What happened?

Last year we found out PPD users are more on the spectrum than the general population, which explains many of the weird things posted/commented here

The poll might as well have asked what our favourite gun is….it is insanely American, and really does not translate well to other parts of the world.

For example: class. How does one determine class? In America it seems to be almost exclusively based on income. In Europe class is as much social and cultural as it is economic (doubly so if you’re young).

The political questions were also not too clear. Is the ranking based on America? Our own societies? The world? I’m pretty moderate in the U.K., but an off-the-charts socialist in the US.

Relationship status…,why isn’t there just “dating”? You know , the normal thing most people do?

There should be relationship status options that reflect non-monogamy. Plate-spinning, FWB and BF/GF are not mutually exclusive.

There should be a write-in option for the "what do you believe in: pills, astrology, MBTI, etc". I don't really believe in pills either, I just assigned my name to the closest one I can think of. I don't believe in any of the listed options.

Off topic rant: people in general don't understand the political scale between authoritarian and libertarian, largely because "authoritarian" has come to mean "an insult for whenever a politician I don't like exercises any amount of power."

A better definition for the scale is:

To what extent should personal freedom be sacrificed to provide for the common good of society?

For example, I think a moderate (3) response on this question would be around whether you feel vaccine mandates are a good idea. Knowing that there are some people who have some disease/condition that makes them more vulnerable or unable to be vaccinated themselves, do the rest of us have a duty to vaccinate to help them.

More on the authoritarian side would be wanting to ban alcohol consumption, for basically the same reason. Some people, for whatever combination of genetics and past experiences, will abuse alcohol if they consume it and making it so ubiquitous is basically saying as a society we are fine with having some percentage of these people's lives ruined so the rest of us can have more fun on a night out.

More on the libertarian side might be something like getting rid of DUI laws. The purpose of DUI laws are to prevent accidents but we already have laws in place for determining fault when an accident occurs, penalizing DUI by itself is just penalizing someone for something bad they haven't done but they might do in the future.

I think most people are fairly moderate on this scale, they just don't realize it because their only context for one of the words is it being used as an insult.

The sociosexuality scale is really not between "degenerate" and "prude". I don't think the scale is know well enough by people for them to accurately place themselves on it, with only those two words and spectrum endpoints.

I think the placement on this spectrum is the major cause of all of the "virgin vs promiscuous" women debates and if people realized that people are just different in that aspect, there would be less fighting over what is "right". Also, some men would realize that women who are sociosexually restricted really do not have lots of casual sex, even though they could easily have it. Hookup culture does nothing for the sociosexually restricted. Yet they are not prude, and can have lots of "degenerate" sex in their relationship.

Similarly, unrestricted people are not degenerate for being open to having sex outside a committed relationship.

Please find better wording for the spectrum endpoints of the sociosexuality question, or the answers will not be worth anything.

Unrestricted Sociosexuality (High Sociosexuality):

People at this end are more open to engaging in casual sex without emotional attachment or long-term commitment.
They tend to have a higher number of sexual partners and are more comfortable with short-term relationships.
These individuals often have lower levels of jealousy in relationships and may be more interested in sexual novelty and exploration.
Their sexual attitudes are typically more permissive, and they may prioritize sexual satisfaction over emotional connection in certain contexts.

2. Restricted Sociosexuality (Low Sociosexuality):

Individuals at this end of the scale prefer sex within committed, emotionally close relationships.
They are less likely to engage in casual sex or have multiple sexual partners.
These individuals often value emotional intimacy and long-term commitment as prerequisites for sexual activity.
They may be more prone to feelings of jealousy and discomfort with the idea of their partner having multiple sexual partners, as emotional bonds and trust are central to their sexual relationships.

I actually had to look up a couple of the "personality type" responses because I honestly didn't know about them, but even though I'm on the subeeddit that I don't even subscribe fully to pill theory, and I hate being forced to choose that.

Would love to see data on critical thinking skills and use here. I have no idea how one would acquire such data, but I bet it would explain many things.
