I think for me it’s mostly about character and responsibility.

Can they get and keep a job, do they keep up with chores, do they take their turn caring for kids and pets? If 5hey don’t do that, they’re out.

And then there’s the character stuff, lying, cheating, bullying, and so on. Those things are dealbreakers.

Not prioritizing the health of the relationship. Lots of compromises are necessary when each partner puts the relationship first. Unwillingness to make the effort to negotiate those concessions necessary for the long and short-term needs of the partnership (not the individual partners) would be a dealbreaker for me.

I probably have a lot more deal-breakers than most people because I'm a perfectionist and overly critical and picky.

1: Entitlement - believing you deserve something just because. This one is tough because a lot of women are this way. If they're expecting gifts and to be worshipped right out of the gate... see ya

2: Not taking care of your body - This is just going to lead to problems down the road.

3: Hard drug use - I'm ok with a girl who smokes weed or drinks occasionally, but I'm not ok with really anything else. Also if they drank/smoked all of the time, it would probably be a no.

4: Religious fanatic - I'm an atheist so it probably just wouldn't work.

5: Cheating or past cheating behavior - I'm not going to invest my time into a woman by getting into a LTR if she is high-risk for cheating. If I know she cheated before, I'm not going to date.

There's probably more but I just can't think of them

I'm a guy. I also consider it a huge red flag if on a first date a girl doesn't at least offer to pay her way or if she brings other people with her. I had one date where she brought three of her girl friends and expected me to pay. I just left. That's highly disrespectful.

I'm assuming this person is someone we already find physically attractive. So what would be a deal breaker that would prevent me from pursuing a relationship? For me, it would be:

- just being unpleasant. If a woman is loud, excessively moody or combative, I actively avoid her.

- high maintenance. Someone who constantly needs to be given gifts or taken out. That entitlement is a massive turnoff.

- outdoorsy. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm someone who prefers going to work, coming home and chilling. I only occasionally go out for 'fun'. Her lifestyle has to be compatible with that.
