We don’t need Paternity Tests.

The purpose of paternity tests is to determine who is responsible. Biologically, but realistically financially. Remove the financial aspect? Then the issue of paternity simply becomes one of biology. How? Default Financial Abortions(DFA) with an ‘opt in’ clause, whilst pulling child support.

DFAs means that from the point of conception, women know exactly what a man’s ‘default’ status is. When deciding what to do. Husbands and planned parenthood can simply ‘opt in’ after, or even prior to the fact.

Ascertaining the biological aspect of paternity remains the same. Fathers who want to know, can pay for it.

This solution is simple. Men get choice. Women have the benefit of knowing by default, where a man stands. Women too, retain all their autonomy.

Change this view.

First thank you to those who have made quite thoughtful comments. You unfortunately have not changed the viewpoint. As yet.

The primary reason being almost all the replies, are some variation of ‘think of the kids’. Or ‘think of the child support.’ ‘Your goal is to absolve potential fathers of their fiscal responsibility.’

It is not.

For those in this opposing camp, ask yourself;

at the point of conception, who has sole responsibility of the decision?

Then ask yourself;

Do you want this person to have more information? To make a better informed choice? Or less?

It is upon these two facts, that I have based this viewpoint. If you can find a cognisant, logical retort to these two facts, I’m more than willing to have my viewpoint changed.
