The more tattoos a woman has, the less respect she will earn. Especially if they are random tattoos. If you have a whole body tattoo or sleeve... that's alright. If you have random tattoos in random places throughout your body, you are not marriage material.

I don’t personally hate tattoos. You might be attributing/generalizing preferences by men in the TRP sub with men who aren’t TRP members. Those guys have idealized fantasies about women being pure and chaste with no piercings or tattoos and their hymens are still fresh and unbroken like the seals on their newly purchased gaming systems.

We don’t all share the same preferences. Just FYI.

Edit: I think it should be noted that people might have problems with excessive tattoos and what/where the tattoo is. Some tats and placements look trashy (think face tattoos, or tattoos of nude women on an old fat guy).

Most look like shit to me and to me that means little sense for long term planning. But there is plenty of tattoo guys out there that are fine with them or love them. If you want to hook up with any girl <30 in my area they almost all have at least one. There are certain places, sizes, numbers of tattoos that are less acceptable than a lesser amount but they are mostly trendy ugly shit. To me it often feels like taking a shit on a work of art.

For me? I don't see any moral issue with tattoos. I just like clear skin, and tattoos kinda get in the way of that, the same way I probably wouldn't be too into a girl with a lot of birth marks.

From what I've seen, the manosphere regards tattoos as a "slut tell". So if you want to avoid settling down with a high-n-count woman, you should avoid tattoos because they indicate the same low-inhibition thinking patterns that lead to racking up a high partner count.

And then there are, of course, the guys who just think tattoos are ugly.

My wife has a big tatoo on both her thighs. She has 13 ear piercings and used to have a total of 7 body piercings. Needless to say she's ESFP. She doesn't show her piercings and tatoo around though, she says her insecurities got better as soon as she covered the bad parts with distracting things, and that it demotivated her not going for surgery. And thank god because surgeries are ugly, I prefer tats and piercings if I have to choose.

I don't dislike tatoos, but I find it cringy when those are conventional "I'm a thot" tats or "I'm not like the other girls" exactly like the other girls tats. Tats and piercings are generally more trashy, but I don't mind trashy people. My wife is more alternative than trashy so far, so all is good.

But I'm not very representative of the terpies in term of "deprecating female value" opinions.

I grew up with extreme anti-tattoo upbringing. Forbidden sinful things: sex, drugs, tattoos. It's all part of the same indoctrination. They're all forbidden in the bible based on official interpretation. Supposedly its related to the "graven images" thing about not getting tattoos to commemorate war kills.

And with any hard rule like that it becomes a turn on.

My theory is that they are projecting what they really want in a man, a rough and dominating badass who swears a lot and has some fucked up stories to tell.

This is why RP men dislike women with tattoos. These are all men who needed RP because they struggled with being masculine. They aren't rough, they aren't dominating, they have no fucked up stories (and usually no interesting, character building stories) to tell.

Outside of RP in the general manosphere it's worse. These men regularly seek what they see as timid, submissive low dominance women because they themselves are very low dominance. They internally don't live up to the criteria that they believe tattoos indicate. In fact many of these men already live in fear of women - a major MRA narrative is avoiding women so they don't hurt you legally or emotionally.

For men who rock them there's a difference between ink for fun and earned ink. Billy hipster who got a pattern for fun is not the same as a soldier who gets ink or a biker or whatever.

The perception is not many women are out there riding bikes or shooting from bunkers so ink is always low class and low status for fun.

Some girls do look incredible with full body back tattoos/sleeves, but those are pretty rare and most of the time it doesn't look good enough to justify covering all your skin. Plus I guess it might be a status thing not have a gf/wife who looks trashy and maybe is trashy.

I hate tattoos on women.

90% of the times they are ugly and they disrupt a potentially good looking skin and physique. They also show narcissistic shortsightness: you want that tat now because you want to show yourself to the world but you are not thinking through 1) when you will wake up one day and decide you don't like your tattoo anymore 2) when that tattoo would end up looking like a blurry mess with burntout colors. We change hairstyles, wardrobes, locations, hobbies, partners and diets but somehow we are OK with permanent skin changes?

Every heavily tatted woman I have met is either uneducated, unintelligent or full of herself. These three things tend to go together.

I can tolerate a small tat here and there but that's it.

