The best thing you can find in life is a guy friend who you can share your feelings of insecurity with who won't go and blab that shit all over town. Once you find that good guy friend you can confide in, things feel better. But yeah, women, man.

If you don't currently have a good friend, sometimes it's good to go to a local bar and talk to strangers. Classic male behavior, I know. But if you can find the right bar, one that's almost all guys in the middle of the afternoon, it ain't so bad.

How we got to this point where we expect a "soul mate" and a "best friend" is one for the historians. I blame the hippies and the feminists, but I don't really know.

The salient point from the thread:

About 6 months ago, my wife suggested opening our marriage and embracing polyamory. My wife and I were both virgins when we met and were monogamous. She said she wanted to sow some of the wild oats she never sowed in her youth. I am philosophically aligned with polyamory, so I was not overly reluctant.

The first weekend of openness, my wife contacted a recently divorced colleague from her former job. They went out to dinner. She called me after dinner and said she was going to his house and wouldn't be back that night. She ended up not coming home for two full days. A few weeks later, she went on a date with a much younger former colleague. Ever since, she calls the younger colleague FWB and the divorced colleague her "lover". She sleeps with one or the other of them at least once a week.

In contrast, I have not had a single date with the exception of one glass of tea at Panera with a woman from OKCupid.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, NEVER agree to something where it's possible there will be an unequal result unless you're getting yours first. For guys this is especially true when it comes to sex.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Used to know a guy in what I'd call a genuine poly relationship. He basically had two women, who were both into each other, the one woman had a few other women she'd invite over. He was what you might call alpha-geek, he had absolutely no problem getting women.

That bit you quoted says to me the guy was kidding himself he was poly and mainly did it, ironically, to keep his relationship going. Even if he'd been involved in a threesome with her and one of the guys it would have been less pathetic than how it is.

[–]1FloranHunter1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So basically he was poly in the sense that he engaged in frequent threesomes?

[–]InferiousX4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

NEVER agree to something where it's possible there will be an unequal result unless you're getting yours first

Especially if she's the one who initiates this type of discussion and you have zero "go-to" options of your own that are almost a sure thing. It's been my experience that when a woman brings up these types of things, she already has someone on the line who is basically waiting for a phone call and will be inside of her before you have a chance to do the crossword puzzle in the paper the next day.

So now she's seeing someone else, you have to work on getting with a different woman which takes time/numbers and chances are that deep down, you're coming from a place of weakness in this pursuit which other women will smell on you like a bad cologne.

It's just a shit place to be in all regards.

Jessica Simpson was a virgin at marriage, too. Cheated on Nick Lachey with at least 5 guys before divorcing him. Lachey went all BP after the marriage, Jessicas career eclipsed his, so he's not even a beta provisioner.

Ah "polyamory", a sugar coated cuckolding where 90%+ of men are way out of their depth, these idiots either really don't know it's literally 100 times easier for a woman to get fucked than a man or are counting for a miracle and love of their wives... See how that worked out?

This might be made up cause it fits into beta masochism to well but overall it's textbook. He should get photos of her being fucked by that kid and older dude, with time stamps, and go for divorce. She obviously doesn't give a flying fuck about him so blackmail her, show it to family when she fights for assents to hard.

If by some chance this guy actually gets a gf I'm gonna cite the first page of rp manual and tell you all she is going to close that marriage faster than his head will spin.

And why would the woman ever agree to a poly relationship then in the first place? No way in hell would she ever suggest it. This is why poly relationships never work when the woman initiates it, because a woman would never want to give up a high value man she is attracted to. They are a one-mate gender, they want one man and they want him to themselves. If a man is already high value enough to get more pussy than the woman, you can bet your hard ass dollars that woman would never want to share him with anyone, ever. That's why suggestion of a poly relationship from a woman really just means "I'm not attracted to you anymore".

We are wealthy but not fabulously so. We live an upper middle class lifestyle. There are no yachts or anything, but we could continue this lifestyle for the rest of our lives without ever working another day.About 9 months ago, my wife changed jobs by moving to a different company. About 2 years ago, I left a highly paid executive position to become a university professor. Both of us love our new jobs.

So instead of upgrading he downgraded...as Chris Rock said it women do NOT go backwards in lifestyle, PERIOD.

About 6 months ago, my wife suggested opening our marriage and embracing polyamory. My wife and I were both virgins when we met and were monogamous. and now that he doesn't make those bux she is not even trying to keep him happy with some screwing around every now and then. No doubt he will get screwed like most men in a divorce and ex-wifey goes back on the market, with a sizable portion of his cash.

