They seem to flip flop on this narrative based on their agenda. So like they'll complain about how men today can't keep up, theres not that many men that can make more or have more status than them, so they put out these articles in mainstream media complaining women are having to "date down". They say that a real attractive man has his shit together and earns well, has a good reputation, and degrees, etc.

None of that would matter for attractiveness if it was just about their looks, like for women, where men don't care about womens wealth and status much.

Then on the other hand they'll say most men are unattractive, that women say most men are chopped. And in this way they push the feminist narrative that our grandmothers and female ancestors actually weren't attracted to their husbands, they were basically just sex slaves.

In reality looks, wealth, status, game/personality all play crucial roles for attractiveness in men. Most men aren't chopped, its just that they don't stand out when judged purely on looks because thats not what they are for.

Like if you take attractive men and AI gender swap them, they most likely will result in attractive women. Whereas if you take attractive women and AI gender swap them, most of the time you get your "chopped men".

Even look at people like Elliot Page, before his transition she was one of the prettiest girls in hollywood that people crushed over, now he's like... lets just say people are really not happy about his role in the upcoming Nolan Odyssey movie.
