Let me start by saying: While I hesitate to use the loaded word "feminist," I am undoubtedly an egalitarian.

That being said, I think the word rape is thrown around way too much.

Hear me out; I'm really glad that sexual assault is beginning to be discussed more openly and justice is being served more frequently. However, the definition of rape has become increasingly clouded. With slogans like "no does not mean convince me" and "only yes means yes," it would seem to me that unless both parties are constantly reaffirming their consent in explicit terms throughout the whole duration of the encounter, it could be considered rape.

I am a rape survivor. I was forcibly penetrated at gun point when I was 16 years old, and while it is certainly not my intent to victimize myself or attempt to gain pity, the experience was truly traumatizing and left me with many emotional as well as physical scars that I still deal with today. Perhaps it's my own personal baggage and sensitivities that make this such a frustrating topic for me, but I feel as though experiences like mine belong in a different category than girls who call themselves "rape survivors" after a one night stand forgot to ask "CAN I PUT MY PENIS INSIDE OF YOU"

Now I understand that consent is a confusing thing and people react to situations differently. And I really hope I'm not coming off as insensitive or like "my problems are worse." But if I were to go by the "tumblr" definition of rape, a good three quarters of my sexual encounters could technically be considered as such.

I am not shaming survivors and I'm not trying to invalidate anyone's trauma, but I feel as though rape has become too broad of a classification for a number of vastly different experiences.

I think women aren't really discriminated against much in the work force anymore (outside of isolated incidents). I think the wage gap is mostly due to taking time off and not negotiating well. I would argue that women need to learn to negotiate better, but that's on us, not "equality."

Also, I think someone in a monogamous relationship has some responsibility to have sex with their partner, even if they're not in the mood. Seems like dirty pool to expect faithfulness and yet be unapproachable.

That being said, here are my heterodox opinions of RP.

I think RP comes dangerously close to doing the same things they criticize SJWs for. Namely feels before reals, sacred cows, demonization of the opposite sex, and ends-justify-the-means ethics.
I think RPs want to believe AWALT, rather than it actually being true. Because if AWALT is true, female nature is a constant and men don't have any true moral responsibility over the women they're with. It's a copout used to justify keeping women at a distance.
I think "sexual strategy is amoral", is bullshit. All strategy of any kind carries with it a moral value because a strategy is intended to accomplish a long-term goal. Morals are basically meta-strategies for how we as humans pursue happiness. "Sexual strategy is morally agnostic" is much more accurate and closer to the meaning that RP uses the original phrase for: that sexual strategies should be judged by their ethical value, and their effectiveness. What the end goal of the sexual strategy is, be it spinning plates or finding true love, is up to the individual and the individual situation.
I think the goal of relationships is personality development, and as such, can be worthwhile to men. A good woman will make you a better man. A bad one will cause you nothing but grief. But if your only common link is sex, then there's no real growth, you're just using each other in the best case. Nothing wrong with that, but I think a lot of RP men ignore the potential value of romantic relationships.
I think Mark Manson is the best thinker when it comes to dating today. Many RP dismiss him as a milquetoast or purple-to-the-point-of-blue, but I think he has two key concepts to contribute that RP really ignores to their detriment. The first is neediness and how it affects a woman's perception of a man. You can take a guy who superficially is a total alpha, but give him needy behaviors or a needy worldview and watch as the only women that will want him will the ones only interested in the superficial. In that respect, RP is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy as it tells men to chase muscles and money and ignores the root cause of how they ended up in the betazone of despair. As a result, the unattractive beliefs and behaviors remain but the packaging gets a bit better.

The second is what Manson calls "vulnerability" which is the honest expression of your emotions to a woman. Many men equate this with pain and misery, often because they did it in a needy manner, or gave their vulnerability to the wrong woman - throwing pearls after swine. Trying to get a woman to have sex with you is asking her to be supremely vulnerable with you. So if you want that vulnerability from her, you ought to be prepared to meet her halfway. That means making a move, expressing yourself honestly, and maybe even going in direct. The key caveat is that this works when the woman is already invested and comfortable with you. Vulnerability, in a measured way is also how you polarize women into either liking you or revealing their honest intentions. Wondering if a girl sees you as just a friend? Give her a little dose of vulnerability. She'll either respond positively, or run away, and then you have your answer. And if you're not needy, the potential rejection won't bother you.

Lots of BP'ers say that a person's sexual past doesn't (or shouldn't) matter, and I don't agree with that. When I was single, I never would have dated a man with a high N-count. I think that people with high N-counts (both male and female) are less likely to be marriage-material. And if you want to get married, you shouldn't be having casual sex - it will waste your time, distract you from finding the person you want to marry, and make you less attractive to marriage-minded people.

I think it'd be surprisingly hard to get an unpopular opinion downvoted on TRP, provided it's presented in a reasonable manner and isn't a thinly-veiled shot at TRP itself. The analogy I always use is that you can say unpopular things in /r/baseball and not get destroyed for it, but your idea has to be presented reasonably and not just be a thinly-veiled accusation that baseball sucks.

There are a few RPW specific things that I don't agree with, or rather, that are missing. That needs further thought.

