How good the mask is depends on how expensive the make up is and how good girls are at applying it. Some can use just a little bit of it to make their mask look 'natural' and others just cake it on to the point where the skin tone in their face is different to the skin on the rest of their bodies.

I wouldn't say make up is used to trick men, but ofcourse that's what it ends up doing. Generally speaking, the average girl doesn't look exactly like themselves without make up on, and alot of women don't even feel comfortable leaving the house without it on. I know alot of women say its a hobby, but how self centred do you have to be for your hobby to involve looking in the mirror for an hour, enhancing your appearance with paint?

The unfortunate thing is its almost impossible to come accross a girl who doesn't wear make up. So if you are a straight guy who likes authenticity both in terms of how girls look and their personalities, your options aren't that many. At best you'll meet a girl who wears less make up than the rest, but its very difficult to find one who just doesn't wear it at all, which is strange when you actually think about it.
