People always say women are the “committed” gender and men are the ones who run. But when you look at actual behavior not slogans the pattern flips.

Women commit faster. Men commit longer.

Women:

Enter platonic and romantic relationships quicker Make breakups/divorces faster Are more likely to leave if a man loses his job Leave earlier when they see “decline” or instability Also are more likely statistically to have problems with their interpersonal relationships

Men: Enter slowly Leave slowly Are far less likely to initiate divorce Keep friendships for decades Stay through long dry spells without bailing

Yes, there’s one painful exception: men are more likely to leave when a woman becomes terminally ill, mostly because men lack support systems and fall apart under caregiving pressure. It’s awful, and worth acknowledging.

But outside of that rare scenario? Men stay through stagnation, job loss, emotional drought, lack of connection.situations where women statistically leave far more often.

Women call it “knowing when to leave.” Men doing the opposite is called “commitment issues.”

Feels like we’re confusing pacing for fear. Men take longer to choose because once they choose, they don’t quit easily. To go along with this I think it's pretty funny that the main gender that says of you don't love me at my words you don't deserve my best and straight up leaving and almost every situation.

I also do find it interesting that male gay relationships are The strongest whereas lesbians marriages are the weakest.

I'm of the opinion that women are just going to give some excuse as to why consistency and sticking it through is a bad sign

Edit: women are also more likely to quit a job, and friendships, More likely to change life goals and plans.