As for TRP in general, there ismate guarding. They condemn it wholesale, rather than acknowledging there are WORLDS of difference between a plate trying to play men off one another, and a committed wife/wife figure who has never given you trouble and someone is making a play for her. There are plenty of stories on MMSL forums about marriages who broke at the point where the husband was trying to be either super beta super trustful respectful and missed an opportunity to stop something, or following the extreme RP advice that you just stand there and let whatever happen to her because it is better to be always alpha than to give any hint that you give a fuck about someone actively trying to fuck her. I assumed those were good feminist traits, so that's how I identified. There was a TBP thread a while back that had my blood boiling. Something like "It's not actually that hard to get sex". If you're the sort of person it's hard for, then it's pretty fucking hard and the truth is that TRP would not exist if it was easy. I wasn't a virgin until 23 because I wanted to be, and a guy who is a little socially awkward and who doesn't understand the difference between when women flirt and when they talk is screwed over in these matters. And the fact that most women are completely unclear about flirting doesn't help at all. The whole societal thing of "Men are judged by the amount they sleep with" and "It can be hard for a man to get laid" avoids most TBP posters.

As a bloop, I still think that women (in general) have a much higher advantage in the SM, RM worlds. I also think that causal sex, in general, isn't a great idea for either sex, although I don't judge people who engage in that behavior (as long as they aren't actively trying to use people).

I also think that certain family laws, particularly child custody, are biased against men. I can emphasize with some of the men struggling with women who maybe go about it the wrong way, but don't feel they have a lot of options.

I don't know that these would all be ideas that would be "ripped to shreds" on TBP, but probably disfavored.

I don't respect all of the Endorsed/Vanguard guys. There are some guys like RedPillSchool, Cyralea, Archwinger, GayLubeOil, etc who sound like pretty smart and level-headed dudes. Guys who live a life worth respecting and emulating.

Then there is the other type of EC, the kind of guy who you can just tell by reading his posts that he's completely fucked up in the head. For example one of the ECs is a divorced 60-yo dude who constantly writes up screeds on the Illuminati and Jews, probably cause he has nothing else going on in his life. There's a vanguard who used to mod r/the_donald, and when he was kicked out in inter-mod drama, lost his marbles and acted like someone shot his mother. I could vividly visualize his fingers gripping around the mouse in impotent rage as he clattered out bolded/all-caps posts about how unfair it was and how they would regret this.

These guys give TRP a bad name and I think any EC who doesn't come across as level-headed and intelligent should be pruned. It's like having an army in which some of the senior officers are drunk buffoons. It's not becoming.

TBP should focus more on doing take downs of RP science. there are other groups doing that now, but its some thing that BP should have been doing day one. Coming to make PPD and making moral or emotional arguments. TBF this doesn't happen as much as it used to but its still annoying. the lack of acknowledgment a growing misanthropy toward men that will backlash and look a lot like TRP (though i it may have peaked or be close i do see a lot backlash). Well, I remember having been downvoted for two specific comments of mine.

in a discussion regarding circumcision (both sorts), I objected that FGM (disregarding type I) is still a lot worse than male circumcision. It was in some lower comment chain and all the guys arguing there have been pretty adamant about male circumcision being the worst thing ever, so this might not be representative.
and once I called the TRP community at large out on being far too gullible when it came to believing outrage porn found on the internet, specifically on reddit (and more specifically /r/relationships)

But generally I'm pretty good at conveying positions outside the TRP mainstream and still get a postive voting ratio.

Primarily, their indifference to an alternate dating strategy for men and lack of pity for men struggling in relationships.

Their seeming refusal to acknowledge women's advantage in the dating market, even when taking into account women's preference for relationships.

An occasional lack of curiosity from BP about sexual market dynamics and sense that only a single viewpoint may be permitted, at the cost of free exploration.

One thing that I'm sure would be downvoted is that I don't believe that "all women are like that". Do I think that all women will divorce rape men, even if the men are beta? no, not really.

However, I believe that getting married or committing is the stupidest thing a man could possibly do. Some women may not be bitches, but that's a very very big risk you are taking. The reward of the risk, that is, the possibility of finding a good woman, is great, but it's dwarfed by the risk of her not being a good woman. The concept of "all women are like that" is a pre-emptive one in my mind. Assume that all women are bitches, assume that they will rob you, take you kids, and make you miserable. Be prepared for it. But as I said, it is important to know that not all women are like that. Some, and possibly most, women are great, the fact that all of them have the power to take everything away from you, and the fact that most of them don't fight to equalize the state of divorce law, just means you have to paint them all in the same brush, if only to protect yourself.

Promiscuity definitely reduces women's ability to pair-bond but it also does the same to men in the long run.

The vast majority of families I have encountered the children look like the father even when the father is a "beta" dweeb. bitchiness/bitchface/hostility seems to be a strictly north american club scene phenomenon or a surefire sign you're dealing with a woman who has seen a lot of cock in her life. Most women IME are quite friendly even when they dont really want to talk to you, because its social faux pas to be hostile to strangers and women are hypersensitive about social matters.
alpha/beta/omega/what the fuck ever categorizations are less useful than TRP thinks, and most of the time just ends up being worse than useless mindwank from people who are trying to circle the wagons on some cognitive dissonance they are having.
there is a small but vocal subset of goofy nihilist spergs on TRP that are advocating a world they would not last a minute in. Give it a break ffs, nobody is impressed that you took ragnar redbeard seriously.

I spend as little time as possible reading TRP lately. Ive said elsewhere on there that anything of value was already written and TRP has mostly survived on nerds regurgitating the same shit and looking for validation for years now. My experience has been that while there is absolutely truth in TRP, a lot of it is grossly exaggerated (the aforementioned posers) and applied in the wrong context.