No doubt he will get screwed like most men in a divorce

Take the equity out of the house, start liquidising assets go to a casino "gamble it all" and hide that money offshore within a charitable fund. Basically you want to launder your own clean money so it can't be traced and allocated to her in the divorce.

He wants to "start gambling his money" for the next year. Whilst slowly bit by bit hiding it away outside US jurisdiction. A swiss bank account would be perfect. He should stop providing her the massages and all that other supplicative crap she derives enjoyment from and become emotionally distant just to fuck with her. Sounds like she gets the dicking from the FWB and "dick + alpha tingles" from the "lover."

He should start hitting up the clubs/drinking/smoking/doing recreational drugs and leading a social life, get himself out there and fuck some young bitches. When she inevitably points out he's more distant he can turn around and say "those are issues that she has that she needs to deal with and it needs to stop because it makes her look unattractive" (play her at her own manipulative stonewalling bullshit game of "your emotions aren't important and I'm not responsible for fucking you over despite my religious and legal oath to you")

Being a professor is a huge DHV to younger women, he can drop that line in, confirm they don't study where he teaches and he's good to go for a rumble in the hay.

Effectively he'll dread game her, she may throw pussy his way because of it, but the marriage is irreconcilable at this point, she's broken too many boundaries and will never respect him properly again. He should start selling off assets like cars and other crap, downsizing, selling it, putting it in the swiss account/trust fund or whatever arrangement he makes to hide the money and then blame it on gambling. Sure he'll look bad in the divorce and his own kids may hate him for "being a deadbeat gambler" or whatever his reputation is spun as, but at the end of the day at least that way he has money and doesn't end up living out of his car or some crap like some guys have.

How else can a wealthy person spend a lot of money and have it untraceable? If you have any better ideas than blowing it all in a casino, feel free to share 'em. He could hide the money in cash, but that's far less secure and far more likely to be stolen. Also harder to get to it when travelling. I'm not sure what divorce law is like when it comes to stocks/dividends, but he could try hiding it there too. Say keep $5k in his underwear/socks as emergency.

With all the money hidden at his disposal, he can use that to help him start a new life somewhere else. He should give up his job too and move away, this whole thing is fucked, he has to start fresh which at 45 is kinda shitty, but he fucked up by letting her have too much power in the relationship, equality is bullshit.

We all know asset division is a fucking joke. Basically the bitch will get the lot. Fuck giving her everything. Better to have everyone think you have a gambling addiction than to be poor and out on the street.

If you're smart, you don't get married, he's got to make the best of a bad situation here. Disregard your reputation, save money, start a fresh somewhere new and build up a new reputation there. He needs to destroy his empire and rebuild anew because he's got a cunt in the senate.

Yeah, not machiavellian enough. You can be talented, knowledgeable, a professor or academic of renown, but if your machiavellian intelligence is low you're going to get screwed in life. The acquisition of wisdom facilitates the growth of machiavellianism.

America is an overreaching fuck who ruined Swiss bank accounts for everyone.

The IRS got all up in Switzerland's business saying that they had to report all activity in all American bank accounts. That's in violation of Swiss privacy laws, but Switzerland couldn't really continue the way they were going without "upsetting the international community" so they caved with a "fuck you". So yes, now they report all American bank account information to the IRS but actually getting a bank account is damn near impossible. Only a few Swiss banks will take Americans at all, and to even be eligible for a Swiss bank account you have to have a visa.

I'm studying abroad in Switzerland so I have one, but it's worthless since my money is reported to the IRS anyway.

One word: bitcoin

It's the new tropical island of money laundering. It has increased in value since it's inception, and barring any catastrophic abandonment, will continue to increase in value.

Very interesting.

So is it still a possibility for non-americans, say a Canadian? Eg: would the swiss report non-americans account information to the IRS if the business transactions involved american citizens? Seems like a grey area even for non-americans.

America is an overreaching fuck who ruined Swiss bank accounts for everyone.

It sucks they violated the laws of the most democratic nation in the world.

[–]JJTheJetPlane56570 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I don't know, you'd have to ask the bank. I'm pretty sure the Swiss wouldn't report the account in your example to the IRS because they have very strict privacy laws. Also, that's just not how banks work.. Just because I bought something in Japan doesn't mean that I'm checking in with the Japanese government about my bank account.

Judges aren't stupid. They're going to assume you still have it unless you have proof.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That really doesn't help. In law the only thing that matters is what you can prove.

You've never had any contact with family law, have you? Believe me, the judge will order you to produce the gold and hold you in contempt until you do. There must be more to that story.

Already looking for the Alfa Fux

Dude please, that whore already had her Alpha Fux lined up before she even brought it up to the husband! I wouldn't be surprised if she was already cheating with those 2 "lovers" from work before.

