I hope the false accusers lose every dime they have. Falsely accusing a person of rape is horrendous.

[–]AlicornGamer 224 points225 points226 points 6 years ago (39 children) | Copy Link

i hope this kick starts other men coming out about their false accusations/ actually being raped.

celebs can influence a huge group of people and even ones who arent their fans. if a celeb s high profile as justin beiber did it, this may influence other men into doing the same.

[–]thefudmaster 75 points76 points77 points 6 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link

You’re absolutely correct. The pendulum initially swung in a positive direction.

In the 70s, my mom was raped by a man in an elevator. She knew her perpetrator as it was a work colleague. She went to the police and the prosecutor and they did nothing. They even blamed her for what she could have been wearing or why she was working late at night. This was wrong.

Now, the pendulum has swung so far to the opposing side that an accusation alone will ruin someone. There needs to be support of a victim, while still honoring the due process clause of the Constitution for the accused. It is hard to do, but it must be done to preserve justice.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet-18 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Do you have an example of an accusation alone ruining someone? Didn't Trump have like 20+ accusations and still was elected president? We've got a supreme court justice who was accused but that clearly didn't ruin his career or anything. If there's evidence, it can go to court, but not an accusation alone.

[–]keystothemoon17 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My cousin's ex-husband just got through a three year battle to exonerate himself after a false accusation that never passed the sniff test from the outset. He lost his job. A lot of people stopped associating with him. It was horrible. He might have ended up in jail if he had stuck with the public defender but he shelled out his own savings (aka his daughter's college funds) to get a competent attorney to defend him. He got off and he's free but broke and a lot of folks will always regard him as guilty even though he didn't do it. These false accusations are malicious and evil.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet-3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Out of curiosity, what was the evidence that prompted it to go to court? As someone who had seemingly ample evidence but was still told it wasn't nearly enough to take to court, I can't imagine it went so far on an accusation alone.

[–]keystothemoon10 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That was it, an accusation by one woman with a reputation for being melodramatic.

The dude's a really good, really funny guy, and a great dad. He's got cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair, but he does a ton of weight training and his upper body is really strong.

He was at a party and the daughter of the hosts had been playing with the dudes daughter who was used to rough housing with her dad (the dude picks her up and waves her around in the air and stuff, ya know, stuff that is normal and healthy and fun for children). He picked up the daughter of the hosts and was putting her down as the mom walked in. The little girl was having a blast and she blurted out, "he touched my butt." The mom then flipped out, called the cops, and had him arrested for molesting her daughter.

So either a) this dude who has a ridiculously good reputation for being amazing with kids and absolutely not a scintilla of a reputation for being creepy with kids suddenly unleashes his hidden grope machine for the less than five minutes that he was playing with the little girl with tons of other people around, or b) sometimes you do touch a kid's butt when you're engaging in healthy play behaviors and it's not sexual in any way and most non-weirdo adults know this?

The mom wouldn't have it dropped and they went after him trying to put him in jail. When it became apparent that the mom's story was flimsy, they offered him a plea deal where he could avoid prison time, but would be put on a sex offender list. This offer was made at the request of the mom (imagine if your daughter was molested and you made the molester a deal to avoid prison time. It's almost like she knew she was full of shit and just trying to save face). He was like fuck that. He figured he didn't do anything wrong so he wasn't gonna cop to something he didn't do. He fired the public defender and got a real lawyer.

The little girl got put on the stand and their whole case fell apart on direct examination (she didn't even make it to cross). She didn't remember the dude, didn't remember the party in question, didn't remember the incident, nothing. To her, that was one fleeting moment that didn't matter at all. She wasn't traumatized by it. She was nothing by it, it didn't even register with her.

Oh yeah, and the mom was just implicated in a fraud ring run by her father and brother where they were selling counterfeit sporting goods. Real class act.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well that's insanely frustrating. I was explicitly told that witness testimony was not nearly enough for a rape case to go to court, wonder if it's too late for me to try to get mine there as I had WAY more evidence than those ppl.

[–]JohnnyKay92 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So there you have it. Please don't be so naive in the future. I think u know damn well that in today's society an accusation is practically a death sentence. It needs to stop, like op said. We need to honor the victim but also allow for due process. Cancel culture should not allow an early conviction.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet-5 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

A death sentence? Are you kidding haha Trump was elected president after dozens of accusations? Talk about naive lmao

[–]JohnnyKay92 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

We aren't talking about trump. We are talking about average people. I see the majority of your comments are about Trump tho, so maybe you are some kind of bot. Nvm.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well that's an example we all can discuss, unless you happen to know most of my bosses haha, not sure we'd be able to talk about them. Just think it's odd to say accusations ruin lives when there's a pretty obvious example of the opposite happening.

[–]Runaway_Scorpion1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Go look up Alec Holloway if you want another example. He took his own life after having his friends and co-developers ostracize him over a claim with no evidence.

[–]keystothemoon1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Good luck to you.

[–]thefudmaster1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Every case is different.

[–]thefudmaster2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

An accusation is all it takes. This screwed up mindset started in the military in the early 2000s.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Huh interesting, my experience is so opposite of this so it's hard for me to fathom. I know so many men with multiple accusations that haven't had their lives impacted in any way, so it's strange to hear so many people think an accusation is the end of someone's life when I've seen the opposite.

[–]thefudmaster1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Read my previous posts here about the pendulum swinging in a different direction.

Short Take: My mother was raped in the 1970s. She tried to press charges and the cops and prosecutors wouldn’t do anything. Mentality back then was “what were you wearing that caused you to get raped?”.

Now, the mentality is to believe the victim without question. We need to support victims while supporting due process for the accused as well.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Again, my personal experience of the current state of things is very contradictory to this, feels much more similar to your mother's experience.

[–]lordtorch7 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Brian Banks this guy spent 5 years in jail and 6 years on probation for a false accusation. Lost his promising football career for it.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Do you know this person? I'm fully in agreement that this happens, but it seems incredibly rare compared to the amount of people I know with multiple accusations that haven't impacted their lives at all.

[–]lordtorch3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Clearly no but that’s not what you asked... you asked for an example of someone’s life being ruined. do I know people who have had their lives ruined by false accusation? Yes. Do I know people who have had their lives ruined by a sexual assault? Also undeniably yes. One sexual assault is far too many, just like one false accusation is far too many. Both can be reprehensible and irreparable acts done out of spite to another and there must be justice imposed to stop and prevent both, which is what the comment at the top of this thread is saying

[–]canitakemybraoffyet0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I agree it's a terrible crime to falsely accuse someone, I disagree that a false accusation automatically ruins someone's life, which the comment at the top of this thread is saying. I think it is much more rare for a baseless accusation to ruin someone's life than to hardly affect it, as evidenced by most of the public accusations as of late i.e. Trump, kavanaugh, etc.

[–]lordtorch1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh shoot my bad I guess I didn’t see that the comment said it “automatically” did which is untrue. I do think it’s hard to extrapolate what is common or uncommon among common men and women when you’re using evidence from fabulously famous and wealthy people, though. Trump (an awful human, besides) or even Bieber in OP’s post being accused is going to be handled very differently than a person w/o that influence. Regular men and women would more likely have their life severely impacted by a false accusation than a person with mountains of influence. But we don’t typically hear about those stories because they’re not famous

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I totally understand, but in my personal experience, the regular men I know who've been accused (by multiple women) have not had their personal or professional lives affected in any way, while almost all the women were mysteriously fired and blacklisted from the industry. So maybe you can see how coming from my world, it's laughable to think that an accusation would automatically ruin someone's life, especially when I've seen them ruin the women's lives much more often.

