I think calling her friend rude probably put her on the defensive foot. When you first attempted to leave you probably should have just mentioned that it seemed like her/friend were overdue a catch-up and you'd meet her again another time. She's always going to jump to the defence of a friend over a stranger so better to just avoid any potential conflict there. Calling the friend rude and complaining clearly came across as pouting/sulking to her as well.

Not leaving the first time also put the control of the situation back in her court. You're not having a good time but she asked you to stay and you did as requested. You definitely should have gone at that first attempt and left her looking forward to picking up on a second date.

I had a girl invite me to come see her at a bar/club, and when I got there, she was just all over the place. She would just run off with her friends as a few guys were following them around, wouldn’t hold an actual conversation, but would occasionally text me asking me where I was. Instead of following her around like a puppy, I started hitting other people up on Snapchat, trying to find something else to get into. Eventually she asked if I would join her to take shots in her vehicle. I obliged. One thing lead to another and she somehow ended up picking up my phone and going through my Snapchat while I was talking to her friend. I guess she got jealous because she posted herself in my snap story. It was honestly pretty embarrassing.

Thinking back, I wish I just would have left sooner.

OP I suggest that if you want to see if it goes any further, you gotta just leave the ball in her court. It doesn’t sound worth your time.

So I look at this two ways.

One: - She seemed to genuinely like you. - An obstacle was in the way of you getting what you want. - You tried to battle toe to toe, and do the logical thing ie. Remove the friend by telling you’re date. No biggie that’s what most people would do. And of course now the date is gonna pick her friend over some guy she just met.

Two:

You didn’t have to go toe to toe like that. Of course the friends gonna win. The friend will most likely always win unless the date is hyping you up to her friend.

After about 30 minutes and 2 drinks I step away to use the restroom.

When I come back there's another woman in my seat. It's a friend that happened to have stopped in same place by chance and they started chatting......

This morning date girl sent me a message about how it was "weak of you to walk off pouting. I wish you would have stayed because I had fun!"

A lot of what I would say has already been covered.

But suffice to say, this situation was a shit show. Date Girl showed who she was. Like you had just met and she let someone horn in on the date.

She didn't enforce her own boundaries. And she gaslit you after the fact too, telling you that you were pouty.

She basically ignored you for the last chunk of the date. Your reaction was understandable.

Where I would elaborate beyond what most of the thread was hitting on, is this: there's a difference between looking for casual sex and looking for a serious relationship.

And depending on what you're looking for, my feedback is different.

A.) If you were looking for a relationship, that girl flashed so many red flags and disqualified herself hard. Leaving early was fine in this scenario.

B.) If you were only looking for casual sex, you probably had a way in, though it required finding your own fun in the bar.

That would have been the time to politely excuse yourself. Say something about letting them catch up.
Step away and chat up the bar staff. Just to warm up and get back into a better head space.
If there were any activities in that venue, that would be the time to chat other people up and join in. Like darts or pool. Invite the girls, even if you know the answer would be no.
The key here is that mingling would provide you an opportunity to meet people and get some good energy going. Then you could still have a good time with or without her. Sometimes new options have a way of presenting themselves in this kind of situation
Maybe you would still have ended up ditching the bar and the girl. What she did was in pretty bad form. But mingling and doing your own thing could have been a good way to wait it out until she lost her friend.

And then, make no mistake, a potential one night stand was the furthest it ought to have gone when that's the way she treats people.

Small point of order: a bitch shield is when a girl is defensive or stonewalling attempts to interact with her, by being mean.

This situation was more of a cockblock.
