The other day I was browsing Etsy for gift ideas for my bf for Valentine's Day. I was hoping for stuff like heart shaped picture frames or something else cute/sweet and figured Etsy was the perfect place to look for that. I searched "valentines gifts for him" and oh my God. There were some cute gifts, but what really stood out to me were these:

  1. Candles labeled "light me when you want a BJ"
  2. Hand towels embroidered with "cum rag"
  3. Underwear with "this [picture of a rooster] belongs to [name]"
  4. Chocolates that spell out "I love your penis"
  5. Chocolates that spell out "Best dick ever!"
  6. A card saying "you're the only meat for my taco"

And those were just the ones on the FIRST PAGE OF RESULTS. Like Jesus Christ, when did Valentines Day become so disgusting?? Obviously it can be a sexy event but I just don't see what's sexy or romantic about a towel labeled "cum rag" or a candle designed for demanding blowjobs. Why don't I just cut the crap and get him a card that says "think of me as your personal sex object"? There's just something really repulsive and cheap feeling about taking a holiday that's supposed to be about love and appreciating your SO and making it entirely about sex instead.
