This is why you never listen to anyone who says "guys don't care about a girls degree / career". Oh yes they do, HVM respect it and it also helps keep away abusers because education = freedom and independence.
I feel so sorry for all the tradwives and pickmes who fall into this dynamic by putting men first before themselves. It only ever leads to regret. I have never met a single woman in all my life who regretted getting a degree.

This is my extended families to the tee. Whenever I achieve something it is always "What use are higher education for girls? They always end up in the kitchen anyway" and instead of congratulating me, they just belittle me for not knowing how to cook. But treat my brother like he is the savior to mankind even though we literally got the same results. Guess who is the more stable one now and who got up to all sorts of trouble because he thinks he is the shit? Hah.

That's why I cut everyone (except my parents) out of my life. :)

Unfortunately my mother still loves her side of the family even though almost all of them are a total POS - and I love my mother so I still have to meet them on holidays, but I mostly grey rock. And won't pick up if they call. And don't have a problem being the rude ass b**** when they tryna start shit with me, ha. And the best they can do is ostracize me - which I welcome with all my heart because that's literally what I want.
[–]Express_Chocolate_60FDS Newbie15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Ugh, it your story hits so close at home. I don't really have the guts to ignore their calls, but maybe someday I will.
I dislike my other relatives because they're always... idk how to say... unstable, I guess? They talk shit, fight, get back together, all giddy and happy and then ...the cycle repeats. It annoys the crap out of me because personally I can't hate someone now and then pretend that I'm happy seeing them. It really sucks.
[–]SayNadFDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It is easier for me because they only call when they want something/trying to use me for something (like showing off to neighbors using me because their damn lazy ass kids failed the exams) so I just ended the call immediately after I heard their voice. And they'll complain to my mother, my mother will tell me and I simply say "Tell her to go to hell" because my mother knows I am truly, extremely, 100% done with those people.
And my father hates them too so he won't reprimand me or anything. They talk shit about me, calling me names etc. to my mother but my mom is the soft kind, and I am pretty scary when I am angry so yeah - poor my mom, but I absolutely hate their guts and only willing to attend their funerals, so that's just how it is. Haha.
I guess you just have to wait - I am already nearing 30 and I just don't have the patience to deal with bullshit anymore so I snapped. You will get there someday, probably.

Keep doing you girl! They'll eventually get the memo when they see all your successes.
[–]SayNadFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's east asian culture for you. The belief that "women belongs in the kitchen" is still so pervasive - no matter how high your career and education level are, it is still about how well you cook and take care of the house/family. I've seen professors and surgeons on facebook talking about "Even though I have high career, I never forget to cook and take care of my kids!" etc.
I got called "not normal" for having no desire to get married at my age multiple times.
Thank you so much sis! Honestly I don't really think they will get the memo - probably just gonna keep trying to gaslight me about "how sad and lonely I am despite all the money" and "you will die alone without kids taking care of you" and blah blah blah and tryna "introduce me a great man" aka somebody they can influence so they can get a hand on my money.
So I honestly just rather they think I am poor and struggling or just not worth bothering because I just want to live my life peacefully - they are so fucking toxic and I am just so soooo done with those people.
I am just waiting for the day when I can finally, finally cut all ties with them cleanly and as they say - "go die alone rotten in a ditch somewhere". That is honestly preferable than seeing their fucking faces again.

Thank you for your kind words, but what I mean "stable" means - I currently working minimum wage because I have no money to deal with interviews and apparently you have to have a car to get a job nowadays, for whatever reason. Currently being that "the smartest kid in class who can't get a decent job" state. But I am writing my novels and figuring out business (albeit very very slowly because I am so lazy like whyyyy) so yeah, I am holding up I guess.
Honestly I really don't want to pursue the career ladder like what people are expecting of me - having a master and all. I love researching but God dammit I don't want to work in the field - too much KPIs and politics, not enough research.

I've seen that sentiment pushed on dating blogs/youtube channels (run by women!) as if a woman getting an education is a bad thing.
Like huh? If the guy you're seeing doesn't care about education the same way you do, then that is a compatibility issue and leave them. Don't be uneducated or dumb yourself down to just "get a man".
[–]LevelupmamaFDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ironically as someone with multiple degrees, I hadn’t take my education seriously until I had a child and became single at the same time lol I saw it as a way to provide for my child. Wish I’d been on my FDS from the beginning, but no regrets I guess. I’d always wanted a man to take care of me and “fix my traumas”, but look where that’s gotten me lol
Also when they mention education being put down culturally, I was listening to someone say JW shame education, and I’ve seen it with the family I used to be around. The girls were lucky to get trade degrees. It’s wild. It created a cycle of dependence on men who can do what they want, esp once kids are involved.

