I don't mention this shit IRL but the number of dudes who have used me to vent basically these exact topics, mostly unpromoted, is concerningly high. They may not use red pill terminology but I think the average dude who's been dating has caught on that being a nice dude and expecting it to work out is just not how it works, or that theres a pretty decently sized cadre of women who have either extreme demands or unrealistic expectations.

If this wasn't so all those pinkpill girlies woildn't exist, because finding a dude willing to buy you dinner and take it slow would be a given.

The team blue is very much alive in where I'm from.

Everything works out well for the handsome guys here which means they swear by it and in rare cases it fails, they just find someone new with no effort.

The average (and lonely) guys also fanatically believe in blue because they still believe they are in full control of their lives. They are also very much scared of expressing their opinion as it would "bring negativity".

If I even slightly hint at any sort of discontent I get shut down. I'm actually lucky to have a seemingly functional dating life at this very moment.

You're correct that average men are less likely to be bluepilled these days. Now that we're all more interconnected than ever as a species, female hypergamy and amoral behavior is more easily on display and readily available for men to see (for example: the "ick" trend, dating apps statistics, etc.) It was easier for men to bury their heads in the sand and deny these things about women ten years ago. In general, women on the other hand will stay bluepilled since they have to feed into the delusion that they're moral beings because they need to appear nurturing in order to be attractive to Chad.

To me, Blue Pill is just the mainstream set of beliefs about how dating and romance function. Specifically for men it is the beliefs and advice about how to be successful with women.

Most men and women I know subscribe to something like this. That's what mainstream means.

For most of my life (I'm 40) the gap between these Blue Pill beliefs and the reality of romance for men has been vast. Over the last 10 years it has been narrowing as exchange of information on the internet has forced the abandonment of the some of the most ridiculous caricatures of how things are. There is still a gap, so the term "Blue Pill" is still useful to describe it.

Now, I don't think Red Pill is the perfect antidote to Blue Pill, but a man must still seek advice outside of the mainstream to be the most successful, unless he's a natural who intuitively understands everything.

I know a guy in his early 20s who is tall handsome and has money who is rushing into marriage with a girl who is not really all that and who is probably his first LTR, and who incidentally has been flirty with me. Know another young guy whose wife cheated on him and left him and he still wanted to try to make things work and go to couples counseling. Know another guy under 30 in a LTR with his HS sweetheart who he could do better than. I think deep down he knows that so he tried to open up the relationship and sleep with this girl way out of his league and when that failed he went back tail between his legs and will probably never leave her. Blue pill is still the norm at least in terms of how guys behave, whether or not they think they’re aware of some RP truths.

To BPers, "blue pill" is basically disagreeing with TRP, usually with it's stance on women, relationships, and/or science. Generally by agreeing with societies mainstream view of these matters (hence, the blue pill). There's no set philosophy or goal other than disagreeing with RPers, so /r/TheRedPill and /r/TheBluePill shouldn't be seen as two contrasting ideologies so much as one strategy and set of beliefs about the world and another group that satirizes and disagrees with it.

To many RPers, "blue pill" is everything they used to see themselves as: doormat, "beta", "white knight", "oneitis", putting women on a pedestal, etc. It is everybody who has not taken the red pill. (https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/wiki/terms/#wiki_blue_pill_.28or_the_blue_pill.29)

Simply put, the Blue Pill is a negative ideology that is defined solely by opposition to the Red Pill. A Red Piller believes (Red Pill = True), and a Blue Piller believes (Red Pill =/= True). People who identify as Blue Pill, aren't out here offering an alternative or philosophy, and they don't have the burden of proof to establish one.

As such, TBP is just an umbrella term of people who disagree with TRP. Now, it should be noted that it is easier to attack a belief than it is to defend it, because all TBP has to do to disprove TRP is poke holes in it. Think about it like this, TRP is like a thesis, and it needs to be defended from criticism (TBP). A Grad student cannot defend their thesis by attacking their professors, we all see why that doesn't work.