[–]lordtorch2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I understand why you’re saying and I’m sorry to hear that. I do hope that they see justice someday, when sadly our system often does not provide justice for victims. In my experience, I have friends who when you google their name the word “rape” still comes up when they weren’t even in the same state when the event allegedly happened and the accuser recanted the story afterwards. They got put in the papers bc they were young and black w/o any evidence. So you can see why I have my opinion too. Sexual assault and supporting victims is a huge issue that needs to be addressed better. People being falsely accused is a separate issue that also needs to be addressed without each issue taking away from each other

[–]canitakemybraoffyet2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I completely understand, thanks for sharing your view 😊

[–]lordtorch1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You too! Thanks for a civil discussion, have a great day 😊

[–]i-am-a-passenger1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

President is a rather unique job as it depends on being elected, and it doesn’t really matter how many people hate you and think you are a horrible human being, if there is a enough people to look the other way. This doesn’t really apply to many other people or roles so is a rather poor example.

And wasn’t it Trump who appointed the Supreme Court justice? Which is also another example of someone getting a job which isn’t really relatable for the vast majority of people.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Wouldn't you think if something "ruined someone" it would mean they wouldn't be elected by half the country?

[–]i-am-a-passenger1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It doesn’t matter what I think, it obviously doesn’t matter for this one very specific niche example does it? People are allowed to speak in general terms and it’s just pedantic to act like one very rare example is evidence that something therefore can’t apply to anyone else in the world.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What makes you think it's rare? I work for several men with multiple accusations that clearly didn't impact them at all, yet I don't personally know a single person who's life was "ruined" by an accusation alone. So in my personal experience, it seems much more rare for an accusation to ruin someone's life than to not.

[–]i-am-a-passenger2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Being, and running for, president is rare. This personal example would have been much more relevant to the discussion.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh okay that totally makes sense, thanks for clarifying! So for my example, I work at an enormous, globally respected organization in an admittedly-outdated industry (advertising) and know of at least 6 c-suite guys with multiple accusations against them, many from women I know personally, most of whom were mysteriously fired a few months after they filed claims and only one was able to survive in the industry, despite having an absolutely killer resume and portfolio, the others were turned down from every job they applied to until they switched industries. The guys still have their jobs and other than those of us who know the women that accused them, it was kept completely under wraps. So can you see how, coming from my world, it might feel a bit baffling that someone could think a single baseless accusation automatically ruins the accused's life?

[–]i-am-a-passenger1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I think the difference there is that it has been kept “completely under wraps”. Of course an accusation which nobody knows about isn’t going to ruin someone.

Take these accusations to the press or start spreading word yourself and you will see a different effect. It only takes the fear of bad PR (and the impact this will have on shareholders) to encourage a company to sack/suspend someone.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well one did get an article written about it but it didn't gain any traction and she was fired the next day. Doesn't really seem worth it, does it?

[–]thefudmaster1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I’d tell you to google but I’ll help you out. Look up Brian Banks, The Duke Lacrosse Case, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, to name a few.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet-2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Haha how was kavanaugh's life ruined? He's literally elected to one of the highest positions in America.

[–]thefudmaster3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He was not elected. He was confirmed by the Senate after a bastardized confirmation process similar in nature to Justice Clarence Thomas. Neither of these men were Harvey Weinstein. It’s amazing how people come out of the woodwork to accuse others of crimes 20+ years ago when those alleged victim should have gone forth with accusations immediately and the process could play out. Just because somebody gets elected, continues to have success, or gains a high position, and unproven rape or sexual assault allegation is incredibly damaging to their reputation and their career.

[–]canitakemybraoffyet1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

But was his life "ruined"? His accuser had to move because of the amount of death threats to her and her family, she also lost her job. That seems more like a ruined life to me...

[–]MGTOW_BEASTMODE 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hope most men come out and accuse every woman of sexual assault.. so this forces the legal system to change.

[–]Classic-Societies1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Rape is worse so obviously men should just be quiet and accept it if they get falsely accused!!

[–]thefudmaster1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Please tell me you forgot the sarcasm symbol “/s” at the end of your post. Rape is equally as bad as a false accusation. While the two are different, both carry extremely negative consequences for both parties.

[–]Slackslayer-44 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Real question, you already know these people are lying, how? Because you're taking him by his word? Have you seen any of his evidence yet, or even confirmed such evidence exists? Is defamation a crime where you're guilty until proven innocent?

Seems like the exact same problem.

[–]thefudmaster35 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He has proof (witnesses and social media posts) showing where he was and who he was with on the night the alleged acts occurred.

The issue he will have in a defamation case is how it will negatively affect him financially. He is a public figure and that adds an additional level of scrutiny as well.

We’ve seen this bullshit song and dance before and it is a way for attention seekers to needlessly damage someone else.

[–][deleted]16 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Read the article. Technically they’re presumed innocent but it sounds like one of these girls has been an obsessive fan who’s bothered Bieber before.

[–]Hazzardroid1312 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Sounds like you think sexual assault is guilty until proven innocent. Burden of proof should lie on them not him. Also he has proof (stated in someone else’s reply to your comment

[–]Slackslayer-9 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh for christ's sake. Are you incapable of critical thinking? Not treating him as guilty does not mean you get to automatically treat the accuser as guilty for lying. You investigate.

[–]Hazzardroid136 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And treating the accused as guilty can destroy the career of an innocent man (see Johnny depp vs amber heard). You don’t treat anyone as guilty of anything until there is evidence.

just because the burden of proof is on the accuser doesn’t mean they have to prove they aren’t lying it means that you are proving the accused’s guilt

[–]thefudmaster3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have a feeling that Johnny Depp will come out winning on this one.

[–]Slackslayer-4 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Look at the comment at the start of this thread. I'm not treating the dude as guilty, I'm condemning the people who took 2 seconds to look at the article and threw those principles out the window, such as u/thefudmaster .

[–]thefudmaster3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Explain how I threw any principles out the window. I am an advocate of due process under the law and our constitution. It is a sad place in society that we have gotten When someone makes a baseless accusation. He has proof that he was nowhere near the accuser during those dates that the alleged incident occurred.

[–]Slackslayer0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He has proof that he was nowhere near the accuser during those dates that the alleged incident occurred.

This proof is not yours to make a determination on. People are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not innocent until I've read enough on the internet to determine they're guilty.

[–]thefudmaster3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It’s funny how your words are agreeing with my points exactly. Look at his tweets and his documentation of who he was with and how he was nowhere near the alleged victim. Slim chance her accusations will ever result in a criminal charge.

Lol you’re digging deep bro, I appreciate your interest in my drunken rambling but it’s a bit odd. I’m also a dude. Saying everyone’s ex isn’t a raging bitch isn’t a feminist argument or even a controversial one. It’s just a fact. None of my ex gfs were raging bitches. Well, one, but that was a dark time haha

I’m not gatekeeping the word Karen, gatekeeping is being exclusive about who can do something, not saying it’s a lame term because its definition has been expanded to the point it’s just a nebulous one size fits all insult. And it’s not a big deal I just think it’s a silly term at this point.

