In the past few years there’s been a push to break down society’s gender roles, which has led to more men becoming feminine. It was started by millennials and has been taken to new heights by gen z with the growing obsession with e-boys, femboys, and guys with the k pop aesthetic.

This would be fine if it was done in truly unselfish good faith and if it had an actual benefit for men and society. Unfortunately it doesn’t and it’s very selfish when you consider the potential consequences.

When I hear women talk about feminine men it’s never in a relationship sense. It usually has to do with how they make life easier for women on a day to day basis. They’re thought to be easier to reject, make better friends, and are more in line politically. From what I’ve witnessed these men take rejection no better than masculine men and can even be worse at it. The only times they make good friends are when they revert back to the masculine roles of a platonic friendship. The political aspect is true but the US is bipartisan so there aren’t many choices. Many view these men as purely friends and will have no problem with a masculine Man stepping up and marrying her.

This would be perfectly fine if there were no negatives from a societal standpoint, however this isn’t the case. The cost of living is rising and the marriage rate is dropping. Women aren’t getting married and most don’t make enough to live comfortably on their own until retirement. Despite what many modern women say they have no problem with a masculine, providing man that allows her to be a SAHM. This isn’t realistic for most people but the worst thing we could do as a society is sending mixed signals to young, impressionable men about what they should or shouldn’t be. This is true especially if the people pushing the message have no interest in marrying them.

Do you think that feminizing men is a good thing? Why do you think they’re being feminized? What affect do you think it will have on society in the coming years ?
