A friend reached out to me a few months ago and he’s planned a couple dates since. He was very respectful and we had a lot of fun together on these dates… lots of flirting, jokes, reminiscing.

But then I noticed the texting. When we were just friends, our text conversations always flowed and he was always asking questions/finding ways to continue the conversation. I saw him a few days ago and he was very fun in person, but the TEXTING is now sadly the polar opposite.

Now, it’s 5-6 hour waits for responses. And guess what? These texts are soooo boring and dry. When he asks questions, it’s in a very flat tone, as if it’s a feeble attempt to continue the conversation. So, at first I thought it was because he didn’t want to come across as desperate. He’s never dated before (in our 20s) and I wondered if he was reading those stupid PUA posts for guidance.

So now I can safely call BS when these dating subs scream “people are just busy!” ... I’ve literally seen the contrast first hand. When we were just friends, why did he have no problem responding in a reasonable time frame? And with interest? We have ALWAYS been busy with school; nothing has changed. But as soon as we start dating it’s the bare minimum??? That's not a coincidence.

And here I was thinking it would be better to start out as friends and then date 🤡 when will I ever find a boyfriend.

edit: I love how some comments aren't showing up on this post LMAO. I wonder what they're saying.
