This is an odd one to me but I've noted women take issue with men who vocally go for their looksmatch (or below), but not above.

If you're a bunch of people talking and an average dude says that he isn't any catch (due to his looks) and that he goes for similar women, who're a little more plain, maybe a bit rough around the edges, then it happens. Present women who hear this will frown, not say what the problem is, but frown, big time. Perplexingly, even attractive woman will frown at this.

But it seems entirely reasonable to me. Going were you're more likely to be welcome makes sense? There's also likely to be certain similarities and shared experience of how the world treats you.

If a plump fat girl says she's not going to bother with any hot dudes but snag herself someone more average I wouldn't see anything off about it. I might've even heard someone say that, I don't recall. Seemed so normal and sensible that it didn't commit to memory probably, lol.

Is this some sort of must-maintain-mainstream-social-narrative kind of thing? You know blue pill platitudes like "No, what matters is who we are on the inside!"
