So I've been lifting 4 days a week and boxing for just about 6 months now. Thought I'd report in on some of the changes I've seen in people's reaction to me. FYI, I'm 6'2, 23 with good facial genetics, so YMMV. Also, I played rugby and soccer in high school and college, so I was still carrying quite a bit of lean muscle.

Jan 2016: Weight-220 Pounds. Body Fat-25% June 2016: Weight-210 Pounds. Body Fat-15%

I used StrongLifts for the first 4 months, and then switched to my own routine that focuses more on explosive power.

I've got a 4 pack now, still struggling with a little bit of fat covering the bottom abs and some love handles. I've got a pretty good V-taper going on now, so I look fit in t-shirts.

Changes I've seen in people:

  1. I don't need to approach girls at bars. If I stand anywhere long enough, they will come up to me and start talking. I've also had my ass slapped and chest groped on various occasions over the last few months in bars.

  2. Plates are easier to control. I have built in dread now, so all my plates put in extra effort to keep me happy. It's pretty different than before. I don't spend a dime on women anymore. My various plates will cook for me, bring me booze and fuck me anywhere, anytime.

  3. Respect from other men has gone up. Weirdly, other guys will come up and just talk to me in public. I get the "nod" from other dudes who lift.

  4. Free shit/discounts. I get free stuff from cute girls who serve me at restaurants. I actually got a free sandwich today, the girl looked at me, smiled and said "It's on the house". A few other times I've gotten discounts for nothing.

All of this contributes to number 5 which is....

  1. You realize you're better than other people. When I walk around, all I see are guys who are skinny fat, or just fat. Their eyes are dead. Their vessels are weak, which weakens their mind and spirit. Building a strong vessel has increased my creativity, energy and confidence. People can sense that shit, they can see it in your eyes.

I don't care much about my plates at all now. I wake up every morning, excited to lift, to hit a new PR. To go to boxing. To work on my business and side projects. Just 6 months of lifting and it already feels like playing life on easy mode.

By the way, I'm black. So for any minorities reading this, no excuses. No surrender.
