If the government passed a law saying all premarital sex had to be prostitution (even for only a small $ amount), I think men would lose all interest in it

Let’s say hypothetically, the government said that all premarital sex had to take the form of prostitution. The woman has to charge the man money, even a small amount like $10 or $20.

Even though that’s not a lot of money, I think men would instantly lose interest in sex if that were the case. What men really want out of sex isn’t so much physical pleasure as it is validation and social status.

It’s possible that women might charge the minimum amount and say they’ll hand it back if they really like a guy, but the woman might be a scammer who never gives it back - and the woman might be reluctant to offer this as the man could report it to the government, meaning she wouldn’t bring it up in the first place.

If this hypothetical law was passed, many women would only do it for the money and sex would no longer be seen as an achievement by men.

Of course, I’m leaving married sex out of it as married couples often have sex to have children, regardless of pleasure or social status.

Overall, I think this shows that sex is more about validation than pleasure for men.

And, I’m moreso bringing this up as a thought experiment than necessarily advocating for it.
