I’m going to preface this with: I know women use birth control for much much more than pregnancy prevention. That’s not the case for me personally, though. I literally was using birth control only to prevent pregnancy and allow me to not use condoms with a partner (lol, yes I was stupid).

I’ve decided to 100% go off of my birth control in another show of a) committing to waiting a long time to have sex when I begin dating again and b) prioritizing myself and my own health over the pleasure of a man when the time comes that I do get intimate with a man again.

I’ve been on birth control of some sort for over a decade. I even almost died from an ectopic pregnancy because I didn’t know that antibiotics made birth control ineffective (I was 19). I have such a poor semblance of how my body functions without constant unnatural hormones coming in. I just want to know what it feels like to be a woman without birth control in my blood stream.

I honestly never thought I would get to this point. I know it sounds lame but it feels so freeing.

Has anyone else gone off birth control after a long period of time on it? How did you feel?
