I'm from Ukraine which used to be a big destination for passport bros, so I'm more familiar with the other side of this phenomenon than most people here.

Westerners tend to assume that these women are more naive and desperate than they are. They are just regular women marrying older, less attractive rich guys for their money, no different from women that do that in the west. The only difference is that middle class westerners can be rich if they go to Ukraine or Thailand. The Women in these countries aren't starving. They don't have a lot of money, but things are cheap there so they could afford all the necessities, but they would have to work full time and couldn't afford luxuries.

They aren't these innocent flowers that fall in love with the first foreign guy they meet. Though many will play the part for the right price. Many of them are local sugar babies or escorts looking for a more permanent arrangement, or a way to have a family without sacrificing their lifestyle.

No one respects the passport bros there, at least not in Ukraine. Least of all the women that date them. The western equivalent would be a loser trust fund kid marrying an ex stripper who wants to settle down.

Women are targeting resources. Impoverished women, in fact, are targeting rare and bare survival resources. It is not about any set of men. Many type of disgruntled western guys will croon about becoming a passport bro lmao. You think Benedict Cumberbatch is going to Thailand for a wife? Nah. High earning isn't the phrase you're looking for.

On the other hand, men with decent money who can't find a happy relationship in their culture of origin are obviously looking for something that women generally go out of our way not to give. This does not apply if you are a first or second generation immigrant whose culture and family is more complex. This does not apply if you get a great job offer and you just happen to meet someone abroad. It is simply not normal for a man to not be able to get along with women from his own culture. Anyone who tells you different has never held a high paying job in the west in the first place, and probably has a few issues to work through.

If someone's desperate enough to try to sell themselves into slavery, it's still predatory to buy them as a slave. Passport bros realized they are far more desirable in those countries due to the power of the dollar and capitalized on it. if their chances are far better there, and they are willing to go the extra mile to move over there, then who the fuck even cares what these guys do? Let the guys do what they want. Sure they might get with women who only care about their money or whatever, but they'll still get younger hotter women. In the west, they are stuck with mediocre looking women who will probably only get with them for their money anyway and that's only after they pass the 30 year old mark. Even from a betabuxxing perspective, they get a far better deal overseas. If betabuxxing is all you can do, at least maximize your chances to get the best deal possible.

I think people see passport bros as predatory because they’re going into these developing countries with no care for the local culture of country, scooping up a girl who is willing to just leave her home country and family (usually women who do this are running from their own demons and aren’t the sort of girls you want in the first place) because they hold incel adjacent values (Asian women are subservient) or are too lazy to step up and become valuable enough to be attractive to someone local to them.

Now, can a passport bro ever be successful without falling into this trap? Yes. There’s a lot of examples of people who moved to these countries, integrated into the country, met a local girl, married them and then eventually moved back home, but they all point out that their relationship would have existed no matter which country they met in and the circumstances surrounding it, they also see the people who swoop in for an easy wife with the same level of distain as western people do and often get frustrated when people call them passport bros or assume their foreign wife is only with them for money or access to their country.

I also think it’s worth stressing that women who want ‘high income earning men’ from these developing countries aren’t the sorts of women you wanna be dating in much the same way as you don’t want a gold digger, clout chaser or sociopath. People on here love to look at the dating game as this logical, rule driven excel spreadsheet where X = Y. Doesn’t work like that, and passport bros min maxing attractiveness and youth to get the most for their SMV are missing out on a lot and it ends up being different from what they imagined.

Even if these women were targeting this kind of men, it doesn't change what his intentions are or how he's operating. He intentions are predatory. His goals are predatory. His way of operating is predatory.
A woman seeking survival via targeting predatory men is not predatory, it is parasitic. The reasons for attaching to this kind of man are often much better in their intentions and goals (survival, helping beloved family, trying to make a better life for said family and survival). There's really nothing good to be said of the man's predatory intentions like there are of the woman's parasitic intentions.

Passport bros are often guys who tend to attempting predatory stuff a lot of the time. The thought of a foreign country often stirs colonial sentiments that correlate heavily to predatory behaviour. I just don't get overly upset over them being predatory there not here. I'm equally upset about them being predatory wherever they are. They are often just terrible men wherever they are.