I don’t hate Keanu reeeves, seems like a stand up guy. I just think the celebrity worship of him on Reddit is cringeworthy.

I don’t even remember what I posted on gatekeeping it was so long ago. It’s not a favorite place of mine, I’m not even subscribed I don’t think lol. But yes, that has essentially molded my personality.

Regarding swords comic..... yeah it’s an egregious offense to humor. It’s one of several popular Reddit trends that do annoy me. But I love ranting about trivial bs so it’s love/hate. Overall I enjoy Reddit, learn some interesting shit, have some fun conversations occasionally. Got into it because it’s great for streaming football (soccer) highlights and chatting about tactics and stuff, then quarantine fucked all the leagues and now I scroll all and bug everyone. The Chans seem like alt right cesspools to me so I’m not down.

I don’t mind you mining for material to give me shit on, by all means proceed if you’re having fun. I’m not even really concerned with defending myself, it’s an anonymous forum and nothing you’ve hit me with is even really insulting. But I do enjoy seeing the way people on here will make vast assumptions about your personality/character on the basis of evidence as tenuous as making a single post on a sub about gatekeeping. So I’m enjoying responding. As long as you’re enjoying giving me shit about random shit we’re both having fun, no hard feelings. I’m curious as to your extrapolations on my character, honestly. It’s amusing. Not gonna go scroll your profile tho, sorry.

"every woman ever" is a strong generalization, especially since I've seen this in men... And yet I've seen that type of shit so much in modern women it breaks my heart. It hurts because clearly many of these women are being raised without any consequences to their actions. Women in my family would never be in this situation to begin with, but they also would never say "uhhh but actually what I did doesn't matter because they said something mean afterwards".

I hope we can move back to a centered grounded morality. Not necessarily religion, but clearly people are not teaching their children basic human morality anymore.

[–][deleted]1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you have woken up in the middle of the night to gorge on snacks /staying up till 4 am, then eating fries will cause severe indigestion problems. I had a vomiting bout as a child for that (ate then at 1 am though) . However, if you are waking up at 4 am, then you might eat it, although I won't advise fries as breakfast.

Or he could be mean about it: you see, if you owe someone money, and they forgive the debt, the IRS considers that to be income.

So he gets a judgment for whatever part of that the court will go for, gets a collection agency to be obnoxious for a while, then writes off the debt and reports it to the IRS: he gets to claim the loss and she suddenly owes taxes on millions. And collecting is FedGov's problem.

The punitive charges will be based on their income, not the amount asked. He is probably only asked for 20m because that takes it out of people's court and into a full blown proceeding. It is more about showing that making allegations comes with serious repercussions and not just a slap on the wrist that they expected to get from all this.

Also depends on the judge: they can impute an income same as is done for child support when the parent with a high value degree Or certification goes to work part time at Taco Bell trying to avoid paying high support. I've seen master electricians try being a janitor to get their support payments reduced.

The defendant may not have a lot of skills, but the judge can point out some low/no skill factory jobs that pay well for miserable work to justify more than a retail or low skill office worker could afford.

And of course, there's the option of a high amount and a long payout time, though they usually prefer to avoid that.

[–]Lelleck1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You actually „build a castle in the sky“ with the money you ask for in America.

Usually it gets lowered to a more realistic but still significantly high amount that a normal person is not able to just come up with.

Let’s say the judge would lower it to 70,000$.

As a normal person with an average income, it still destroys you (your life decision to defame someone destroyed you).

" In his suit, Bieber claims to have "indisputable documentary evidence" that prove their claims are nothing but "outrageous, fabricated lies." When the 26-year-old singer took to Twitter to dispute Danielle's account of what happened on March 9, 2014 in Austin, Texas, he presented a slew of documents, which ranged from emails with Airbnb hosts to booking reservation receipts to tabloid sites that featured quotes from insiders who detailed his whereabouts.

While Bieber didn't take these same measures to disprove Kadi's accusation, he explained in his suit that she's a superfan who has waited for him outside of his hotel. Bieber points to a tweet she posted after the alleged date she was sexually assaulted, which backs up his side of the story that the two have never met."

EDIT due to bot: he wood ave doned betterer.

Couldn't agree more. And at the beginning of his career, he didn't even do anything wrong. He just looked a bit girly and made songs that girls loved. And people HATED him for that. Honestly I would rebel in his position as well. It's a miracle he came out on the other side as normal as he did. Couldn't respect him more at this point.

[–]Canvaverbalist 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He wrote a public letter last year: https://www.instagram.com/p/B17JfkkHEKt/

Basically acknowledging the shit he did and reflecting on the type of life he had growing up and becoming famous as a child.

Chris D'Elia money is not even in the same zip code as Justin Bieber money.

It's going to be a lot different for these ladies.

[–]LoveNotH861 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yes, yes it does. His rate comes out to a little over a million per show lol.

[–]vincentpontb1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The higher you are the higher you fall. Indeed Bieber is stupid money, but don't think for one second fake rape claims can't hurt someone because of status or money. As long as the medias get clicks they'll ruin that person into oblivion and it's not something you can defend yourself from / sue medias, which is a huge problem.

The fact that he's treated like he's only not guilty because he has proof is insane.

It's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, media turns that around in a snap.

[–]tryhardfit 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

According to the article linked above he has definitive proof that these things did not happen. He has apparently already released the documentation which include emails, tweets, photographs and eye witness accounts. Seems like he is probably safe.

[–]karmagod13000 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Girls had some decent proof against Chris though. Never heard about this shit with Justin.

[–]Tewgood 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Nobody had any proof of any sexual abuse. He released emails from the ones claiming they were underage showing that they lied about their age to him previously.

[–]IMBCumGayDstryrOfAss 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not only that, all his comic "friends" are throwing him under the bus.

[–]KeyandOrangePeele-3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't know dude, there were a LOT of girls with messages from him. A lot of them said they were underage too, and he was still going for it.

[–]cj3po155 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

These people really think dozens of women all coluded to defame Chris, instead of accepting that he’s a piece of shit.

[–]KeyandOrangePeele4 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

As someone who is in the LA comedy scene. It's really not a secret either.

[–]LoveNotH862 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have no love for Chris but That’s exactly what happens in this climate though. It’s popular to be a victim these days and now a woman who has a DM or situation that could lightly connect them to a tabloid tmz level story comes out with screen shots and some humble sob story that receives 10k likes with encouragement for being strong. It’s the new age 15 mins of fame.

Same thing happened with the Larry Nassar case here in Michigan. Families and a celebrity gymnast banded together so the book would undoubtedly be thrown at him(he deserved it). if you know anyone close to that case then you’d know many of those claims were based on technicalities(doctors need to touch patients so yes a bunch of girls were touched by him). A guy I know said nassar “touched his daughters leg once” and is now enjoying fully funded trips to espn events and movie premiers taking selfies for the gram.

[–]Tewgood4 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Show me a single message where they say they're under age and then he continues going for it. I'm not saying he isn't a sleazy dude, but there's 0 proof he did anything illegal.

[–]KeyandOrangePeele1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Here is one where she says she is 17, he says “aww too young” then continues to pursue.

https://imgur.com/1c5I6qA https://imgur.com/5JKjDiS

[–]Tewgood4 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He continues to pursue... after she's 18? He literally says she's too young when she says she's 17.

