A few days ago I had a talk to a male friend of mine. He is currently trying to date women and has been asking for my advice. At some point we started talking about who pays for dates. He was surprised to learn that despite my feminist attitudes, I expect a man to pay. I don't mind if he doesn't pay but I just assume that he is not interested and there will be no second date if the man doesn't offer to pay. I never met any exception to this rule. All men who were interested in getting to know me paid for the date. Those who split the bill didn't even ask for a second date (pre FDS).

When I explained to him why a man who is interested pays, he told me "But why would I pay for a random woman I met? I don't even know her". His reaction amused me because he basically showed how FDS is really good at weeding out low effort and barely interested men. He wants to meet women and have a good time but he is not willing to put the neccessary effort in it because it's some "random woman". So for those of you who are still struggling with the FDS mindset, you should be aware that these strategies are really effective at eliminating low effort men from your dating pool. Men who want you will do everything to impress you and court you.

Mind you that both of us come from cultures where men are expected to pay but we have lived in countries where it's more common to split the bill.
