I was on a FaceTime date with a guy I’d met online and had been texting with. We’d talked on the phone, he’d seemed fine, nice, educated, employed, attractive, dressed ok (better than most men, not that that’s saying much but still), and appeared to be clean in his photos. During the date he left to go answer his door and I saw his living room. It was disgusting. I think he’s a low-key hoarder. How would you not clean this up before a date????? Yuck this isn't uncommon unfortunately. It took me two weeks and several bottles of bleach to get my ex boyfriend's house clean when I moved in. He would even throw his nasty socks behind the television. He was too tight to get the porch fixed. You could actually see the damp course from outside and wood lice plus ants would get in. I just don't understand it. I love having a clean and tidy home. I grew up in a house so dirty we had mealworm and carpet beetle infestations. It is triggering. If they can make themselves look nice then they can do the same for their homes.
