I've seen arrangements like this on craigslist, usually they aren't as obviously pathetic as this, but it's ALWAYS a thinly veiled "live-in-girlfriend" arrangement.

This just exemplifies how men LIKE to have money to hold over our heads. If we have free room and board they think it means we owe them sexual and emotional labor. Also interesting how he doesn't want to say how the last arrangement ended. I would bet 500 he made a move on her while "cuddling" and she dipped when she finally could.

These sex for rent arrangements are unfortunately very common in Vancouver and Toronto -- but especially Vancouver. I remember when I lived there I was taken aback by the number of postings for those.

Apparently, the women most affected by this are women fleeing domestic abuse. They only get a small stipend of like 400 or 600 dollars for housing which isn't enough in a city like Vancouver. So they end up trying to negotiate through this by offering companionship but not sex. Also homelessness is a huge problem in Vancouver and you don't want to be in the streets. The other predatory type of housing was those specifically asking for international students -- which meant subpar housing at a high price. There is also cleaning for rent -- which just sounds like a potential sex for rent situation. All these ways to exploit women. Sidenote: it also makes me think of the living- caregiver program, where women have to live with a family as an au-pair and there are many cases of abuse and assault and yeeeeet...

Edit : I forgot to mention that another factor that exacerbates this is that usually vacancy rates are close to 1%. So imagine if you were a woman with a budget of 400 dollars/600 dollars on the street and you had to deal with other 90% of the places being occupied with tenants. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

There is so much that alludes to like this in Craigslist ads for renters/roommates in all cities. Check out your areas, you'll find at least one scrote offering $0 rent for women only and for "stuff". Craigslist Los Angeles alone is a goldmine.
