The few none monogamous relationships I have known that succeeded in any shape or form were couples that really LOVED hanging together, they were PARTNERS in crime, they ADMIRED each other as INDIVIDUALS.

I am in an open relationship with my long term partner. It only works because we have a deep trust and respect for each other. We don’t approach ONS like something we ‘need’, it’s just if the opportunity comes up for one of us and our partner is ok with that (we do a lot of check ins) we pursue it if we want.

Yeah, you don't want an open relationship. You want permission to cheat, and no, women won't go for that. I was in that situation with a boyfriend in college who wanted to open the relationship up. Shock and horror, the women he was certain would bang him didn't. But then when I found a potential partner he wanted to put more clauses and conditions on the situation than a Van Halen concert contract. We broke up before either one of us slept with anyone else.

Edit: I saw your answer where you said you didn't expect monogamy from her. But the point still stands that if you're already attaching terms and conditions to it to try to limit her sexual opportunity, that's probably a sign you aren't in a great headspace for it.

You might be able to pull it off if you go for women with low self-esteem, play monogamous for awhile then try to open it up.

Keep in mind though that the relationship will end because what will happen is she will end up getting far, far more action than you, which will bolster her self-esteem and she’ll leave you for a man who wants to be monogamous with her.

The other outcome is that you shatter her and she dumps you. Do you really want to do that to a woman?

You could look for poly women on apps but they’re usually drowning in offers so you’d better be impressive. Another strategy is to contact poly men online and ask to be introduced to their wives or girlfriends or join some sort of swinging community.

Unfair playing field for women because their are way more thirsty men than thirsty women. For example, look at the dating sites. Women get hundreds of guys trying to hookup with them While men have very few options. I don’t see it working out for men. In my experience most women say they would never be willing to do that.

Also in my experience, most women are perfectly willing to do that in the right circumstances.

It is usually not their ideal, but if they really like you, and sense that you are being coherent with your values and they like being with you, they are happy to turn a blind eye.

Only a minority of women actually seem to prefer it (they are more independent, have time constraints and are not emotionally needy, want to do the same thing themselves, or see you as higher value as a result).

It very much depends on the man and how he presents himself.

Basically, in the early stages of the relationship, explicitly or implicitly you set out your terms and the other person either accepts or rejects them depending on their feelings.

It depends on your leverage, which in turn depends on the difference in value between you and the girl.

However, speaking from experience, don't go there. It's not worth it for the guy.

Also consider that if you fuck other girls that less dick that your gf needs to take, so she's not likely to mind for that reason.