[–]randomstormtrooper4 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Exactly my thoughts. A woman will not suggest an "open" relationship without viable branches to swing to. She already had the suitors lined up and ready to pin her down on the bed.

Absolutely typical beta behavior. What did this moron think was going to happen? That he'd live in a harem with lots of young college girls who're interested in him for his maturity and knowledge?

Lol, fuck that. He should of divorced her straight off the fucking bat at the mere suggestion they open the marriage, since that's ALWAYS a one sided affair, unless you, the man, are some movie star.

He seems like one of those limp wristed liberal types who are accepting of all these 'lifestyles' choices, then reality comes crashing down on him when he can't say no.

See for me this is hilarious because I am in a semi open relationship. I am allowed to fuck other women, but there is no way I would allow my wife to have other men.

After I have been out getting strange, I actually feel more attracted to my wife because it re-enforces that she is the best choice I made.

Once the libido is sated, I am reminded about all her other wonderful qualities.

It doesn't work this way with women, giving them access to strange dick breaks the pair bond.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan79 points80 points81 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

It doesn't work this way with women, giving them access to strange dick breaks the pair bond.

Important point to make when the equality brigade say "it's not fair that men can fuck other women, but we can't fuck other men!"

It's due to the unfairness that women lose their pair bond when getting other dicks but men don't from getting random vagina. Men proved that time and time again by taking mistresses and keeping happy marriages.

This is why women fear emotional cheating more than physical cheating, if a man is emotionally cheating he's more likely to abandon you. The reverse is true with women, they are more likely to abandon you if they're physically cheating rather than emotionally cheating.

TLDR: women can't be polygamous and have an LTR, men can.

Except, there are plenty of swingers that have successful married relationships.

According to 2005 estimates by the Kinsey Institute and others, swingers account for two to four percent of married couples with numbers in excess of 4 million people in North America. As of 2011, some experts believe that there are as many as 15 million Americans swinging on a regular basis.

According to economic studies on swinging, the search for ever new sexual experiences delays long-period hedonic adaptation and thus increases swingers’ long-period wellbeing.

In a 2000 online survey of 1,092 swingers, Bergstrand and Williams found that swingers seem to have higher general satisfaction and more excitement in their lives than non-swingers.

[–]LordXerces4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

My theory is that swinger relationships only work when there is either a highly present sexual dynamic (sub/dom) or when the male is actually an alpha. In addition, there is a difference between polygamy and swinging.

[–]abcd_z0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

In addition, there is a difference between polygamy and swinging.

Yes, but IllimitableMan was saying that any dick breaks the pair bond. Swinging is an example that disproves this.

[–]LordXerces2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

There is truth in what Ill is saying, but the truth is not always that literal.

Let's say that a man and a woman is in an open relationship. Let's go for the swinging type. If the man treats the woman more like his own property than a free, open soul, it can definitely work. If the man already has immense psychological and sexual power over her, she will feel like the pleasure she is getting is a result of her relationship with her man. Once again, this will only work if the man is an alpha. The man rewards her with heightened sexual experiences. And if you think the "property" part is sexist, you do not understand female sexuality and how incredibly arousing this can be for her in the right context.

If the woman is the one suggesting an open relationship, you might aswell just dump her. The only exception I can come up with is if the man is sexually submissive and enjoys the role of being the beta, because at that stage, it will practically be masochism, which, I suppose, works for some.

[–]abcd_z-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If the man treats the woman more like his own property than a free, open soul, it can definitely work.

You're... you're kidding, right?

I can't think of a better way to cause drama than doing that.

If the woman is the one suggesting an open relationship, you might aswell just dump her.

OR you could develop the skills necessary to sleep with multiple other women, keeping her attracted to you as an alpha male.

Betaization only occurs when the man agrees to open the relationship without putting in the work to sleep with other women.

[–]LordXerces2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You're... you're kidding, right?

I completely sympathize with you by asking that question. It seems absurd at the surface. However, consent should obviously be present here. We are talking about a beautiful, mutual dom/sub relationship, not an abusive, power-broken relationship. If this still reads like braille to you, I suggest reading up on true dominant/submissive relationships. They're quite cool.

OR you could develop the skills necessary to sleep with multiple other women, keeping her attracted to you as an alpha male.

Often not worth the effort, because what is essentially happening here is that she is looking to "legally cheat". She most likely has a lover lined up and he is awaiting her green light. If she suggests it, you would be an absolute idiot that it came from a logical string of thought; "hm, you know what? I think this relationship would be more exciting and better for my husband if we went poly!". No. People act on selfish impulses.