I don't like tattoos on men either. Tattoos are traditionally associated with rough, aggressive, "badass" men who have lived a hard life full of alcohol/drugs, hookers/tramps, etc. For example sailors, bikers, gang members. Hipsters are usually soyboys who emulate rougher men like this to look more "masculine", just as they did with those woodsman shirts and beards.

But here's the problem. I don't aggree with the idea that being rough and aggressive is what constitutes being a man. I strive to be a stoic and moral man and would never want to emulate the lifestyle choices of these men.

Now what are women trying to signify with their tattoos? That they are badder than these badass bikers? My theory is that they are projecting what they really want in a man, a rough and dominating badass who swears a lot and has some fucked up stories to tell. I would not want to associate with a man like this, much less with a woman who deems him worth emulating/projecting.

I don’t have any and never will. I don’t like the look of them. I know women (and oddly no men) with them and never express negative opinions of them.

If a woman had many tattoos or tattoos in places that aren’t usually hidden I likely would not have undertaken a sexual/romantic relationship with them. Likely I’d simply have nothing to do with them.

Anyone considering any kind of permanent body modification should take a look around their social milieu (the one that makes them see tattoos, gauges, etc. as cool) and take note of how age diverse it is. If there aren’t many older people there it might be something you will regret later in life.

Some people in this thread are assuming that that tattoos indicate mental illness and that is ridiculous. There are plenty of people out there without tattoos that have mental illnesses. I personally think the tattoo judgment in the manospheare is a little over the top. Yes I prefer women without tattoos even thou I have tattoos myself but it also depends on the type of tattoo and what message it sends and where it is placed. There are many factors which can make it classy or trampy.

I think it's just the whole "women who have tattoos tend to be bar skanks" mentality. The same way it used to be that the only men who had tattoos were either sailors or had been to jail.

The only tattoos on women I can't get into are decolletage tattoos and that's just from an aesthetic viewpoint. They "flatten" an area that really looks pleasing curved. Or that "semicircle of text in cursive from collarbone to collarbone" across both shoulders that really accentuates the shoulders in a manly way. Seen transwomen with these and it's like "you're not helping yourself with this."

Not really part of the 'manosphere', but I tend to dislike tattoos on women. Dont dislike them all but here are some reasons why

I think it's harder for women to find tattoos, and tattoo styles, which are unique and aesthetic and complementary to their personalities. IMO tats should fit all of those criteria so I tend to dislike tattoos on women which don't.

I am also attracted to femininity in women, and find it hard to find tattoos which accentuate femininity. I don't know if it's a social cultural connection to male war paint or warrior tattoos, but I find they tend to be masculine in design, or simply 'not feminine', so it would have to be pretty good to counteract that. I've met women with tattoos I liked - so they do exist, they're just hard to come by, I think. (By contrast I'm attracted to masculinity in men so I tend to like tattoos more on men, even if they're less unique or interesting)

There's some part of my mind that's deeply attracted to pale, alabaster skin tones as a beauty standard, and some tattoo colours specifically (that standard grey green for example) either work against that or simply dont go with it. There are some rarer tattoo colours that do go with it however (e.g. the brighter blue ones) which I find attractive.

So I dont really hate tattoos in general on women, but I find it much harder for women to make them work. And there are some tattoos I find kind of gross regardless of sex or personality (e.g. hand and finger tattoos)

I imagine more the traditionally minded people on TRP might have similar issues but maybe with greater intensity of feeling, though I haven't seen many tattoo hate threads so I'm not sure

I am non judgemental and very open minded SBLKM. I am not sure what you mean by hate. I will say this. I do find tattoos on a women extremely unattractive. With the rise in popularity of tattoos, it has been frustrating to meet women I am initially attracted to, only to have that attraction evaporate once I see a tattoo. To me tattoos cover up womens beauty or worse detract from it. To explain why I feel the way I do I had to give this some thought. After encountering women that didnt believe I was no longer attracted to them just because of a tattoo. I had to find words for my feelings. The best thing I could come up with is, having sex with a woman with tattoos, is the equivalent of having sex with someone who would never completely undress. In others words she can never be truly naked.

It's a red flag, they correlate and symbolizes behaviour men find undesirable in female partners.

I find it rare tattoos looks good on anyone but they certainly can. On women the addeded negative is that they tends to detracts from the softness of skin and roundness of limb (becoming more pronounced the lighter the skin), making them look less feminine.

It can be mitigated if they follow curves and such but most female tattoos seems to be pictures breaking up the body.
