Most of the common arguments against AF/BB fundamentally misunderstand the term.

There is a small time window that society encourages women to have children. From age 27 to age 37. Before 27 you're typically considered too young and after 35 you're too old.

Regardless of what reddit says, most women do want to have kids at some point in their lives and they do make an attempt. So if you're a 30 yo woman and still haven't found the right man, what are you going to do? You're going to settle for the first man who is "good enough" and promises to marry you and have kids with you. It's a rational strategy from the woman's perspective.

"But most women marry men they're attracted to"

Even if they're a bit attracted to their beta bucks , the point is that they don't find him as attractive as they found their ex-boyfriends.

"But the men they're marrying get a better deal than the previous loser boyfriends"

It's woman's logic that marriage and kids is the best deal. Most men want above all to have a good sex life and be genuinely loved and desired.

"But men settle too"

Well, if men marry women they don't find as attractive and treat them with more disrespect and scorn than they treated their exes and feel like they don't have to try as hard as they tried with their exes, then that definitely sucks too.