If she initiated it, she's looking for a loophole in infidelity. If your first impulse is to go out and fuck as many women as possible in order to maintain frame and win her back, god bless you.

[–]abcd_z-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

However, consent should obviously be present here. We are talking about a beautiful, mutual dom/sub relationship, not an abusive, power-broken relationship.

Oh yeah, that's fine. I misunderstood what you meant by this.

If your first impulse is to go out and fuck as many women as possible in order to maintain frame and win her back, god bless you.

LOL. Okay yeah, I agree with this too. If you're fucking other women anyways, why bother hanging on to the one who wants strange dick? Or at the very least, demote her to plate status.

[–]LordXerces1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you're fucking other women anyways, why bother hanging on to the one who wants strange dick? Or at the very least, demote her to plate status.

Because why would you give her that? Why would you show her such an intimate gesture of affection such as sex? She practically went up to your face and said "listen, I am losing my attraction and respect for you, I was wondering if I could somehow cheat on you, but I want to find a loophole. Can I just do it instead?" If this was laid upon me, I would have laughed in her face and told her to get out. There is no room in my life nor my heart for that kind of dumb-bitchery. She can gtfo.

And considering how this context is LTR, it's rarely easy to just "demote" your wife or girlfriend down to a fuck toy.

[–]afropuffs1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know swingers personally, but the ones (swingers) I've discussed this topic with online have mostly admitted that there are still rules within the relationship (ie, only the "husband" can kiss, finger-fuck, finish inside, etc.). This is still setting a boundary that only one "special" person can cross, which in my book still sets up the possibility of being disappointed by your significant other ("you let him bust inside of you?! how could you?!); so why be married? Again, I'm basing this off of my limited conversations with swingers, but I'd be interested in finding out the divorce rate amongst them. It may not be specifically the dick that breaks the pair bond, but something physical breaks that bond; otherwise women would be sleeping with their orbiter/emotional tampon that they connect with when hubby disappoints them.

Also, I think being a swinger is a shitty deal if you aren't an alpha male. Women already have it easier getting laid, so she'll be getting stuffed left and right while Mr. Disillusioned Beta Bucks struggles to find new booty. Some chumps don't seem to mind that either, claiming they like to "watch". Hell, there's whole pornos built around cuckoldry.

[–]jkonine0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They thing about swingers is that they're still doing it together. It's a shared experience and activity.

It isn't one sided.

[–]tedted88880 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not part of the swinger community, but I hear that its not that common to do more than make out. Maybe someone here has better knowlege then me? but my best guess that of that 4MM, maybe 10% or 400k are full on swapping sexy time. I've also heard that the swinger community has more benefit for the women then men.

[–]1browndelicious0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is 100% true. I think it was Patrice who said (paraphrasing) when men look to fuck other women, it's just sex. When women look to fuck other men, it's to find a replacement.

[–]Tarnsman4Life13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah doing an open relationship with someone you are casually seeing is one thing but doing it with your wife or in an LTR is another all together.

Its funny one of the women I see on a regular basis very well might be the woman from the OP's story. They "used" to swing; now only she goes out and gets action on the side. Husband downgraded in his job to "be happier"...meanwhile the wife is going nuts screwing several different guys.

lots of talk about poly in here from guys that have zero clue what they are talking about. Mainly it's just chest-thumping and talk about how alpha they are, but in this case it is nonsense. There are many types of viable relationships, and it takes many skills to make even a simple monogamous relationship be successful. I'm an experienced combat soldier, an elite strength athlete and coach, and appear to be as "alpha" as they come. To navigate poly, by far the most important skill is not developing "alpha male traits", its honest communication.

Followup: Wife and I talk a lot. We always communicated well in the past. She is in bed with me almost every night. We have hectic lives chauffeuring kids to events, sports, homework, meals, chores, etc.

  • Wife elaborated on her comment that "I haven't given Polyamory a chance." She says that I should get out and date because I shouldn't rely on her to meet all my emotional needs for affection or sex. She says it's not fair for me to complain that my needs aren't being met. She says of course they aren't. The whole point of polyamory is to have many loves and get my needs met through a combination of all of them. I shouldn't depend on any one person.

  • Wife says that she hasn't been sexually attracted to me recently and doesn't owe me sex just because we are married. She says my "constant" complaints make me particularly unattractive to her. She doesn't want to sleep with someone who is begging.

  • Wife concedes that she's on an emotional high experiencing the newness of a loving sexual relationship with her lover. She says she also gets validation from the casual sex with her FWB. She says her desires for sex are completely met by lover and FWB. When she is home with me, she is tired and stressed and busy and anything but aroused. She visits her lover to recharge.

