everyone and their dog have precheck now...my (recent) ex and I flew last month...he INSISTED on going through precheck...I laughed and went through the "normie" line...or lackthereof....there were 20 people in precheck and ZERO in any other lane!!! So I went through...got a coffee and sat down to read while I waited 20m for him to get through.

I think my brother does this too: when we agree to go somewhere together he often goes ahead and leaves me behind because "he's faster than me anyway" and it embarrasses me to have to loudly shout his name repeatedly to call him back. If we agreed to get somewhere together, I'd expect, y'know, just for us to stay together. Agreeing to go together is not leaving at the same time, separating along the way, and meeting up later at the destination on different times...

Four things that are gross

1) using the term “normie” like he’s some VIP because he has precheck

2) wanting to leave his WIFE behind so he can go sit & relax… would he think of her struggling through TSA while sitting at a restaurant? Would it be any different if she had kids with her going through TSA?

3) not buying his WIFE a precheck

4) not staying in the “normie” line to help her lift her luggage on the conveyer belt and you know… be a good husband

My opinion on this is him going ahead is totally reasonable.. if I sent his ass ahead to order me a sandwich and drink so it's ready when I get there and don't have to wait at the restaurant. If I tell his ass to wait with me, he is waiting with me, and doing otherwise would be a dick move.

I don't understand why he can't just buy her the Precheck pass, men like this guy waste so much energy on doing less than the bare minimum. LVMs will create problems and then blame everyone else for it. It's something like $100 for a year and would be exponentially easier if he just put in this minor amount of effort instead of making it into a whole thing.

Wow. I have precheck and I travel with my mom for our yearly trip (she doesn’t have precheck). But sometimes if I book our flights, she gets precheck too. And in the times she hasn’t, idk if I used precheck and she did the regular line. But I know for certain that if I did, it would simply us being in different lines and I would never leave her to go to that gate. I would def not leave a companion of any sort behind at an airport. SMH.

My ex had pre-check before me and made it very clear that he would use it when we travelled together and would meet me later. It never sat well with me. So i got pre-check.

Post break-up, I went on trips with friends that didn't have it. And for all of those, I stood in the regular line with them. You're on a trip with someone you care about and you're getting on the same damn plane. Why would you ditch them??? I've encouraged those friends to get it, but I would never leave them if they didn't.

My ex husband was a total asshole in many ways. I recall a time when we got offered an upgrade and there was some mix up and it turned out there was only one seat. He didn't even blink and told me to take it. I asked the flight attendant to offer it to a solo traveller preferably an older person. He knew I would do that which was why he suggested I take it.

The husband in this scenario is a toddler he probably pulls this shot over other things all the time.

Yeah I don’t like this one. If the guy is so obsessed with having paid $85 to get this perk, but his lady is stuck behind because she either doesn’t have the money or didn’t get it yet…isn’t that a bit of a red flag? Mr. Moneybags is showing where his priorities are. Unless of course he actually does intend to get them some benefit together through getting through sooner, or one of them is starving, or he needs the restroom. Otherwise, isn’t it kinder to stay behind and hang out with your girlfriend?
