The mistake is seeing it as inflated egos, instead of fragile egos. A lot what you're describe is just bluster -- about the very thing that deep down many if not most women feel they will be judged on the most. But in any case, truly confident people comfortable in their skin wouldn't feel the need to gas themselves up all the time.

Everything starts making sense when you understand a lot of this stuff has to do with a lack of accountability. Women do not hold each other accountable, and men don’t either for fear of being called misogynistic or incels.

Modern women can say and do almost anything without repercussion because they are not held accountable. Their egos go unchecked. Men cannot do this because they are generally held accountable for what they say and do.

This is why women are praised for saying they’re 10/10 perfect kweens that deserve the world, whereas men would be absolutely clowned for saying they’re perfect kings that deserve everything.

You can’t say this without considering toxic masculinity that’s still left society. Women hype each other up by calling themselves gorgeous queens, it’s easier for them to call themselves this if others also affirm it back to them and hype them up. Men however don’t do this amongst eachother because toxic masculinity says calling another man beautiful makes them gay or something. If women call themselves beautiful nobody gives a shi. Two men calling eachother beautiful is like “haha GaYy” If more men would hype themselves up, and other men would affirm it, it maybe wouldn’t look weird or arrogant. To be fair, probably if a woman says I am a gorgeous queen but nobody affirms it back to her probably everyone would just think she is a bit delusional because she is the only person thinking she is. However in this age and time, even women who aren’t the smallest size or conventionally beautiful get hyped up. And I think there is nothing wrong with that. It’s way better than people taking lives because they cannot accept their appearance and feel ugly.

When you look at queer men, they have no problem saying they look good and glowing etc., even the bigger gay men often hype themselves up (like Frank from the Circle season 4), they embrace exactly who they are and love themselves for it. Straight men seem to have an issue with doing this because nobody has really affirmed it back to them or they believe nobody would. And we are taught that men don’t need to be hyped or called beautiful or whatever, which is internalized toxic masculinity, that’s also the reality of the current society. So yeah maybe if guys would start hyping each other up, they might be able to change that discourse. It’s not gay to call a good looking guy, a good looking guy. It’s not coincided to feel like a king and hype yourself up. Unless you think it does. Change starts with you.

It's not ok either way.

Why do some women have a double-standard about boasting about their attractiveness?The same reason some men have a double-standard about boasting about their income or career but if a woman does the same they are viewed negatively.

Society places weight on women's beauty and men's credentials, leading to some in both categories just accepting that as the benchmark of their worth and then if not objectively met, can lead to over-selling their reality.

But 95% of all extremely handsome guys I’ve ever met have been disastrously full of themselves. The ones that weren’t went through a humbling “ugly” phase at some point in their lives. Women doing this IS a turn off to men. But unlike women, we can't control our sex drive or lust for youthful beauty above all else, so we ignore it and still go after the vain beauties. If men made better mate choices women would be held accountable and would adapt their behavior.

I know that given biological differences, choosing a mate based on a more holistic evaluation is tougher for men than for women in many ways. Especially young men. But it can be done.

I personally know men and women who do it, they usually form groups of friends and start circlejerking. I make fun of them, not because I'm a negative asshole that hates seeing people feel good about themselves, but because I always find it so cringy past a certain level.

Dont get me wrong, feel good about yourself, lift eachother up, be supportive, but stop fucking lying. I call that shit toxic positivity, deluding yourself into thinkint you re hot shit until reality eventually knocks you on your ass.

A girl i was seeing and i were hanging out with one of her friends. She would kill the mood whenever we d kiss or even smile at eachother saying she l never find someone. She goes on to say how her crush rejected her because "he only dates skinny girls".

The girl goes "but you areeee skinny omg" when she s literally obese. The friend looks at me, and having struggled a lot with weight loss myself, i tell her if she wants to lose weight she should try xyz, I even suggeeted all 3 of us go for a run next morning. And i was demonised for it, i never saw them again, because I implied she s fat and tried to help her...

If I can't be truthful around someone, we can't be friends. Im dead tired of putting on masks for work and family I wont do that shit around the people that are supposed to accept me for who I am and what I think.

When a girl tells another girl she is hot and should have high standards... that's not actually either of them being stuck up or having an inflated opinion of themself. I mean just saying, the first sentence of your post is really weird, you're saying people are arrogant for praising other people. Like you've immediately included something that just doesn't belong in your argument. And that makes me think your problem isn't with women having high opinions of themselves so much as it is with men not supporting each other like women do.

Anyway ... women aren't arguing it is or should be illegal or anything like that for men to be arrogant. Just that a lot of the time women don't like it when they are...it isn't easy to be certain flavours of arrogant and attractive...it is possible but involves a degree of difficulty.

And that's ok, right? You don't have to find the yass queen crowd attractive either...they are allowed to have their opinions of themselves and each other and of you and of other men. Just like you have opinions about yourself and other men and of women.

Women are going to judge you just like you judge them.