However, TRP is an Orwellian belief structure in that it relies almost entirely on creating and identifying an enemy. And because there is no good science or anything behind TRP it is all but impossible for TRP to defend itself on its own merits. They cannot logically attack TBP as it is a negative position. So TRP pulls two clever rhetorical tricks,

They set up a strawman where they attribute a positive belief system (strategically they selected their own recruitment base, "Nice Guys"), and define that as TBP. Once they have a strawman set up, they can attack it. This is bad logic, because there is no one belief structure employed by people who believe in TBP. The only unifying belief that they hold is that TRP is wrong. If you can't see why TRP creating a strawman definition of TBP as being "things that don't work" is obviously illogical...
They then employ a false dichotomy fallacy. Once they defeat their strawman, they imply that it is either "Strawman BP" or TRP. This is bad logic because obviously, two things can be incorrect at the same time.

If you don't believe that TRP is trying to define their own recruitment base as "TBP"... simply make a thread attacking "Nice Guys"... and watch as people from TRP jump out from the woodwork to defend "Nice Guys" against people who are actually TBP. Its not even subtle.

You need more proof? Look at the beliefs ascribed to the Blue Pill in the OP, and see how many Blue flaired users are actually making those arguments. This thread is a complete disconnect from reality.

Everyone jumping on board is a fool, should feel ashamed, and probably take a logic course and brush up on reading comprehension. If you actually consider yourself "smart" please stop circle jerking around a strawman.

Am I a bluepiller? Because I do share this "delusion" that if you are a kind person and you are fun to be around, you will eventually meet a good match organically. I think this is supported by studies that have shown that exhibiting kindness will literally make women perceive you as more physically attractive. But more importantly, I think being kind is its own reward and doesn't need to be justified by whether or not it gets women to sleep with you.

That said, I think redpillers are also correct about a lot of their descriptions and prescriptions of the modern dating world. I just don't think you have to be a part of that world if you don't want to. You can opt-out any time you want, it's just a matter of shifting your perspective and your priorities.

BP was a direct response to RP - TheBluePill sub was invented much like the IncelTears sub - it was a sub where people mostly got together to make fun of the Red Pill.

Generously, "BluePill" is what you call someone who disagrees with RedPill. Less generously, it was people who like to get together and bully and mock people they perceive as easy targets - young men who are socially awkward and struggling to connect with others.

I think internet discourse around socializing/dating has changed significantly over the last few years. I think three big changes happened:

COVID. Duh.
Tech became emboldened. Back in the day censorship was quite rare. Saying stuff like "OP is a f*ggut" was constantly on the front page and subreddits like coontown were allowed to exist on the basis of free speech. Nowadays a lot of subs are banned/quarantined, including the manosphere subs. Not saying this is good or bad, just a change.
Male self-improvement went mainstream. You don't really need to go to niche forums like this when you get many of the same ideas on your tiktok/insta feed.

There are realities of dating in the sense that everyone has preferences, but for the most part, everyone seems able to pair up, even with multiple people as poly is very popular here. The women who are poly are hot, but if controlling your partner, having them act like your mom, or any of the rest of that tradwife filth, you’re probably out of luck unless you become mormon and even then… mormon church is very strong in vegas, but that’s still only like 10% of the population (which would be like a quarter million people). I don’t believe in “pills”, and I think that the reference to the Matrix is just a way to sugarcoat misery. This said, some behaviors ascribed to the bluepill are still quite widespread like: - Simping/orbiting - Believing that every Jack will find his own Jill - Believing that looks don’t count - Ignoring hypergamy

Acknowledging the above doesn’t necessarily mean to believe in “pills” and finding a healthy way (that doesn’t include blaming, shaming or violence) to deal with it will be beneficial for everyone.

Depends on what you think “blue pill” is. Disney fairy tale thinking? Or just “not red pill”? If it’s the former, no, most adults do not think that way. Maybe a few who simply got lucky and met their perfect match early in life. But most are “blue pill” in the sense that they don’t read red pill books or consume RP content, or spend a great deal of time analyzing dating.

I disagree. Blue pill hasn't even been around that long, and didn't really start to gain any sort of traction until recently. I would say it's in decline though, and will be short-lived.
