There are totally women out there who are okay with their partners stepping out if they provide them with xyz. I bet if you asked them before they got into that situation, they too would say hell no. I think unless you’re in that situation, it’s hard to say yes.

In theory, no I’m not okay with the man I love sleeping with other women. If I were actually dating a “HVM” (let’s just say rich because that’s what you mean), and he had improved my life the way I assume dating a rich man does, and he began cheating on me, it would be harder to leave because of emotions and the lifestyle change.

People will say things but when push comes to shove, not Actually do them. Not because they were lying the whole time but because the reality of things is so different to thought experiments where you have no emotional attachment.

For eg if I asked people “would you stay in a sexless marriage” Im sure nearly all the responses would be hell no. But check out the deadbedrooms sub. It’s people crying themselves to sleep because they aren’t having sex, but they can’t or won’t leave because they love their partner so much, there’s kids, the house, etc. There’s even unmarried, childless people in there that don’t want to leave because they love their partner so much. Does this mean everyone is lying? No. The reality is just completely different to the thought experiment.

I don’t think the guys who said they would never become a stepdad are lying. I’m sure they think they would never. But if they were 45, divorced and met a lovely lady that had kids, they would reconsider.

Because there is a thing you're missing here. We would want a guy who had all that sure. Yes attractive, successful sure charismatic and kind. But the kicker is they only want us. Have only eyes for us want exclusivity with us. It falls under that whole kindness thing a decent partner for all their worth isn't going to entertain and sleep with other people if they chose one partner. It's dishonest and devaluing to a person you supposedly care about. Why would I date someone who gives the same attention he gives me to other people? There's nothing in it for me and shows his blatant disrespect for me as a partner that he views me as a commodity for him as something to use than an actual person. The first example....men rejecting step-parenthood totally but ending up a step parent anyway is clearly something that happens often in the real world. Plenty of stepdads out there who never saw it coming or wanted it until they actually did it. I'd wager good money that at least one of the "I would never" guys who answered will become a stepdad before ten years are out. It just happens. I've watched it happen to guys I work with. She's keeps a stable household because she's got a kid and he starts spending more and more time there because it is better in many ways than the sharehouse or being around his parents so much. The only way to for sure avoid this is just not ever enter a single mother's place of residence but most guys are willing in order to have sex. So guys who say they would never end up doing it anyway. She creates a situation that sucks him in like a vacuum. Turns out the single and loving it reality he was making for himself wasn't so great to live in yet, and her reality was an easy jump. That's life. There are guys there answering falsely because they haven't encountered real life enough yet.

The second example... that op framed it upfront in a way these guys who end up with a wife who lets them cheat pretty much almost never do. The op got the true answers to the question he actually asked...which wasn't the same as the challenge the reality of a man who isn't faithful usually imposes. The women in those situations almost always had an extended period of thinking they were the only one, became heavily invested...kids, a house they've put a lot of effort into, a shared social circle...then when it comes out decided not to burn all that stuff to the ground immediately just because they'd lost a lot of respect and love for their partner. Often they start having their own men on the side and implementing a plan to get out. I personally know one woman who's reaction to the revelation was to hurry up and have her second baby so when she left she had completed her child bearing and that was out the way and she didn't need to find another baby daddy while she lived happily on the child support. So yeah... similar. Women answering "I would never" because indeed they would never if offered it as a one step move.

I don't think you've seen much of the real world yet and that's why you're not seeing the full picture.

Between the ages of 19-24 I worked in a very upscale 5 star hotel. We had a lot of rich clientele, a lot of men staying on business etc. I got asked out a few times by men wearing tailored suits and Rolex’s and I never bit. Very rarely are these rich guys even attractive or desirable sexually. Maybe they weren’t looking for anything like that just wanted some fun from me, I don’t know, I never got that far, my point is that not all women want a rich flashy guy.

Based on my limited experience here I would say women tend to be more vague about things. Currently in another thread arguing with this chick about the difference between "awkward" and "uncomfortable" and she is so evasive about providing specifics.

I haven't seen outright lying too much, more just a lack of seriousness taken for some subjects from them.

I'd also say watch actions is applicable to both men and women.

100% being honest right now, I think women have a hard time reigning in their ego when it comes to debating shit. It's as if theoretical conversations are opportunities to convey how great they are as people and morally superior. It's so rare to see a woman say "hey you know what, you made a good point right there, I'm kind of shitty sometimes." A lot of guys have the same problem but I've met way more men who can take a hit to the ego than women. How often do you meet self-deprecating women? I think one of the main reasons why guys are so brutally honest about dating dynamics is because it’s extremely difficult for most of us. To the younger men here, when women give dating advice, don't pay much attention to what they say. Watch what they DO. I'll give you an example: I remember a discussion on height in men, and every other woman was like, "well it doesn't matter for the right guy." Then you ask what height their bf is, and they're all like 6'1-6'3. But they're totally ok dating a 5'4 guy, it just so happens that every guy they date is 5'10+. So disregard what they say and watch what they do. Women also will make the weakest excuses for no second date. This means they were NOT feeling your vibe and aren't interested in you. You'd think they'd be direct like men and just say they weren't into you, but many won't. But look how many posts here are about guys who went on a date, thought they hit it off, and the woman just vanishes. Don't expect honesty from women about dating. Figure it out on your own. It's actually not as hard as you think as long as you take care of yourself, have a competent life/job, and a passion or two where you can meet women. Example: I've met women rock climbing, in my MMA class, etc. MMA is like shooting fish in a barrel, because something about women watching you dominate another man turns them on. No idea why, but I don't care. It just works.