  • Wife emphasizes that nothing is stopping me from having a lover or lovers, getting all the sex I want, and basking in the glow of new love. I shouldn't be reliant/dependent on getting those things from her. I shouldn't ask/demand what she doesn't want to freely give. I am being codependent, excessively needy, and unsupportive of her new relationships.

  • Wife says my requests for sex are suspiciously timed with her dates. She thinks I am trying to derail her plans and talk her into standing-up her lover who also has a busy life and struggles to find time. She is busy and stressed and my requests are just one more chore for her right now. I should stop being jealous and have compersion.

She is reading over my shoulder as I type this. She came home early from work after reading posts in this thread. She says my post was one sided, and she resents most people piling on her unsympathetically. She and I are together almost every day. She only sees her lover once or at most twice a week. If she doesn't feel like cuddling or having sex with me, it's perfectly understandable since she is stressed during the day, and my neediness is the straw that is breaking her back regarding time management and keeping the family functioning with chores, chauffeuring, etc.

She says if I did more of the chores, she might have more time for cuddling and might even feel appreciative and want to cuddle me.

She just said she loves me.

The problem for me is that I don't feel it. It seems I sense love through touch. Just hearing the words doesn't make me feel it. She says she will cuddle me right now, but she needs to get the work she brought home finished.

Cuddling is over. Wife kept checking her phone. She wasn't into it. I'm going out now to distract myself from negative emotions.

I got the number for a divorce lawyer this morning but haven't called. I'll wait until my emotions have cooled. Wife said I shouldn't do anything reckless when I'm upset. She says if I still want the divorce when I am level headed, she will accept that.

I'm going to see if I can get a late dinner non-date for after I fetch my daughter from science club. I have a female colleague who is single but almost certainly not romantically interested in me. At least I can have a friendly conversation, if she accepts my invitation.

This is where he failed a long time ago and many other men fail. Damn it people, never beg.

Wife says that she hasn't been sexually attracted to me recently and doesn't owe me sex just because we are married.

Nobody can be forced to have sex, BUT marriage is an exchange of the man's money for the woman's sex. That's it. That's what it always was and that is what it will be. Production for reproduction. From the male POV, if she is not delivering her part, it's over.

I guess from HER POV, marriage is a male slavery contract.

University Profs for Business/Economics/Engineering (likely since this guy left an executive position) at good schools could easily make 300k with very good hours. That's hardly this guys problem. He has no spine.

[–]Endorsed Contributorleftajar3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

With respect, I've seen the salary numbers for a major public university. They start at 40k for an adjunct professor, and max out at about 130k if you have a mountain of tenure.

[–]Staple_Stable7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Here's Berkeley's numbers for Business/Economics/Engineering:

Table 4.

http://apo.berkeley.edu/scales13_14.html

They start at around 84k and max out around 185k. Private universities likely pay more though their numbers aren't as readily available.

Note, this is just official university scales. Professors in general make much more after bonus/consulting/other compensation.

You can look at the UC compensation list to see this.

https://ucannualwage.ucop.edu/wage/

Tons of profs in the 300k+ range. A lot of these profs are super hot shots. Multiple graduate degrees, Nobel laureates, book publishers, etc. but this is nothing out of the ordinary at top universities. B/E/E and Law professors are compensated very very well.

Its good. New professors generally have to hustle and be broke for years and years, but their mid career salary compensation is generally very good. Also note that the highest paying fields are B/E/E and Law. Other fields are getting paid significantly less.

I've seen the salary file at a "good school", and the only people pulling mid-100k were law professors and professors in the MBA programme.

The president, one of the sports coaches, and the provost were mid six figures.

Nobody else.

Yes and no.

Yes, this is the cause here: To her, he downgraded himself from corporate alpha status to fatty university beta. Their perceived SMV did diverge.

No, it would not be the cause elsewhere: To other, younger women he would be a catch. There are thirsty 30 year old women out there, who would kill to be a professor's wife. Major social status upgrade. And they do not have to kill, they just need to hug him and show him some fucking respect.

All this guy needs to do is to suffocate his softy side, get a divorce and get a new wife.

Dread game would probably work on his wife (she would realize she is losing status, OTOH she has her own job) but if I was in his shoes I would just say fuck this bullshit, can't fool me again with fake signals of fake love.

She says she loves me, but my interpretation is that she loves me as a friend and loves the stability of our life together. She says loves me, but her actions don't match her words, in my opinion. I'm sure she would disagree.

  • she loves the stability which he provides her. This is the opening for dread game.
  • she is getting the stability for a cheap price: a little bit of lying "I love you". Much cheaper than duty sex.

