Why is that you guys think that women choosing men for financial reasons over aesthetic reasons means that the woman finds the man unnattractive?

Let me explain myself. Maybe my case is a bit extreme but I've literally had friends say they "dry up" at the thought of a guy being broke. I'm in uni and I have a friend. She's cute and plus size let's call her Abby. For most of the year Abby was hanging out with this guy for a while. The guy is very conventionally attractive. Tall, fit, masculine athlete all of that and best of all he was attracted to plus size women. So he ended up confessing to Abby that he had feelings for her. So I told my friend that she should get a piece of that. She told me that she wouldn't. I asked her why. She told me that because he's studying a "broke course". Meaning he's getting a degree that she believes won't make money. She said she couldn't be attracted to him for this reason. I was surprised hearing this. When I told my pretty conventional friend (skinny and very petite), let's call her Dee, she laughed and said that she agreed with Abby's logic.

I told Abby then she should just be with him for the short term. She said no because she didn't want him to get attached to her when she didn't want him like that. She did end up messing with him physically once but after that they stopped completely. I don't even know if they're friends now. It was at this point that I learnt that a man's income can definitely contribute to his sex appeal.

I get confused on this sub when men make it seem like women can't physically be attracted to a guy's earning potential. Even on the red pill women sub someone wrote, "I don't understand how women can get wet for a man who doesn't provide" and it had tons of upvotes. Personally, I've always kind of assumed that money symbolised a hustler in a way and that makes a dude sexy for me. Abby told me she would've at least considered him if he was at least "ambitious". As in maybe he made money in his spare time since he didn't have a demanding course. This I kind of understand. My partner started to venture out in jobs this year and started earning a bit of income and this just made him sexier to me. Money, especially when you have the ambition to earn it can make you sexier than a guy coasting on his looks. Yes looks matter but a dude who seems like he might be broke will make most women dry up the second she finds out.

I don't understand why guys here keep aspiring to be the guy that a woman only wants to sleep with and not commit to. I feel like it's the exact opposite for women. Most of us want commitment. Like one guy said something along the lines of, "attractive broke guys get to be the friends with benefits while the ugly rich guys have to wine and dine and put effort." Most guys (and most of us here) aren't rich so most women won't be putting up with you for money. The majority of women will be dating the average guy because she has some base line level of attraction to him. But I also believe that just showing that you have a stable income and have good earning potential may even increase that attraction for women. Ambition and money contribute to a guy's sexiness.

Obviously the most successful person will be an attractive man with money. But I just feel like the idea of having money not contributing to your sex appeal is overstated here.
