It's none of my business if he sees prostitutes and if he did I'd prefer not to know about it.

If he sees them regularly I'd find that cause for concern because a young guy paying for hookers all the time instead of pursuing, dating and hooking up with peers speaks to some social maladjustment. I'd rather have a social normie son who's going to give me grandkids at some point.

If he brought one home I would not be happy at all. I don't want a hooker in my house I don't want one in my family and again it speaks to some kind of social maladjustment that he'd even think that was an okay or normal thing to do.

Edit: I see what you're doing here. If my son was dating a girl who he was dropping tons of money on and all she gave him in return was sex I'd tell him to dump her and I wouldn't be happy about him bringing her around either (though I still don't think it's as bad as bringing around a prostitute). I reject your premise that this is what all dating/marriage is.

There was a ‘hobbist’ forum online that I once read. They seemed weird, bitter and just plain sad. I got the sense that there was a reason why they turned to prostitutes over dating.

I would be concerned that my son was socially inept and where I went wrong for him to be that way.

And do customers bring prostitutes home to meet the parents? That would be all kinds of fucked up. Would she charge the same amount or less because it doesn’t involve sex?

I don't have kids yet but yes, I would have issues, because it's expensive and risky and not an investment. And if he felt he had to resort to seeing prostitutes to get either human/female interaction or sex, I would feel like I had failed at teaching him social skills and/or helping him become an interesting and engaging person.

IMO people who pay for prostitutes are almost always either desperate, lazy, and/or emotionally damaged, and I'd be upset about having a son with any of those qualities. Occasionally the motive is "I want to try out this unusual kink," and if that was the reason I guess I wouldn't feel so bad about it...but I also wouldn't want to know that much about unusual kinks my son might or might not have, so...

And I would hope that any son of mine would still treat a prostitute respectfully like a human being after purchasing her services and would be careful about avoiding legal/STD/pregnancy/reputation consequences, but if he was disrespectful or not careful I would have more issues with the situation.

Tl;dr I wouldn't be mad at my hypothetical son unless he was treating the prostitute like a subhuman or being careless but would feel like a failure as a parent regardless

I have a moral objection to sex having monetary value. It would worry me that he had to stoop so low to pay for sex. I would think there was something sincerely wrong with him that he couldn't get a woman to have sex with him of her own free will.

I would object. I would prefer all my adult children, regardless of their gender, to have a sexual experience because both parties are attracted to one another/like one another, than being intimate when one party isn’t attracted to the other.

It would cause me a problem. But obviously I'd at least try to raise my child in such a healthy mindset he would not need this service. Who am I kidding, even the perfect parent can't control everything.

Ultimately, I also want him to feel free to not tell me of his private life because it will be his problem to manage. So if I don't know it's even better.

I may have to intervene if lil' guy confesses to me he grew addicted to prostitution and it's affecting his finances or personal life.

Bringing a whore home as a date... Not too convinced though. I'd have to impose a background check... And that's if he told me. Surprising him unexpectedly with a partner I wasn't introduced to would raise questions and/or anger for sure.

Myself I've had someone coming at my place when I was younger, and boy did I freak out when this person straight up took a poppers bottle from their bag.

It would depend on the working conditions of the prostitutes involved. High-end escorts who are free business women, well, if he can afford her, that's his business. Trafficed women/girls or anyone otherwise coerced into prostitution, I would disown him at the least or possibly even just kill him (in a situation involving young children).

It would make me feel I have seriously failed as a parent, so I would most likely blame myself. If I had children, I would do my best to give them resources to become as successful as possible (social skills, confidence, work ethics, family values).