[–]KeyandOrangePeele1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He says it with a winking face first. And where does it say she’s now 18? How do you know that?

[–]Tewgood2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Saying something with a winking emoji isn't illegal last time I checked. The other screenshots I saw of this one showed the first messages happened quite a bit prior.

[–]KeyandOrangePeele0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I didn't say it was illegal, but it adds to the context of a 30 year old man flirting with a 17 year old (not illegal, still wrong and fucking creepy).

This might not want to be a hill you die on, considering CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment dropped Chris. As well as Comedy Central, Hulu, and Amazon removing the episode of Workaholics where he plays a pedo. Unless those all seem like big coincidences to you, that means there is a little more than 0 evidence.

[–]Tewgood1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Again, nobody is saying it isn't creepy. But being creepy shouldn't get people canceled. Nobody expects celebrities to be upstanding citizens. Especially frat-boy-esque comics. If he did anything illegal, put him in prison, label him a pediaphile, and cancel him. The point is that he didn't. Take a look at Andrew Shulz from today.

I don't see how companies dropping him has anything to do with this? It's a result of cancel culture. Not illegal behavior.

[–]KeyandOrangePeele1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And what I am saying is that you do not know that he did not. You are hoping he didn't but that hope is hanging on a thread that over 20 women are lying about him.

And believe me, if that many companies are distancing themselves from him. It's not cancel culture. Shit, Louis CK's agent and manager didn't drop him. And he got cancelled on the NY Times. It it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, you can hope it is a dog, but it's probably a duck.

[–]Tewgood1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Being creepy isn't illegal. Again, there is no substantiated claim that he did anything illegal. There isn't a single person that has come out and said he did something illegal with them. The only place it's even mentioned is from a Twitter account that is known to put out stories that aren't vetted or have no proof.

KeyandOrangePeele sexually assaulted me when I was 17. See how easy that was?

[–]werdya1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]Loose_Goose2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]KeyandOrangePeele2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]Bobthemime-4 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So he groomed underage fans and his "proof" is "they emailed me lying about their age"?

No shit they did that.. you wouldnt want to fuck them if they said they were 13.

[–]nest02513 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

None of them were 13 and if a girl lies about her age you are the one to be punished? Lol.. I'm not saying Chris is a saint, he is obviously not, but fuck that. Give those girls some fucking responsibility.

[–]Bobthemime1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Sadly, the way the world is now, if she was 17years, 364days, 23 hours and 59 minutes old and he hit her up, he would be seen as grooming a minor.

its fucked up, but any wrong doing a woman does underage is glosses over because the man should know better.

just head over to /r/LivestreamFail if you want the fallout of false claims.. for every method josh there are 5 women acting like the pieces of shit that did it do bieber

[–]JamesHardensNutBeard 96 points97 points98 points 6 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

" yeah sitting laughing at yourself for 2 hours doesn't undo your lifetime of being a shit person and doesn't undo all the people you hurt/wronged, we know this is just a shallow way to get the publics good side again"

[–]OrigamiMe 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]tsukubasteve27 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Was that the Sheen roast maybe? Funny either way but it seems a bit harsh for Bieber.

[–]Gliderh2 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I belive they did it for both, i belive it was to right after a few incidents justin was a part of when in a row like the drunk driving and crashed a car, swat broke into his house to get a bunch of drugs he was sharing to all his other 18ish yr old friends, and he was harrasing his old neighbors and threatened to hurt them.

For people i belive it was more light hearted then the shean one, i might have made it sound more mean then i meant to in my original comment

[–]FullBlownButtsack2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]KDawG8880 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I think part of the thing is young boys/men love to destroy things but rarely do they stop and think about how that destruction impacts others. Some learn the hard way. Some never learn. If someone doesn't mature out of that in their mid 20s it is a bad sign IMO.

Seriously. What does “bad music” do to the world?

“I like this music.”

“WHAT?!? Can’t you see that this music will lead to the breakdown of art in general, and music specifically?!?”

“I just kinda like the hook.”

“Plebeian!”

As italian, I kinda wish I was joking)

[–]FirAvel1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I share this sentiment. His music is hot garbage if you ask me, but he seems like an okay dude.

[–]Secondstrike230 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I definitely like his music but I don’t know him personally, he seems fine though. Could be a lot more douchey considering the circumstances.

[–]ballplayer112 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Im from near where he is from (stratford on) and he gets a lot of hate around here too. The kid even purchased a women's shelter type place to prevent it from closing and is #2 all time in the make a wish foundation. He definitely doesn't deserve the hate. (And i hate his genre of music lol)

[–]Dr_Bukkakee 21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

I think a lot of comes from when he was a teenager with millions of dollars and nobody to tell him no. He’s calmed down as he’s gotten older and matured.

[–]Feezus 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dan Harmon has a good rant that has a bit about Bieber's teenage behavior and his money.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-TF589HRyA

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-9 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You shouldn’t need people around you “to tell you no” when it comes to shit like spitting on people from balconies.

[–]Dr_Bukkakee15 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Trust me I guarantee there was stuff you thought was a good idea when you were 15 that you know isn’t a good idea now. He lived a life we will never know about. I’m not saying he wasn’t a little shit, but I get why.

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-16 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Getting a pass for spitting on people because you’re famous at 15 is a fucking cop out.

[–]IsThereAnAshtray13 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don’t think he got a pass. People still talk about it like 10 years later like he fucking killed someone.

[–]BeterThanNibba8 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Exactly lol, he got the opposite of a pass, people hating him for life because of something he did when he was 15

[–]PmButtPics4ADrawing7 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah and honestly who wasn't a bit an asshole at that age. 15-year-olds are the worst

[–]BeterThanNibba6 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So true man, I was a right dickhead haha if my entire life was televised when I was 15 I'd probably have been killed by now

[–]GalaxyMods3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Lol if I was judged by my actions at 15 I’d never be seen in public again.

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-8 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The person above is literally giving him a pass.

[–]ConstantChurro5 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don’t think it’s a pass. I think he’s saying that people do dumb shit in their life, and someone shouldn’t be judged for their mistakes forever. People grow, change, mature and learn from their failures. Being a bad person at 15 shouldn’t damn someone for the rest of your life.

[–]Dr_Bukkakee3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That’s exactly what I am saying. We were shit heads when we were teenagers (some more then others) but can you imagine the fucked up shit we would do with millions of dollars and nobody telling us no?

[–]ConstantChurro2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Man I know! He had $100 million at age 18, and it’s not like he grew up knowing that kind of wealth. He was a middle class Canadian. It was all new to him. I think I’d be dead if I had that kind of wealth and fame at 18.

[–]IsThereAnAshtray2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Because it happened ten years ago and he’s matured.

Plus, he literally spit off a fucking balcony, what’s the big deal? Everyone says he spit on fans but there’s literally no proof of it lol

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There’s video of him doing it. But sure, literally no proof.

[–]IsThereAnAshtray1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh yeah? Find me the video then.

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Your unwillingness to google something isn’t proof of its non-existence but I’m sure you will assert that it is anyway.

[–]KaufJ3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You were the one who brought up him spitting on his fans, so it would be your burden of proof to supply a source on that claim. Not saying you or the other parties involved are in the right here, just stating that normally, if you claim something, be ready to back it up with actual sources.

