Women usually don't get into LTR's with men who are of lower status than themselves and if they do, they break up with them at some point. 'Status' is usually a combinbation of things and it also encompasses (overall life) competence. If he is 'broke' but he shows signs of competence (verbal fluency, health) he still has status. Because that is status. Status doesn't mean having a shiny car or other bs. Women don't want to be with men who have overall less life competence than themselves, it's a huge turn off and anecdotes as well as research reflects this.

'Broke' men also usually have very poor relationship satisfaciton and outcomes which research also shows. Even (educated) men who are supposed to be purely visual select via long-term qualities.

These nuances usually go over peoples heads here.

No one (women or men) really care about compatibility in a hookup. All you really need to a base level of physical attraction.

The issue I have with your post is the extreme hyperbole of "every single woman". No, not every single woman.

If we interpret your post in a slightly less extreme way I'd agree with it. Money and status are not the end-all be-all most scammers present them as.

Money and status serve to enhance you, not to compensate. I'd also disagree that not giving a fuck about them is the way to go. The ideal end goal is for you to be "that guy" but ALSO have money and status.

So I know anecdotal evidence doesn't help anyone. but I've never been attracted to men who didn't rank pretty high up on the status ladder of whatever environment I met them in.

Can't speak for every woman, but personally speaking, a man had to have had social skills and been at least somewhat successful in whatever environment I met him at. Thats status. Money is harder because you can't really tell. You only find out later, whereas status and social skills are immediately obvious.

I think this would be more accurate if, rather than three different scenarios, you considered that there may be two different types of women.

Woman 1 only goes for men who are high in status. Woman 2 has a specific type (based in looks & personality) that she goes for.

The magical thing about Woman 2 is that there is so much variety in what that type could be depending on the woman’s personal tastes. Which… really isn’t strange. This revelation about “that guy” is not groundbreaking at all, it’s just confirming that women have individual preferences. Like every human being does.

I don’t care about money or status in general. A guy with a lot of money or high status is intimidating to me. It’s a world I don’t feel like I can fit into so I avoid those men as a rule.

And what makes a guy “that guy” for me has everything to do with the way he treats me. Looks are not that important. Once I catch feels he’ll be the hottest man on the planet to me regardless.

Isn't this like self fulfilling or something? Please correct me on the term, but like, you're basically waiting on any woman to sleep with a handsome man quickly and making it easy for the man, and then claiming, "Hey, there was something there to that guy!"

When in reality, you're giving their emotions too much credit. It's all about giving their mind the idea that this is "the story". "Omg he might be someone I'm meant to meet. This isn't a boring normal day. This is one I'll remember. This is part of my story!" That shouldn't get any more credit than it deserves. They delude themselves into thinking guys are more than they are.

Status is local. Money is only one form of status.

The broke guy in a band has status in a specific context. The surfer guy in Thailand also has status. Status is attractive to women and part of what makes “that guy”.

Personally, this doesn’t work too well for me because I prioritize a man’s finances/occupation above his looks.

So if I had the choice between a man who takes complete care of me or a man who looks and smells exactly like Theo James…its the former man for me. It’s important to note most women aren’t as atrocious as me though so take what I say with a grain of salt.
