Imagine being a generic Redditor and thinking you can interpret data better than actual fucking scientists.

You're not getting the same results because you're dumb and you looked at the entire 18-44 age range. The study was not dumb and separated the data into 18-24(35% M, 20% W), 25-34(13% M, 12% W) and 35-44(6% M, 5% W) age ranges.

You know, since the entire idea is that this is something that only appeared recently, and so it will only affect young people?

What do you mean raw? GSS sampling is stratified. Raw data analysis is completely wrong and you must apply sampling weights. See the GSS data documentation.

The numbers dont add to 100 and with 30% of the responses being not applicable I dont think we can draw much from this data.

Its hard for me to tell if young men are fucking less or more than in the past since I only turned 18 in 2015.

I do know alot of guys who struggle though.

These are aggregate data for men 18-44. The issue is that young men are becoming increasing sexless (18-24), while the sexlessness of young women has only increased very slightly.

How is this even still a debate. Anybody who has lived more than 20 years on earth knows how the sexual market place works:

Average looking to above women looking women, and Chad can fuck more than they’d ever even have time for if they so choose.

Below average women can still get sex easily but can’t be too choosy about it.

Then you have average men who spend their life’s like Hyenas or Vultures opportunistically picking up on scraps when they are “lucky”

At the very bottom are the disfigured, infirm and very old. They are basically non sexual beings.

Despite what incels say, they generally do not belong to this group.

You can see the “wealth disparity” in that a large percentage of women can get sex (and by extension more “shots on goal” for a relationship to develop) far, far more than average men can.

This is one study against a plethora of others that shows men increasingly not having any sex. Until more studies come out that invalidates this trend, this one outlier study isn’t enough to convince me that this trend isn’t happening.

Isn't the gap between (young) male and female sexlessness one of the things people bring up about this topic? That still appears in your analysis.

According to the plot, male sexlessness went from below 5% to above 20% in one or two years, with a similar shifted rise for women (in fact, it looks like the data show nearly 0% of women surveyed had no sex in 2012). All of this seems strange. However, I am not going to do the analysis myself, so good on you for exploring. I'm just taking note of things not questioning your work.

Just curious: what would lead to a "Not applicable" response?

The what now? Obviously such assumptions have to be made to obtain the sought for result. It's useless like most social sciences junk studies.

First of all, you would have to be sure that men and women are not lying in their self-reported numbers of sex partners when you know damn well that men will exaggerate upwards and women downwards.

Second, having sex, even when it does happen for men, is not equivalent to having a relationship. Tons of men use escorts and some have friends with benefits.

It's definitely way easier for guys to get laid now that there are dating apps. That has been a total game changer in favour of men and to the detriment of women. What I mean by that is women are getting ran through by lots of guys and then disappointed they can't seem to lock any of the guys banging them down. And the guys aren't getting locked down because they know there's another different broad to easily score next week, and no one girl is more attractive than a variety of girls, which didn't used to be so easily achievable, but now is. When women play harder to get, they encourage more commitment from men. This is why everyone got married in the 50s by default, because the women were slut shamed and this made them very very difficult to get in the sack. The men did what they had to do to get the sex, and so marriage it was. Banging a variety of whores wasn't an option, and men were happy to get one woman to have sex with.

Now men can openly pursue casual sex with lots of women, and women give it to them, merely hoping maybe they'll persuade them into commitment if they fuck and suck good enough. Sometimes it works. For guys who have it really really easy on dating apps, however, it does not. Basically the more appealing the guy you're hooking up with is, the less likely he will be interested in anything serious.

HOWEVER, it needs to be understood the unfuckables and are still going without, and a huge percentage of women are still for the most part sharing a relatively small percentage of men. Men have more power than ever in dating, more opportunity to have more sex with more women, and then conversely have less power than ever in long term relationships. So the motivation to stay single is pretty high for guys right now. If women want to claw power back they'd have to stop being such huge whores, basically. The feminist movement to abolish slut shaming and empower women to be more promiscuous has really backfired badly for women, a very short sighted and poorly thought out endeavor.

They still hold the key as they should but their power over it has never been more precarious. A lot of women are out there "losing" the game every week.