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I brought it up because saying shit like “no one was there to tell him no” is giving him a pass and it’s a cop out.

People shouldn’t need to others to tell them not to spit on people, no matter how famous they are.

And they shouldn’t get a pass for it after the fact.

[–]IsThereAnAshtray2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Literally looked it up and found a bunch of tabloids showing the pictures with someone talking over it saying he spit on fans.

Then I found a bunch of articles saying that the photos are misleading, he was spitting off a balcony and the fans weren’t below him.

So again, no proof. Thanks for nothing.

[–]roshampo131 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You make a claim, you provide the proof that's how it works you sandwich.

[–]FUCKPAULGEORGE-2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He was he one that claimed a very well known video doesn’t exist. This isn’t a court room, I don’t have a burden of proof. I know it exists and I don’t give a fuck whether this twat does anymore or not.

[–]roshampo131 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

K

[–]IsThereAnAshtray1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]MyNameThru3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When I was 15 I threw eggs at cars on the busy street for a laugh with the boys, and I wasn't rich or famous. Teenagers are shitheads, that doesn't mean someone is shitty forever.

[–]Dr_Bukkakee1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Again, I’m not saying he wasn’t a jerkoff but I’d be willing to bet you’re a good person and I’m sure it’s because you had people in your life to steer you in the right direction and you had to work hard and earn things given to you. This kid was a multi-millionaire with white trash parents who weren’t around and when they were never told him no because he was the one bringing in the cash. Laws didn’t even apply to this kid for the most part, this would fuck up just about anybody and make them think they can do what they want and some of will be shitty behavior.

[–]Swagger_For_Days1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You're literally bringing it up right now lmao how is that a pass

[–]Dame_of_Bones3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]SleezyD944 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]SlutRespector9002 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How the fuck does he get more hate than he deserves? Why would you even think he wouldn't commit sexual assault? The dude's a malignant narcissist or possibly an outright sociopath and has too much money, what the fuck makes any amount of hate "too much" for those factors?

[–]TobaccoAficionado 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Any kid that had as much fame and money as he did would honestly be lucky to turn out as normal as he did. He was kinda crazy when he was younger, but he seems like a pretty normal dude now.

[–]Mayin_ 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Hampamatta 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He was the most famous person on the planet befor he was old enough to drink, he was also stupidly rich before he even understood the value of money. The fact that he hasnt died from overdose yet is a miracle. Honestly respect him a bit now as he has cleaned up quite alot.

And speaking of sexual assault, i have no doubt in my mind that he has been a hictim of it given how much middle aged women was having bieber fever.

Hating Justin Bieber is so 2010

[–]vitunlokit 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I remember when he was still a kid and grown men, comedians and regular people both, talked about how much they hate him and want to beat him up and what not. He turned out surprisingly well considering.

[–]lacedcupcakes1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

People hate him for good reason. One time he left concert fans waiting for two hours while he played video games. He bought a pet monkey, and when he didn’t have the right paperwork for it, he just left it at the airport he was at. He wrote in the Anne Frank house book that Frank would have been a “belieber”. He spray painted a protected heritage site in Brazil. A neighbor of his was unhappy with how loud Justin’s parties were, so Justin decided to egg his neighbor’s house. He once walked off stage during a concert because the fans were “screaming too much” between songs. It’s pretty easy to justify why the little shit sucks so much.

[–]xxb4xx4 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Keep in mind (not justifying his stupidity) he was a young kid shot into stardom.

Imagine how dumb we were as teenagers, now throw tonnes of money and social media into the mix.

[–]jakeeighties3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Hes done alot of asshole things which deserved valid hate. But he did appogise and was at the cunt age we all were once.

Also he can ACTUALLY sing. Meaning he sounds good live. You can youtube it. People like Katy Perry are horrible live.

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_TOlLET1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Same thoughts here exactly. But I don’t remember hearing about him being accused. So my immediate thought was:

Girls: Justin Bieber sexually assaulted us

Justin Bieber immediate response: aaaaaand sued

[–]asdf333aza 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

He was accused posted a shit load of evidence on Twitter that proved he was never in any of the locations the girls mentioned.

[–]s_vnt 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not to mention that the 'allegations' made against him were sparked from anonymous twitter accounts.

[–]negroiso 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dude his evidence was like rock fucking solid. Then I saw this girl coming after AngryJoe and I was like whaaaaaa. You gotta know, the vocal minority is gonna ruin it for the majority and things are gonna go back to “crying wolf” for publicity or mental illness.

100% sexual assault, or any assault is serious, but the law right now doesn’t punish false accusations that are proven with anything nearly as heavy as If it were true, and they should. If a case comes out In a grey area, I think it can be looked at.

My questing is , did anyone apologize to Allysa Milano or whatever for that woman who was accusing Joe Biden of rape or assault? I haven’t heard shit after some news came out that she either was known for making shit up or was essentially proven that it wasn’t real or how it happened in her mind.

[–]thefudmaster 43 points44 points45 points 6 years ago (40 children) | Copy Link

I’ve always wondered why people hate him. He’s very talented and successful. His music isn’t always my favorite but I’ve never “hated” any artist to begin with.

He has a disrespectful attitude and has stirred the pot with quite a few people which one such good incident is his and orlando blooms fight at a club i believe in monaco or some place. He also met the prime minister of canada dressed in a train conductors outfit. He went from amazingly talented young singer to a giant douchebag and he let the money go straight to his head.

[–]SDFriar619 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Canadians when Justin Bieber wears a conductor’s outfit to visit the prime minister: Aaagh what an asshole I’ll never forget this.

Canadians when Justin Trudeau dresses up in blackface: Nah it’s cool he was just young back then.

[–]sadorna1 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah i've always voted ndp in the hopes that one day we will see desperately needed reform in our gov't. Fuck the liberals and the conservatives. Trudeau only has some respect from me due to his reaction to the pandemic of our time. I still think hes a shit human being.

[–]thefudmaster 22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Agreed but I bet each and every one of us would do stupid stuff if cameras were on us all day long. Not defending his shortcomings but to “hate” a person for any reason is a little extreme.

[–]sadorna1 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yes i do not hate him i just find he is not a person who presents himself as likeable. After reading the article as much as i have distaste for him i did gain an amount of respect for what he is doing. And then i went oh damn when i seen he was pursuing 20mill in damages

[–]thefudmaster 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. Also, I said the same thing when seeing that he is seeking damages in that amount.

[–]sadorna1 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]thefudmaster 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely

[–]polish_assoholic0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It may sound a bit unreasonable, but that's kinda why I dislike Bieber (and any other young starlet) honestly.

It's not really his fault and I don't dislike him as a person, but just the concept of giving a teenager tens of millions of dollars and having their entire public life filmed is batshit crazy to me.

[–]thefudmaster0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He wasn’t given anything though. He worked his ass off touring and developing his talent. People traded their money for goods and services.

Again, not a fan of his but there are enough people who are whom buy albums and fill stadiums to watch him sing.

[–]polish_assoholic1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You are still "given" money when you're paid, you're just offering something in return.

Look, all I'm saying is that it's pretty obvious getting a shit ton of money and fame at 15 isn't optimal considering how many of those people end up addicted shells of their former selves within a decade. I think people like Bieber indirectly promote a very unhealthy lifestyle in children and teens.

