Any time that i talk about rape with men, it feels like they acknowledge only the stereotypical stranger in the dark alley scenario. Everything else is woman's fault or something like that. If it's physical with a husband - then why did she ended up with him. If it's coercion - then it's not rape at all in their worldview.

So my first thought was that disconnect happened here. Men don't understand what rape is, how it looks like. But then i thought more, and i realized that they do. They would call out if that happened to them. They do understand consent like every woman does. They understand that it can be withdrawn. They don't do this shit to other men. They know how it will be taken. Hell, on this sub the most prevalent complaint that "women lie" and that makes women evil. How then "men lie to get sex" is okay?

Or for example the prevalent take, that i made a post yesterday about. "Men don't have sex and partners and it's women's issue, because we will be violent". One - how would men themselves react if women asked anything with the threat of violence? Two - men never think what the cost will be for women, it's just i have issue - solve it no matter what, or be evil if you don't. Three - If it's such a ticking bomb, why men don't try to solve it by fucking themselves? Yes, yes, not ideal, but still sex, connection and whatever you need. Two desperate people who form some sort of alliance and not two desperate people who try to force women into sex with them. Four - If this is such a solid take - are they ready to be the one who will be used? Among those men who "are desperate and will be aggressive" might be some gays. Are they ready to take one for the team?

We all know the answers to those questions. And we see how different they treat men and women.

The only explanation i can see is that men are people, and women are less. You can lie to them. Ignore their no. Ignore their experience and claim that men are wonderful and don't do rapey things. Tell that it's women's fault (apparently because they are women). I don't think that men will think about it in a good faith. Because that means that many men that they knew did shitty things and they didn't care. That they themselves maybe did shitty things, and it's a hard pill to swallow. Yet it is what it is.