If your long-time wife comes to you and says she wants to open marriage there are a few things that are almost certainly true:

  • She already has a lover picked out. If you say no she's going to fuck him anyway.
  • If you sleep with another woman she'll be upset. The plan is for her to get outside sex, not you.
  • As soon as she brings it up you may as well mark your calendar - no matter how you react you're about 90% likely to end up in divorce court within a year or so.

The worst is the guys that accept being betas in polyamory and enjoy being cucked.I can't even comprehend them.

[–]garlicextract1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They honestly should be extinct by now. But I guess they were able to dirty the human gene pool with their pathetic trash genes, before they embraced cuckoldry.

[–]RejectionEquality 12 points12 points12 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have investigated this open relationship nonsense extensively over the course of many years, and the message is clear to me. It is okay for men to have multiple partners, but it is not okay for women to have multiple partners. Throughout history, men have been known to keep mistresses. That's because men are better equipped to deal with such circumstances whereas women are far too emotional to handle more than one cock at a time. Like it or not, that's just the way it is. "Polyamory" is just a made-up, female-favoring idea that gives women the ability to rationalize AFBB.

Which is why most cultures have had polygamy at some point in time, but polyandry is extremely rare.

[–]dman80002 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Polygamy is common while polyandry is rare because men can have several children at once while women can only mate with one man at a time.

In a society where food is scarce, its highly advantageous for several women to marry one man. Polyandry severely limits how many children the males can have.

[–]Endorsed Contributoraaron_the_just1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Polygamy also is common because men have no difficulty at all having several women in their life, but women tend to have difficulty being loyal to more than one man at a time.

Psychologists who've studied affairs have noticed this. Men are perfectly happy having sex with both a wife and a mistress, but when a woman has an affair, she usually stops having sex with her husband.

lmao @ all the polyamory guys developing ED

is it because polyamory made them or because polyamory preselects the beta in them?

[–]∞ Mod | RP Vanguardbsutansalt41 points42 points43 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I remember a study that got brought up on the Tom Leykis show about a year or so ago. They found that men with ED didn't have a problem when a nubile nurse walked into the room and started touching the guys. Turns out a huge percentage of guys who think they have ED are actually just turned off by thier wives/gf's.

[–]PasswordIsntHAMSTER-5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As a poly guy with (congenital) ED, I've always closely studied alternative sexual behaviors in search of something that would get me up. I haven't found that, but I've found something much more precious: intimacy, passion, and trust.

For the dick, I basically binge on Cialis. Shamelessly. I had hang-ups about trying it, but once you're fucking away your worries it comes off as a great idea.

For the record, I've been sexually active since I was 15, and have had ED ever since. I've tried TRP before it was called TRP, my dick didn't raise, and in retrospect I just hurt a whole lot of people.

Also, since I'm soapboxing a little, let me tell you about the only other polyamorist I know in real life. He quite successfully manages to cultivate two to three relationships at once, most of which happen with beautiful girls that are so in love with him they won't sleep with anyone else. That lucky fucker's got it going on, and he's the very definition of beta.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I developed erectile disfunction a few weeks after the relationship opened. It might have been the very first night, because my wife declined sex from me for at least 6 weeks after opening. No medicine has helped. Both my urologist and psychologist think I have repressed anger and feel emasculated.

My guess is that his T took a dive bomb.

Things like this make me wonder how there are people that can say "that's a load of bs" when I tell them about the red pill, etc.

It's honestly baffling to me. I mean, I realize society reinforcing the narrative is powerful. But I mean some stuff is just so pants-on-head obvious. I just don't get how people can honestly not see it.

If society started saying the sky is purple, I don't care if every last motherfucker tried to tell me it was purple, and use shaming tactics when I pointed to the sky and implored them to look again, I would still believe it was blue.

I just don't get it. Poor guy, my heart goes out to him. I'm an introvert too, but it's not the death sentence it sounds like. The pill was bitter, you can watch the process just by browsing my Reddit history. But after a couple of months I now feel like I've had a new lease on life. Got laid two weeks ago, which was pretty great. But what's most important has truly been learning to not give a fuck, and the concept of nexting a ho over losing sleep over one.

I miss the dewey eyed optimism of the Matrix. But I thank TRP every time I read a story like this, and know I'll never be giving some floozy half of my net worth.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This chap's wife had him down as a total chump, so much so she could just come right out and say she's sleeping with other men. And she knew full well he wouldn't be getting any from other women. If you're that bad you really need to take a good look at yourself in the mirror.

That was so brutal... I had to stop reading it.

Fucking depressing. She's ruthlessly abusing that guy.