[–]thefudmaster1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I figured that’s what you were saying. My only issue was with the word “given”. Look at professional athletes who make a ton of money at age 19. They typically aren’t ready for that type of wealth and are broke within a few years of leaving the league.

This is why it is important to surround yourself with individuals who won’t bring you down and be a leech of your bank account.

[–]matrixislife 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

He also met the prime minister of canada dressed in a train conductors outfit.

What the prime minister of Canada wears is hardly Justins fault.
Anyway, a train conductors outfit is less bothersome than blackface.

[–]sadorna1 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

No no justin bieber wore the conductors outfit my bad for poor wording. I do not agree with trudeau. I think having worn blackface should immediatrly discredit/disqualify any chance he had of becoming prime minister

[–]matrixislife1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Nah, it should highlight that people shouldn't be held to current standards when the general consensus has changed so much. Hell, the BBC used to have a show called the "Black and White Minstrels show", all in blackface. Should we cancel the BBC for that? Because if we're going to do it to individuals then organisations should be held equally at fault.

Or just maybe, we should acknowledge that times have changed, attitudes have happily changed with them, and the past is the past. But then, if we did that, where would the press get the outrage from?

[–]sadorna11 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Its not a matter of press outrage. In my opinion any persons who is meant to or does or will hold a position of power such as prime minister or president should be of higher moral understanding and empathy to these types of issues. I do not believe that racism, sexism, elitism or homophobic views should have any place in a government body whether in the past or not. Him changing over the years away from that moment in time does not change the fact that at that moment he was a racist whether by ideals or actions. Im 24 years old and am not a racist so whats his excuse?

[–]twoerd1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Im 24 years old and am not a racist so whats his excuse?

You're not a racist by today's standards. What happens when you run for office in 30 years and some finds out that you did something completely normal that by 2050 will be considered morally wrong?

[–]matrixislife1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Ahh damn, I just made that same argument. I promise, I didn't read this one first, honest.

[–]sadorna11 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Thats okay i seen yours first.

[–]Regular_Chap1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When was this time when blackface was completely normal? I feel like I missed a meeting where all the famous white peoole got together and decided to wear blackface when they were younger.

I remember painting my face black when I was 5 cause my friend was black and the two of us were messing around and I wanted to be black like him. This wasn't yesterday but my mom saw it and explained to me that it's not something you should be doing. If you are above the age of 14 and do blackface and it's after 1950 then there's no excuse.

[–]matrixislife1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Ok, here's where it gets a little tricky. Do you believe that putting on blackface, way back when it was done for the show, was done with the intent to harm or insult a race? If it was then certainly that is racist and deserves condemnation. If not, then they deserve a slap and to be told not to do it again but they will deserve forgiveness. Intent must matter.

Leaving that aside, you say you are 24 and are not racist. How do you know? In 20 years time customs and mores will have changed, and something that you say or do regularly nowadays without any concerns will be condemned as out and out racism. You will be as much a racist as Trudeau is. What's your excuse?

[–]sadorna12 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If there was no intent of racial harm then yes it is forgivable given time and alot more action for the betterment of our country. (I wont digress that point as what i may find suitable for a political reform may be strangely different to yours and would quite likely spark a separate line of debate and discussion.)

Secondly. Not only was i raised to respect all peoples. Regardless of race or religion or sexual orientation. To me our look defines different lineages. Different histories. Different backgrounds. Different religions and beliefs and knowledge. To ignore the human instinct for knowledge is downright degrading and insulting to ones own being, to their nature.

The aforementioned "look" above can be everything from hair colour, texture, style, to the colours of the eyes, the skin, it can show geographic markers from a persons ancestry. They are the entire culmination of their bloodline in one beautiful, breathing, and fascinating creature. With minds so different from each other while still able to latch on to things that are similar. Without each other we would not have what we have today.

This is a very important part of who i am. Knowing my family. Knowing my history. Knowing what led me to be who i am today. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." -George Santayana On my biological fathers side. We know for sure that there is algonquinn métis, acadian french, parisian french, and irish. My biological father is also father to 3 other children with his wife who is east-indian muslim. On my mothers side. Her father was irish, and scottish. Her mother is irish, scottish, dutch.

The dutch is because my great grandmother was a dutch war bride from holland who was running from the nazi's. While on a train towards allied forces at the border, they got stopped by the germans. The german force that stopped the train helped my great grandmother and 200 other people off the train and helped them get away safely. This was told to me first hand by my great grandmother and then again by my grandmother. After getting away to allied forces my great grandmother inevitibly met my great grandfather they got married overseas and returned to the east coast of canada and raised a family after the war.

I myself am a super mixed genetic individual just like every other god damn person on the planet. And in my books when everyone is unique you don't have shit to say about one. But this is just a matter of opinion.

[–]matrixislife1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I was about to post a spiel about how accusations of racism are the currnet "are you now or have you ever been a member of the communist party", and how no matter what your background is, you are never insulated from those accusations, but I realised just in time that it wasn't going to make anyone happy, or more well informed, most likely. So instead I'll say "have a good day!" and look forward to talking to you again sometime.

[–]i-hate-emojis0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That’s a good point and I agree with you. However I think we have to let people grow and change. Everybody makes mistakes and has different viewpoints throughout their lives. Trudeau has definitely admitted that and grown from it. What other leader has knelt and joined with the blm protesters? He’s showing through his actions that he is not that person.

[–]sadorna11 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Which is commendable in and of itself but i do not believe that he has redeemed himself fully. I think leading a minority gov't and his response to covid, is a start but there is more i personally would like to see before i believe he has a fully changed mindset and not a changed appearance in public

[–]i-hate-emojis1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When the lockdown started, he pretty much told his other rich and famous friends that they shouldn't be complaining because they are lucky to be in a position where they don't have to worry about losing a job, possibly a home, not having enough money to feed their family, etc. I was rather impressed by his outlook and give him props for understanding that he has it far easier during this time than most everyone else.

I edited my original comment, a lot of ppl are asking this

[–]AdeonWriter1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If the worst thing you can say about someone is "you dislike the culture around them" then you should say that. The person did nothing to deserve your hate, the culture did.

People really need to learn how to separate that.

But even back then, hating someone because you don't like their haircut is pretty stupid.

Going further, saying you don't like someone because of when they were a kid is even stupider.

Who wasn't an annoying kid?

[–]im_just_dreamy1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yea but i didnt punch a fan, piss in a mopping bucket, egg my neighbors house, drive drunk, and a bunch of other shit. Justin was not a good guy when he was younger. Im not gonna just ignore that

[–]Iteiorddr 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So weird. Just admit its immature and baseless hate and you should truly be indifferent until he's given you a reason.

[–]shorthanded 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey all good, you can bust on him for his past bullshit. Driving drunk and racing cars, spitting on fans, and more.. dudes not a fuckin role model, but good on him for taking these ones to task

[–]alyosha-jq 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I felt exactly the same when I was a younger kid, I just remember all the girls in school fawning over him all the time but most of the boys found him cringey af. How old are you now?

[–]im_just_dreamy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Under 18, i was rlly young ofc and yea all us guys agreed he was cringey as hell

[–]alyosha-jq 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yea same, plus there was that bout where he was getting in trouble all the time (iirc peeing in some flower pot in the restaurant or something, egging a neighbours house, DUI) and it annoyed the crap out of me that people were defending him for that crap but if I were to do any of it I’d get shit on. Really though I don’t mind him much nowadays, but yeah I fucking disliked him big time.

