I often see people in online discussions say this kind of stuff when the subject of therapy comes up. Therapy is a scam/therapy doesn't work/therapy doesn't work for men/therapy is too expensive etc.

Now, I am not a believer in the miraculous effect of therapy either. Therapy can be hard to get, and it's not a magic fix that instantly makes brain problems go away for people. However, many people DO report feeling and doing better after going to therapy, so I think it's at least worth a shot for people who are struggling in life in some form, be it in dating or other avenues.

So this question is mostly for those who espouse that therapy is a complete scam, doesn't work, doesn't work for men etc. in retaliation to the suggestions that men who struggle with dating should see a therapist to get over their fear of rejection, insecurities, social awrygoings and so on, but also believe that 'society doesn't give a crap about men' and that society should do more to help struggling men. What alternative for therapy do you think society should provide? What should someone who suffers from severe mental health problems like depression, bipolar, schizophrenia etc do? If your response is 'go to the gym' do you think a free gym membership for men with mental problems would do the trick?
