Feminists generally state the same thing the rest of those do. They seek the uplifting and social and systemic equality of their target in society, with feminists' being "of the female sex", BLM being "of the African American race", ASPCA being "of animal welfare", etc, etc.

Equal Rights arguments are also not just about explicit laws that say "XYZ can't do this thing because they are XYZ". None of those rights organizations are about that. Equal Rights Organizations tackle such things as:

"The written laws generally don't defend XYZ doing a thing to ABC, or might tell XYZ not to, but XYZ will do it anyway and then lie and claim they aren't, and no one will believe ABC when they call it out."

"The written laws don't say anything about the issue ABC faces- for or against- because the lawmakers refuse to believe the thing is even real, and therefore don't address it."

"Lawmakers write laws regulating things about ABC based on ABC's anatomy, but those same lawmakers know nothing about ABCs anatomy."

"In science, safety regulations, medicine, XYZ is considered the default, and ABC is considered an abnormal version of the default, and therefore science and medicine care nothing about studying ABCs anatomy or designing research based on conditions that ABC faces which XYZ doesn't or rarely faces."

"ABC is claimed to deserve the societal issue they face because they are biologically prone to it (when actually, they are being socially groomed toward it, and wouldn't behave that way if they were treated more similarly to XYZ as kids".

We all unquestionably allowed it in, but now we are learning about how harmful it is.

yes bc we do not have a civilization set up based around what makes people healthy and happy, or what is good for us as a community

we are just set up where a bunch of people motivated by money over health are giving us products that were never intended to be healthy

So yes, culture change is needed to get parents and social leaders to come together and protect the kids from rotting their brains on social media (especially girls who are disproportionately impacted).

i'm 38, when i was reading about feminism growing up the concerns were that advertising did this to us (especially young women)

i dont disagree with you about how social media is bad for us, its just the same old shit about how capitalism (a system built around valuing money, not health) is not healthy for us.

Duluth model etc is good IMHO against insanity to redefine rape to be things that are not rape.

That doesn't mean that things people want to call rape aren't bad and are not damaging and should not get criminalized. But I find the whole "made to penetrate" being the same thing as "being forcefully penetrated" to be annoying and frustrating and insulting to anyone with higher than a room temperature IQ. There's a bodily harm and physical trauma component that's just erased by this linguistic busybody nonsense. At the end of the day, being forced to shoot someone with a gun is not actually the same thing as being shot by a gun.

This whole mission of perverting words until everything is linguistically identical and meaningless when semantically they are not the same is so extremely dumb and contemptible and Kafkaesque. It's all that's bad about the left. A cathedral of meaningless words.

I don't. I actually really like the term "egalitarian" and I tend to use it more especially because people like you believe that feminist means man-hating radfems. They're not exactly synonyms, because feminist implies that you want women to have same rights and opportunities as men, while egalitarian implies men and women should both have the same rights and opportunities. It's a subtle difference.

It's because it's a charged word, there's more to the definition than just the surface level definition.

I don't know about that. The word "incel" originally meant "involuntary celibate", but now the dictionary definition also changed:

But that's largely because a) incel is an extremely recent term, even the original coinage is less than 40 years old and b) the dictionary definition for feminism is just the most concise definition without going into the history and baggage, and c) no one would dare redefining feminism as anything other than the PRd version that is portrayed in the mainstream.

General/plural "you", sorry. I've seen so many people make this argument that being egalitarian is the same as being a feminist, pointing at the limited definition as de facto proof. It's such a flawed argument because it's immediately apparent they're not the same if one can agree with one but not the other.

And the obvious true argument they're trying to make is "you're not really an egalitarian if you're not a feminist", ignoring all the ideological baggage of the term.
