If you want to appreciate how creepy sex dolls are, just imagine a woman having a silicone boyfriend in the cupboard that she regularly climbs on and rides. She will likely keep doing that while you're dating and through your entire relationship. She might even have a name and a personality for him in her mind. Would you be comfortable with that? My husband had some sex toys when we got together, and it was a huge plus for me as so did I, and I love incorporating toys into sex! It’s a green flag that they are pro sex toys. I also have no problem with my partners masturbating and expect them to have no problem with me masturbating, so being open with sex toys is another green flag they are good with that. Fleshlight would be fine with me. The sex dolls would be a no for me for the following reasons:

huge, heavy and take up space
expensive, so that means he wastes money on dumb things
they are creepy looking, and if someone can get off to something creepy, that makes them also creepy

Fleshlights or any normal toy are great and I'd even say a positive as it shows he's probably more open to exploring and in tune with his sexuality. I'd before wary about a doll. I can't think of any reason that I like why this man would feel his toys need to have a human face, but even if I don't like the reason it might not be a dealbreaker.

I have seen how expensive they can get.

Paying 30-50 for a flashlight is not the same as paying upwards of 500 for a sex doll(most range in the 1000s though which is worse)

I just don’t see it as a sound investment—at least not at my age where people really shouldn’t be so downtrodden by a lack of sex that they resort to making hasty financial decisions like buying a sex doll.

My husband had toys when we met - fleshlight and a variety of buttplugs. It's one of the many things I loved about him right off the bat - my previous two relationships were with people a lot more sexually conservative who were not willing to try new things and didn't like toys. I love that my husband is sexually adventurous and open about what he enjoys.

I wouldn’t date a man who owned either a fleshlight or a sex doll. I appreciate that for men who’ve jerked their dicks dead, a fleshlight is usually the only way to come back from that, but I just think a man should be able to learn some self control and not choke his dick to death grip.

A Fleshlight wouldn't even begin to register as something I'd question, but a sex doll would give me a huge pause.

Now I think it's mostly because while I know guys who have Fleshlights (and are in sexually active/fulfilling marriages/relationships), I don't know a single dude in real life who has a sex doll. At least none have talked about it, which is pretty understandable. So the only guys I know about who have them, like them, or strongly believe that sex robots are the future are terminally online guys who spout incel/MGTOW stuff. As they put it, women should learn our place and role if we don't want to be replaced en masse by sex dolls and sex robots. So my possible avoidance of someone who owns a sex doll is less about the doll itself and more about the type of guy who would own one.

Maybe perfectly chill, non-women hating dudes DO own them but aren't vocal about it online. Maybe I'm not in the spaces where normal guys who have them chat. The internet isn't a perfect representation of real life.

This question has me wondering how I'd feel about a woman with a sex doll, though. It feels sort of like a pointless creation, like there are so many toys out there to do a job, does it really need to have a face? So maybe I find the concept of a doll creepier than I initially thought.