[–]im_just_dreamy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea

[–]Freddie_T_Roxby 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Edit cause ppl keep continuosly asking me this: i dont rlly like justin bieber cause of the culture surrounding him that i grew up with. He was always known as the rlly cringey kid with the basic haircut

Wow, if that's enough to hate someone you must hate a lot of people.

[–]im_just_dreamy0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

young justin bieber was mistreated grown ass men who just had to harass him just because he was a 15 year old boy with a pop hit. anyone who hated justin bieber was the very definition of a "hater". looking back, i cringe at all the people who actively hated the 15 year old kid. if you don't like his music, then don't listen to it. there was zero reason to hate justin bieber in his early days. every viral video of him was probably due to somebody harassing him.

[–]two64651 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Just curious what is your hate fueled by? Or so you just not like his music because that shouldnt be a reason to hate someone.

[–]im_just_dreamy0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

More the enviroment i grew up in rather than the music, i still dont like it but yea. Justin just always seemed extremely annoying and cringey and its the inly thing that rlly stuck with me

[–]FloridianMan691 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Why do you hate him? Is his music a personal attack on you that makes you not only deslike him, but actually hate him as a person? Hate is a strong word man

[–]im_just_dreamy0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Copy from a reply i made earlier: More the enviroment i grew up in rather than the music, i still dont like it but yea. Justin just always seemed extremely annoying and cringey and its the only thing that rlly stuck with me

[–]im_just_dreamy1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No the shit he did isnt excusable “bc he was a celebrity” he literally has attacked photographers, egged his own neighbors house and even pissed in a mop bucket. The only thing that prevented the other town from following the exact same story as Salem was that one of the first people who was accused of being a witch turned right around and sued the shit out of their accuser for defamation of character and that put an end to the witch trial in their village

What's up, /all, ya bunch of all-natural, free-ranged, cantankerous thundercunts? You never fail to disappoint with your passionate, yet deliciously ironic, bigoted reports-how progressive of you. I can practically see the "mom this isnt a phase!" deluge of mascara spilling down your red and puffy faces from here. Yes, Janet, we know, it's also left over baby-fat, its gross. Fuckn brittle little bitches, lol. Get a hold of yourselves, it's embarrassing. But stay and enjoy yourselves. We love your company. You will not be banned or removed unlike your TOTALLY NOT fascistic, censor-adoring, authoritarian soy subs.

But I digress.

I also wanted to take the time to note one very incredible thing that is about to happen. Take a gander at those subscription numbers to the right. Yeah, that's about to hit 500 mother fuckin thousand, and only in a matter of 5 short years. That's fuckn nuts tbh. And do you know what we've been getting threatened with since day one: banishment, quarantine. But thanks to all you outstanding egalitarians, those threats have been nothing more than hot air escaping their salty and shriveled up twats; their limp-dicks leaking from a life of unicorn fraps and overnight-oats. So keep it up, you beautiful bastards; you've done our late leader and founder, /u/mustaka, proud while triggering most of reddit. I say that's a job well done. Go ahead and pat yourselves on the dicks, you deserve it.

We've also got something planned when we hit 500,000 so be on the lookout for a stickied post.

Suck it easy bitches.

As should be the standard.

In the current climate, the accusation of sexual assault or even misconduct can get your life ruined almost completely. Making a false accusation knowingly should result in some hefty consequences.

If you knowingly decide to go after someone in a way that would completely destroy their lives, they should be allowed to come after you through the courts and demand equivalent retribution/restitution.

Only when, I got a gf. Does anyone not see this as a problem. It's literally bugged the fuck out of me, knowing I didn't do the shit, but have I lost friends? Yes. I'm so over it. I can’t confirm it’s true but LA is a weird place man. I can’t stand it

GOAT

[–]Xtrm 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good. I'm not a Beiber fan, but women who falsify sexual assault reports should be charged to the full extent of the law. My wife and I have a friend who has been sexually assaulted a few times and the most recent time didn't even report it because the other times nothing happened. I tried to tell her that by not reporting it, he's guaranteed to just get away with it. But the psychological torment of trying to seek justice for nothing just feels awful.

[–]Zero_Toshiro_M 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He still sucks. Sorry

[–]LumbermanDan 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I kinda feel bad for the guy at this point. Poor dude got pumped full of drugs and had his ego stoked to ridiculous levels. Of course he grew up into a fucked up adult.

.

Good on him for refusing to just roll over and die. Women who falsely accuse men of sexual assault need to be punished severely.

[–]hashtagswagfag 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And they’ll settle out of court

But Bieber does have “fuck you” money so he could drag it way the fuck out and make sure they have to go to court if that’s what he wants

[–]joblagz2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

he believes the two accusations come from one person operating on two accounts.

[–]UntrackedProductions 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]pink_panda2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]TheOilyHill 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Even-Understanding 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like I know he didnt have a gun

[–]freenarative 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

First: false accusations harm genuine claims.

Second: if untrue, they should be publicly named and shamed. No one should be allowed to hide from the law.

Third: he's going to loose. Defamation Implies "damage to a good reputation".

Defence will show pics of him acting like a child, attacking cameramen, being arrested, ABANDONING A MONKEY IN FRANCE that still has psychological issues (allegedly), and finally they will show the pic of him with the paedo-tasche...

Nuff said.

[–]ABadManInLondon 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And his lawyer will show a successful entertainer and business man whose income is derived from a notoriously fickle demographic where the slightest hint of impropriety could be pounced on by some "#MeToo" cunts to ruin his career. If she lied, she'll be working for him forever. If she lied she needs prison, too.

[–]EtherMan1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That would be an absolutely TERRIBLE move for their defense if they did. Absolutely terrible. See, normally, a person's character is not something the "offense" is allowed to bring up. Basically, Bieber would not normally be allowed to bring up the character of the defendant, such as that they're habitual liars. That however changes if the defense wants to bring character into it. Then character does become a viable target...

Basically, if they want to bring up him doing any of those things, then the only thing they'd be able to bring up is someone being unprofessional which is unrelated to the case, while Bieber would be able to bring up stuff that is pertinent to the case, that he would otherwise not be allowed to bring up... So yea, absolutely TERRIBLE choice for them if they do that...

[–]Resgignickell 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]JGrill171 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He has documents and eye witnesses that prove he wasn't at the place these women claim he was at. If they are lying which Is very likely they shouldn't be sued they should be charged. Imagine if they did this to someone without the power and influence like JB? Their lives would be ruined and probably be behind bars in no time.

[–]petechamp0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's pretty worrying that people here with no evidence are assuming he's done nothing wrong. If he doesn't counter sue he looks guilty, but we can't sit here without any clue saying he's definitely not done it.

I feel like the legal language makes it confusing.

[–]cantfindusernameomg2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Nah, defamation shows something along the lines of them intentionally lying and causing him damages from that slander.

If he were guilty, they wouldn't have lied so why would he sue for defamation.

Why is it that everyone believes Bieber but nobody believes Kavanaugh? Double standards much?

[–]lilbruhmanye235 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Back

I know Bieber, this guy could get any girl theres no chance of him raping someone especially a random fan when literally at any moment I could go outside and ask 20 gorgeous girls that are fans if they will suck my dick to come chill with Bieber and they will, like you don't understand this level of fame and also he's not that kind of guy, he had to shut down 95% of girls and it was bad like they would attack him cuz he said no so much, he was beyond selective.

