They used height as a proxy for looks for measurement purposes. In general, for every inch below 5’10”, a man has to make $30,000 a year more to be equally attractive. So a 5’6” man can be equally attractive as a 6’0” man if he makes $180,000 more per year. So if the 6’0” guy makes $45k a year, the 5’6” guy would need to make $225k a year.

While specific answers will dependent upon local/regional social economic conditions, a few orders of magnitude wealthier would be a start (i.e. be capable of consistently attract the homeless broke).

However, even in terms of wealth how that wealth is utilized is also important to a certain extent: a good portion of that wealth needs to be in investment or be seen as 'working' as to generate more wealth. This act of the wealth 'working' also brings in social legitimacy and respectability.

Dude, you guys are way too hung up on looks. Women care about money, primarily. I can tell you as a 6’1, buff, tatted, 25 y/o former model who hasn’t been laid in 2 years, looks don’t matter too much to women (my setback is that I’m Black and average earning). As for the number. What qualities you as “rich”…I think when you consistently clear 1mil a year after taxes, you’re rich. So I’d say 1mil or more for 5 at least consecutive years. But them again, you could hit the lotto or get a $30mil inheritance and that would make you rich as well, even though you aren’t generating that yearly.

Im confused by this question because you basically said what the answer can’t be. 3 is pretty unattractive while 5 is only slightly unattractive so I would say if dude was a 3 probably he would need close to a million annually or more and some social status to boot. If he was a 5 probably quarter mil or so annually would be good enough for some women. It ultimately depends on the woman though some women can’t be bought, and everyone has their threshold. I personally find it very hard to feign attraction I have literally tried the “date the wealthy dude you aren’t into” and um yea I didn’t last.

This is impossible to say. It is entirely contextual. The only thing that seems fairly clear is that the trend is for it to take more and more resources to make up for being unattractive. And that the physical portion of male attractiveness is increasingly important.

It doesn't work quite like that. Having things can help with getting laid. But not a relationship. How money makes a man more attractive is clothes, skin care, styling, and confidence. Also with money you can work on charisma, social skills and so on. Women can get money. They don't need to long term bang some dude to get it. Think of it like this. Betty white is very rich, does that make her hot? Would an extra million make her hot? No. Of course not. Now granted you may take one for the team for a new car or something. You wouldn't find her attractive though.

I’d say it depends.

An unattractive, nondescript man with a net worth of $5 Million is still going to be unattractive to the unassuming woman.

This is more about how he presents himself out and about, and if he still wears non-descript clothes and drives an economy car, he’s not likely to attract her.

However, a guy who makes $90-130k a year who buys designer and stretches himself thin renting a nice spot and paying a car note, car insurance and buying jewelry would probably have just as good a shot at attracting the slightly below average woman as the non-descript rich man.

It's "Mothers Day" in my country (Idk if this is a special day in other countries too or they celebrate it on a different date) and I was just scrolling IG and I stumbled upon one of my friends "greetings" post for his two baby mammas. After trying a few Michelin star restaurants and getting whisked away to Paris for the weekend, the excitement wears off quickly and you start missing physical attraction and that sensation that makes you alive. We had a study posted on PPD a while back. It showed that for every 10x increase in wealth, a mans SMV goes up 1 point.

So a 3/10 making 10k/year is a 4/10 making 100k, and a 5/10 making 1M.

Except for Asian women, where every 10x increase in wealth saw the mans SMV go up by 1.5 pts.

It depends on the woman. Someone who has never had money is going to value a smaller amount that someone who grew up in an upper middle class home.

A man making a few hundred thousand doesn’t really impress me. I could see myself going for a man who makes millions of dollars a yearly, like multiple millions even if he wasn’t great looking. I would have no interest in a trust fund baby because that money can run out and pretty quickly too depending on the persons lifestyle.

Looks are both objective and subjective and women have different personal preferences in what they find attractive in a man. A woman may consider one guy to be a 4/10, while some other woman may consider him to be a 7/10, if that makes sense. So men should ideally go for women who consider their type to be attractive, or at least attractive enough to give them a shot. There's no point in chasing after a girl who wants a 6 ft tall "macho man" when you're not that at all.

Also, some women don't care about looks as much. If the man has a great personality and seems like a good guy, some women may be able to look past the looks factor. I'm not saying all women will do this, but some will.

Also, some women are realistic about their standards. They may figure that they're not a looker themselves so they should be realistic and date someone with a similar level of attractiveness to themselves. So a 4/10 woman may be willing to date a 4/10 man for this reason. We do generally speaking, date people with similar levels of attractiveness to ourselves.

Two people with different attributes never have the same chances with other people...the people who change their minds about you completely when you show them a large sum of money are a select group of the broader group and are not going to give you the same results. People are not fungible, one 7/10 is not the same as another 7/10

That said, having enough money to remove obstacles to progressing a relationship is certainly going to maximize your chances of seeing a dating style LTR through to a fully committed marriage or cohabitation situation. People, rather understandably, factor in things like risk of homelessness, loss of the day to day support of their parents, travel times, whether they can bring their pets when it comes to deciding when to progress a relationship and a person with resources can remove many obstacles.