Fucking remorseless monster that she is.

Needless to say he needs to cut his losses and move on. There's absolutely no way possible anything of value can even be remotely salvaged from that kind of savage manipulation and obsessive cruelty.

That woman is a sociopath. That dude could drop dead tomorrow and she'd be happy about the social security checks that start to roll in.

He needs to serve her with papers yesterday - and then file a restraining order against her to get her out of the house. Remove her like a tumor.

Remember though, as grotesque as this woman seems, all you have to do to remove power from a sick fuck like that is to put them in your rear view mirror.

They only have power when it affects you emotionally. Once you reach the peak of the "Giving Zero Fucks" mountain - the whole thing becomes non-consequential.

She's empowered now because she's at the apex point of alpha fucks beta bucks - but as soon as he divorces her the house of cards have a good chance of crumbling.

She'll cease to be a part time fuck toy for alphas, because the hypergamy switch will get kicked on. She'll turn to one of those dudes she's been fucking and make a power play for one of them to step up to full time status. My instinct tells me she'll get shot down.

Overnight she'll go from "poly superstar" to "divorced single mom".

Those naughty weekend ego trip getaway Friday nights will turn into her just getting banged out by dudes who don't want to commit.

Yeah... Yeah.. I'll see you next week.

It's hard to see from the inside that dude's situation, but he still holds the ace of spades in the card game. Her propped up self view is contingent upon how long he chooses to play to lose. The moment he starts playing to win - the entire dynamic changes radically.

Your problem is inside you, not inside your wife. Do not divorce her, she is a great value in your life, as you recognize.

Consider building your confidence with sex workers. Fuck them with dildos, leave your junk in your pants. Also try escort services for actual dates (dinner, dancing, etc). You have been out of the game and could benefit from some practical experience being romantic with a new person.

What?

You guys have reached a new low. I cant even adequately express just how fucked up this entire thread is. These people have been married for decades. By his own admission they have had a wonderful relationship for the vast majority of that. They hit a bump and everyone took that chance to swoop in and destroy what little hope he still had. And you did that based on a few paragraphs written when he was down and with no word whatsoever from the other side. You convinced him to divorce the love of his life, the mother of his children. You are probably the most destructive thing that has ever happened to this family. You guys are sick. You need help.

If your SO of thirty years suddenly stops sleeping with you so she can have sex with two other men, then when you confront her about it, she guilt trips you about having emotional issues that YOU need to deal with by YOURSELF and that it's not her fault, I would NOT fault you for considering divorce or for others recommending divorce.

And he makes it clear that he's tried to communicate his feelings to her multiple times, and he's even gone as far as to show her this thread, and her response was "You've not even given polyamory a chance"? You've got to be kidding me.

I'm sorry, but divorce and no divorce are both valid options here, but I side with divorce as I would not want to spend one more month with someone that emotionally abusive, someone who takes their shit and blames their SO for it. "Bump in the road" indeed.

I hope that the kids are on the older side of the teen scale, that way they will understand what is happening and be less damaged from her actions.

On the upside, at their ages she is just trading on her lingering SMV. There is a very good chance a truckload of karma is heading for her and she has destroyed the possibility of a happy family life into her quickly approaching old age. [–]Clauderoughly[S] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Only in very limited circumstances.

Basically a guy can have multiple women, and still maintain a loving marriage (I, myself am proof of that).

Women can not have multiple men and maintain a loving marriage because women getting cock on the side, destroys the pair bond mechanism.

"a little over weight but in good shape, diabetic but it's well controlled."

Lesson here is don't fuck up your health and get ED from making bad lifestyle choices. He is obviously in denial about how bad his health is. If your a type 2 diabetic you seriously fucked up your health. If you were a woman would you want to put up with a man who has ED because he couldn't be bothered to eat less junk food or work out every once in a while?

The red pill gives shit to women who get fat and then have their libido drop like rocks. We should give the same shit to men who don't take care of themselves and get diabetes and ED leaving their wives in the same sexual desert. Fuck that shit.

TL:DR Your health is everything. Fuck up your health fuck up your life.

LoL seriously what is with these delusional people that think they are healthy because they had a salad for lunch?

I mean the guy actually said he is in "good shape" when he's overweight and diabetic.

Yeah insanity levels and denial is reaching critical mass. I don't even when people talk about health anymore. Its like people pick up a magazine at the store and read 5 weird weight loss tips and then assume they are now a fucking nutritionist, dietictian and obesity researcher. Shit makes me crazy.

The open relationship merely served as the vehicle, but I agree she lost attraction to him looooooong ago.

Ok... before this all gets out of hand, I want to put in my two cents.

