In the sexual market place, I think your facial aesthetics, height, and physical frame comes first, then your musculature and socio-economic status, then your personality and sociality. High status in this case means you are well above-average in some if not most of those categories.

High status strictly in the socio-economic sense, then it’s the amount of money you make and/or your networth first and foremost, the lifestyle you lead second, then finally the social prestige of your given profession.

I know 2 blue collar guys (one who literally admits he has dreams about his job with triple glazed windows and his son who fixes roofs) and they’re BOTH married. The guy who dreams about triple glazed windows married my beautiful aunt and she’s his third wife. The son is a hot guy who is married with kids.

I’m probably making more than 99% of people my age and I’ve seen some questionable comments on this post already, most likely from low earning people who somehow fill this sub, or worse, unemployed college kids that think they know everything.

I want to right away dispel this weird notion that men don’t care about a women’s job. I absolutely do care. I’m a high earning man with a solid net worth, why don’t I deserve a high earning women? It’s also a great way of avoiding gold diggers. Also, I enjoy having intelligent, fulfilling conversations with people. I don’t want to be in a relationship with an air head or someone who isn’t driven and ambitious.

High status actually has nothing to do with your job. That's just society brainwashing to force men to work harder and achieve new goals in order to move society forward. It links high self esteem and confidence (being a Chad) with things that society deems valuable, such as a high paying job, being an athlete, doing some heroic stuff, like running into burning buildings, a rock star, etc. Society basically permits these men to act confidently and get the girls they desire, while shaming everyone else that they are not enough in order to get them to work harder.

High status helps but there are a lot of factors. You need at least some of them. If you only have one or two, then they need to really stand out. For example, if you only have height, you need to be 6'7. If you only have money, then you need 10s of millions.

More often than not its about the money. Women expect men to match their standards of life, plus contribute to making their life better so having an income that is the same or better is generally a requirement for most women.

My fiancé works a blue collar trade job and worked his way up to earning $120k (this year, expected about $150k next year) a year.

I was with him when he was only earning $14/hr as an apprentice (that’s here in Australia so that is less than what you would pay a 14yo kid working at a checkout in a supermarket). You can pay apprentices very low here for some reason. Our minimum wage is like $22 or something.

I’ve had people tell me I’m only with him for his money but 17yo me definitely wasn’t dating that man for money. I dated him because I loved him.

To be honest, though, you’re probably not going to fuck bulk babes if you are the KFC drive through guy. It’s just not sexy.

I think high status means you are special on some level. Some people are high status because they are rich, some are high status because they are giga chads, some are high status because they are geniuses. The problem with modern dating is that a moderately attractive girl gets attention from all kinds of men including high status men. If you don't stand out, why would anybody notice you? I respect factory workers because they do a tough job. The problem with being a factory worker is that you don't improve women's lives the same way high status men do. You always have to think about what do you bring to the table that other men can't?