[–]shuipz944 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Bieber didn't scream and shout and talk about how much he still likes drinking.

[–]bryanrobh1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–][deleted]0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Because Kavanaugh didn’t have solid evidence to back himself up, and he was also a whiny bitch. Even if he was innocent the dude was retarded.

[–]22Graeme0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So we shouldn't defend baseless accusations against people if they're a "whiny bitch"?

[–][deleted]2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Justin Bieber, as I mentioned, has solid evidence. Kavanaugh had nothing but his word.

[–]22Graeme-2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

They both have solid evidence, try looking at it

[–][deleted]1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Do we know for sure that these accusations are false or are we just saying "fuck women, go men?"

I'm not saying he's innocent or guilty, I'm just saying accusations should be taken seriously. Skepticism is fine but calling POTENTIAL victims "bitches" is just downright fucking evil IF they are telling the truth.

[–]bridgerdabridge18 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

lmao stupid sjw right here

[–]xPriddyBoi-6 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Fuck off moron. Acknowledging that an accusation is potentially true (in this case it evidently is not) is apolitical. Otherwise, you're doing the exact same fucking thing the evil false accusing bitches are doing. Coming to the conclusion that someone has performed a misdeed with no evidence of the contrary.

[–]Freddie_T_Roxby3 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Do we know for sure that these accusations are false or are we just saying "fuck women, go men?"

If their accusations were true, he wouldn't be in a position to sue to them.

Also, you clearly have internet access, so you could have googled it.

It took me literally less than 30 seconds to find an article showing that he wasn't even at the hotels where and when they claimed the assaults happened.

I'm not saying he's innocent or guilty,

But the fact that you're defending them, and not defending him, kind of tells which side you're leaning towards.

I'm just saying accusations should be taken seriously.

No you're not. Because your knee jerk reaction is to side with them, not taking his accusation of them seriously.

Skepticism is fine but calling POTENTIAL victims "bitches" is just downright fucking evil IF they are telling the truth.

The facts that are already public knowledge are plenty sufficient to accurately call them lying bitches.

[–]xPriddyBoi-2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If their accusations were true, he wouldn't be in a position to sue to them.

That's not true at all. If they don't have any evidence, even if it's true, he could still easily sue for slander.

Also, you clearly have internet access, so you could have googled it.

You're right, I should have researched before jumping to conclusions. It's not often that there's real proof on either side of a rape accusation, so I made an assumption I shouldn't have made.

But the fact that you're defending them, and not defending him, kind of tells which side you're leaning towards.

I was defending them on the assumption that there was no evidence, and they were potentially truthful claims. It wouldn't make sense for me to defend the accused in a thread literally devoted to defending him, there's nothing to defend him against here. If someone were to call him a rapist I'd say the exact same thing.

No you're not. Because your knee jerk reaction is to side with them, not taking his accusation of them seriously.

This is just blatantly untrue. My comment is completely clear that (under the assumption of there being no proof) either side could be guilty or innocent, and throwing unverifiable 'liar' accusations is just the same as throwing unverifiable 'rape' accusations.

The facts that are already public knowledge are plenty sufficient to accurately call them lying bitches.

This is true, I didn't look into it when I should've.

[–]Freddie_T_Roxby2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You're right, I should have researched before jumping to conclusions.

This is the only sentence in your entire reply which is accurate or necessary as a response.

Edit: You should really edit or delete all your comments on this thread. In multiple places you've accused people of basing their opinions on assumptions, which you only believed because you were too lazy to inform yourself and realize they're right.

[–]xPriddyBoi-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No. My original comment made no such accusation.

Do we know for sure that these accusations are false or are we just saying "fuck women, go men?"

This is a question. While I DID assume that there was no evidence, this was intentionally worded so that someone could provide me with evidence to the contrary, which OP respectfully did.

The only other comment you could even be referring to is:

It's why this sub gets ridiculed so much, it became an incel breeding ground. I'm totally for the idea that women shouldn't get out of being shitty just for being women, but I guess that was a slippery slope to everyone treating it as a "fuck women" circlejerk.

Which is a statement on the state of the subreddit in general, not this particular thread.

I made no accusations about anyone. I asked a question that didn't need to be asked because I could've found the answer myself.

[–]Freddie_T_Roxby2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You literally just admitted you should have educated y yourself before posting.

Stop arguing and trying to defend your ignorance.

[–]MyNameIsChrisHansen82 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Why is it okay to call potential attackers rapists automatically and taint their name without any proof? You do realize an innocent guy can have their life ruined over just an allegation even if he’s proven innocent because people just want to believe the dramatic story.

[–]xPriddyBoi1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's not okay, and I never said it was. I thought it was pretty clear that I was saying false accusations are wrong, but so is blowing off an accuser as a lying bitch without any evidence. Nobody is a confirmed rapist or liar unless there is ended to the contrary.

[–]Shaky2-20 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The total lack of empathy for the fact that these women might be telling the truth is staggering. It's literally just "men good women bad bitch" it's so fucked.

[–]BratwurstZ9 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Did you even read the response he gave? Even though he shouldn't have to, he provided enough proof that these accusations are bullshit.

[–]MyNameIsChrisHansen82 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Serious question for you, not trying to be a prick. Where do you draw the line? Is it okay to automatically believe women who make a claim without solid proof and label a guy as a rapist? As a guy it’s getting scary in this world with how many girls make false claims. I personally have witnessed 3 friends be the victim of a false allegation like that who would’ve been fucked if multiple people hadn’t witnessed nothing happened.

It’s a very tricky situation but I think it’s absolute bs that suddenly for rape allegations we throw out innocent until proven guilty. In most countries any crime is innocent until proven guilty but when it comes to women making these allegations its guilty until proven innocent for guys who usually are screwed at that point because no matter what happens they’ll have that label stick to them for the rest of their life.

[–]Shaky21 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't think it's completely black and white, but to call a women a bitch without any proof that she's lying is fucking insane

[–]MyNameIsChrisHansen81 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I agree that’s insane. But it’s also fucking insane to even remotely label a guy as a predator without any proof is fucking insane.

[–]Shaky21 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Both can be true. Nuance is key in these situations

[–]FewCansBeGrand2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you looked into it, you'd see that they definitely aren't telling the truth. There's no "might be".

[–]xPriddyBoi-14 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]CyclopeWarrior-49 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I mean let's be honest, when it's Justin Bieber being accused it's not that crazy of a thought ya kno

[–]roadpierate10 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Why’s that?

[–]warablo-49 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You really gonna defend Justin Bieber, who would go around and pick women out of the crowd to try and fuck?

[–]odel555q25 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Every musician ever.

[–]ihadtotypesomething9 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The fact that he could do that with willing women shows the rape/assault allegations are pure bullshit. I don't like his music, and don't particularly care for him as a person, but bitches be bitches. These cunts are gold diggers

[–]warablo-13 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I think it hurts his case really, hes used to having that power. So when a girl says no, they get upset.

[–]bridgerdabridge14 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

this is why women aren’t taken seriously

[–]SuaveWarlock1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Because of Biebers mustache?

[–]SuaveWarlock0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Because of my comment? Fuck off. Look at what sub you're on