Poly is awesome. IF you're going into a relationship with that status clearly defined at the beginning. I have been with my current SO (she fucking earned her promotion from plate) for two years. She's had other boyfriends, I've had other plates. We've had threesomes. I can go find a piece any time I want and I still have someone at home with dinner ready if I tell her to make it. She can go fuck other guys if she wants (she hasn't in months) as long as she follows my rules: use condoms, and if I tell her I want her home on a specific night she will be home. In short, I command my household, which is the way it has to be if you want the best of both worlds. I give her an inch. If she tries to take a mile I yank her leash and spank her. This is what is expected of a man, and if you don't do this for your women, especially in a poly relationship, you will get no respect in return.

The guy in the story made fatal mistakes and it is a lesson every "regular guy" needs to learn if he wants to open a relationship:

  1. Virgins at marriage. Dumbest fucking thing ever. No explanation needed.

  2. Opening a relationship after 20 years. Just get divorced. She doesn't want you any more because she's used to you and bored with it.

  3. White Knight. If he wanted to stay married to her he should have turned hardcore alpha as soon as she suggested an open relationship. You can not be the homemaker dad type and expect your wife to come home for your floppy cock when she's hot enough to pull tail that's 15 years younger. She wants excitement. Be a fucking man and give it to her.

Ultimately, my point is that the longer a relationship goes, the harder it is to open it. Among actual poly people (those of us who have always lived the lifestyle rather than bringing it up as an excuse to ride the CC), divorce rates are extremely low and our relationship satisfaction stays higher for MUCH longer. Maintain frame and set rules, earn respect, and don't be a whining little bitch.

Tl;Dr: fuck you, you lazy piece of shit. Read the words

Dude. I'd rather be on death row than let this bitch get away with this shit..

[–]edtofe010 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel so at home here , fml

[–]Jsnoopy930 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck. This man needs to grow a pair.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If I were in this guy's situation I'd swallow my pride and avoid divorce for the time being. That way both them and their kids have a stable lifestyle with a high standard of living.

He said they don't fight, and he doesn't have any complaints about her other than the fact that she fucks other dudes. They have three teenage kids, a divorce will fuck them up.

I realize some might consider this blue pill, but he needs to suck it up for now, at least until his kids are all moved out. If they were childless, fine, drop the whore. But the kids don't deserve that kind of punishment.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Teenagers will understand. I lived in the home of my uncle's when his wife cheated on him. My cousins, even down to the 13 year olds understood it wasn't shit that should be. It must entirely depend on their maturity but I would say if they can handle seeing their dad be treated like shit, they should be able to handle him taking back his power.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But she isn't really treating him like shit, just emotionally neglecting him. It's one thing for a woman to be vindictive towards her husband, and another for her to be indifferent.

I pray this guy is trolling, this is so bad. This is why men need TRP mindset, no one should let a person walk all over them like this. What an awesome example of everything this Sub can help fix.

[–]pogiface 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He needs a trip to Asia, Thailand to help fix that issue. In fact, he is a professor and if he has money saved up he could just abandon the whole ship and retire in thailand, live out his days with plenty of women. He could teach while there. Complete exit

This guy has been reduced to the status of a home appliance. Nobody wants to fuck the dish washing machine.

[–]the99percent10 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Guess what happens next? Reddit telling the guy to suck it up and take it like a man!

[–]libchh 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This post depresses me. Can someone link to the thread about the guy who's girlfriend said "lets take a break so I can fuck around on vacation" and it turned out the guy started boning someone else instead, which obviously drove her nuts.

Stories like this I just feel so bad for the guy because it is his fault for not putting the foot down. It's just like a child will constantly test what shit they can get away with, but when a woman does it it drains your soul dry.

[–]nataliieportman0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL This is fucking pathetic. Jesus Christ...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Erectile dysfunction my ass. He subconciously does NOT want to have anything to do with his wife's pussy. Everything is OK with his D. Just divorce...

[–]Inviernosolo0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Cannot be true. Too obvious.

[–]Clauderoughly[S] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have seen it in r/l waaaay too many times, during my time within the local poly community here in Vancouver.

[–]myrpaccount1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If this is true, the wife has fucked herself. My guess is the guy will recover after a bit of time, maybe even faster if he finds his way here. He seems like he is a capable guy and fairly driven so he will end up with someone younger than his wife.

The wife will quickly find out that the guys she's banging don't want a LTR with a post wall slut and end up wondering why her husband is such an asshole.

[–]watereol-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What an idiot. Sad to say, but survival of the fittest etc.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He lives with her. He could easily put something in her food to kill her libido.
