Any reason is a valid reason to break up with someone, coming from someone with a relatively high count for my age. It's not ok to just walk from a commitment because you found out something very ordinary and normal but to you undesirable (like n count, or debt, or that they vote differently to you or that they once used to think Jordan Peterson was cool) that you hadn't bothered to ask about before making the commitment. I don't agree that someones history doesn't matter, because it shaped them as a person and it shows what kind of person they are (or were, because it is possible for someone to change). So someones sexual history also does matter for a relationship. (Probably everyone would agree that at least in case of a rapist, it matters.)

However, in my opinion, you shouldn't date someone for weeks or even months and not talk about the subjects and moral values that are important to you. So if you consider "body count" important and talk about it early on, you don't end up with a long term partner whose body count you don't like, and as a consequence there is no need to break up with a long term girlfriend (or boyfriend), because of their high body count (unless they lied about their body count, which of course is a red flag).

I consider it perfectly fine when someone cares about their partners body count and prefers a partner with a low body count. However I consider it hypocritical for someone to absolutely want a partner with a much lower voluntary body count than their own.

If someone can't respect someone because they have a slutty past, then one of the foundational concepts for a healthy relationship isn't there. lololol i love chatGPT. it sounds very rational and even.....compassionate. it is missing the ability to perceive things as a human which seems to be a good things since humans are tainted by feelings of greed, jealousy, desires for power and influence etc.

i think it's a reasonable answer..in theory. in reality, someone's past can help to explain how the person in present is. but really the present is all that matters so, if they have this elaborate past but in the present are someone you like and want to have a relationship with, i think it'd be really insane to obsess over their past. the way i see most people here obsessing about it mostly comes from the need to control and be "special" in their partners eyes. which is cringey. someone who is the "best" isn't that insecure, they own who they are and are always willing to improve (for themselves above all), and they don't think it's reasonable to demand or even wish for any person to be perfect for them, and to bend to their will. but yeah, this sort of accepting and open approach to relationships really isn't that practical for humans unfortunately. it's not that they're sort of imperfect, in my experience they're extremely imperfect. but instead of demanding them to change i just sort of create a wall between us instead and accept our differences. i'm not perfect either though and i do my best to change in ways that feel right and will make my partner happier and i'm happy to do so bc he's the best.

i think lots of humans are stuck in their ways and they define themselves by their pasts and define others by their pasts too, which is just so silly and retarded. and probably a part of why lots of relationships are miserable. change is the only constant people! and now is really all you have.
