I consider this as a red flag now. I feel like it’s a sign of porn sickness, sexual aggression, and controlling behavior.

So, over the last 15 years what has changed? For starters in 2005 most people had flip phones. Smart phones with unlimited data were expensive and practically unheard of at the time. I couldn’t get into it the first time either...then I tried a few years later and was like, I just need to cross this off my list. It’s not an addictive show though. I also wondered if it that’s potentially because it was extreme for a decade ago, therefore making it “taboo”-like. Now days everything is much more graphic and we’ve been desensitized to a lot through television. Yea I heard the show gets pretty out there. I’m always watching some new show or movie so I will probably try to watch it eventually. I just find it so hard getting into shows where all the female characters are just tools and not treated as actual characters like the male characters are. I kinda got that vibe from sopranos. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t like Breaking Bad that much either. It can be super exhausting watching older movies and action movies too. Luckily there are still a lot of great new shows and movies that have well written characters and explore themes in a way that everyone in the audience can relate and become attached to. Yea the setting really does kind of set the stage for what to expect from characters sometimes lol. And yea Breaking Bad was good it’s just annoying how there are literally no impactful female characters in it.
