most marriages happen between people in the same tax bracket. people meet each other at college, in the workplace, at events where you’re surrounded by people who make around the same money as you

men, especially nowadays, are told their whole lives that marriage is an enormous risk for them financially. why would men want to take on a burden? you’re less likely to lose all your money and pay alimony if the woman you’re married to has her own money.

most men who say they don’t care about a woman’s income are usually misogynists who think a woman’s purpose in life is to cook and clean, or they are broke themselves.

also i just wanted to add, from both personal experience and what i have witnessed with female family members and friends, is that men who like to “spoil” women are usually assholes. they use money to make up for their personality.

it’s not even just about money either, it’s about the ambition. i think the only cases where a rich man would be willing to date a woman who doesn’t make much money is if she’s still doing something that takes hard work or that is selfless such as working for a non profit

teaching women that all men value is their looks is a psyop. if all you have is looks you’ll just be a side piece or you’ll attract an asshole.