This really makes me think of Al Pacino's speech in the movie Devil's Advocate:
Who are you carrying all those bricks for anyway?
God? Is that it?
God? Well, I tell ya, let me give you a little inside information about God.
God likes to watch. He’s a prankster. Think about it.
He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift and then what does He do?I swear, for his own amusement, his own private cosmic gag reel, he sets the rules in opposition.
It’s the goof of all time.Look, but don’t touch.Touch, but don’t taste.Taste, don’t swallow.\laughter**
And while you’re jumping from one foot to the next, what is He doing?
He’s laughing his sick, fucking ass off.
He’s a tight-ass! He’s a sadist!!
Just replace ''God'' with ''manipulative man/men''. That's what they do, they set the rules in opposition, and while you're ''jumping from one foot to the next", they are laughing at you, and milking you for all you've got.

I'm honestly not sure. In the eyes of these dudes, I suppose so. Yet in all the relationships I know of with what society would deem a gold digger/gold mine dynamic, there's close to an even balance of power. Or actually tips over into the woman holding more power. I guess because it is a business relationship in a way. And these are usually women who are successful in conventional business; own thriving independant stores, real estate brokers, etc.

Anyone who chooses to write about money with a font like that has negative net worth.
I sometimes wonder, how dumb are redpillers? They go to communities filled with loser men, they know these subs are filled with unsuccessful men, that is why they are all there. They cry "woe is men" by going on and on about male homelessness, suicide, prison rape, while they do NOTHING about it. Some loser on the internet cries woe is men, the other losers engage in a circle jerk. A few days to a few weeks later, the same loser OP who was crying woe is men, is now a chad spinning plates. Sure buddy, sure. The lies are too grandiose and too ridiculous to be believed.
It's like grown ass men telling each other they are Batman, and because they all have the same mental illness, they all think they're Batman too. OR they think they will MAGICALLY TRANSFORM into Batman when they hit their peak, sometime after age 35, between age 40-60.

I legitimately once saw a thread on there about how male sperm ends up in a woman’s brain after sex and that this is why women who have had multiple partners can’t bond anymore because they “hold” the “life force” of other men or something ridiculous like that.
I was so shocked at the comments supporting the idea so I read the study and it was about how PREGNANT women can have traces of their unborn SON’s dna in other places in their body outside of the uterus/fetus.
How anyone could read that and twist it to meaning that men’s sperm just hangs out everywhere in a woman’s body after sex indefinitely and has some sort of eternal emotional effect on her is beyond me and definitely opened my eyes to the ridiculousness of purplepill debate.
[–]ivy176FDS Disciple12 points13 points14 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh they love to use "studies" including old ok cupid data. Just yesterday I had ones arguing with me that they know more about risks of chromosome issues and health issues of offspring based on paternal age because they read Wikipedia and becaise their endocrinologist wasn't aware of a particular test in relation to his testosterone therapy. It's like no shit your doctor won't be up to speed on that because mens testosterone declines with age and they don't view replacing it as safe or warranted unless you were deficient to the point of losing functions at a younger age like you had to get both testicles removed or had a severe endocrine disorder etc. But a bunch of these guys are just taking testosterone with or without a doctors input in late 20s and 30s and then saying we hit the wall at 30
Then they demand a study off me to "prove" any of my points and I have to deal with research, performing systematic reviews and statistics for work so there's no way I'm going to do a mini essay to spoon feed them info that they don't want to know. But they think you can prove things by pasting one abstract or wiki.

Losers hang with losers, in my experience. This is true across the board, way beyond RP. There's a Jim Rohn quote I heard years ago that haunted me: "You're the average of the five people you hang out with the most." That was the fire I needed under my ass to reevaluate my relationships. I realized the reason I'd struggled for years was because, frankly, I was surrounded by losers and lunatics, and I had chosen them. That was when I got into therapy.
I had a friend go to rehab years ago. He graduated and went on to better things. I asked him about it. He said he got into rehab because he was tired of living like a bum and hanging out with other bums, and then he went to rehab and quickly saw who was likely to succeed at recovery and who wasn't because rehab is (he said) full of people who like to make excuses. He was haunted by the idea of being like those people or dropping out and having to come back later and do this all over again, so he kept his head down and did the work.
This level of self-awareness is, I think, rare. People would rather hang out with other people at their level and complain about their problems so they don't have to do the work to level up. Sad but true.
[–]thowawaywookieFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is an excellent message.
You see certain people that always have problems. Drugs, in and out of jail, unemployed, etc. There friends and even sometimes family and small neighbourhoods will be the same. I'm not sure, but I heard that rehab encourages them to get rid of their old friend group. That all tiesinto the 5 friends you hang out with. It'd be near impossible not to be influenced by those you're around the most.

My ex husband was on red pill and was morbidly obese, man boobs (like a very severe medical case of gynecomastia even without the obesity), rotted teeth, poor hygiene, neckbeard and very straggly and long, balding, unemployed for 5 years with me supporting him, did no house work and was verbally and physically abusive (pushing, punching, I'm talking the works). He didnt say much about himself on there, said I was awful though, that I emasculate him by asking him to do ALL the housework.. he was unemployed and Id just ask him to do the dishes and feed the dog while I was gone sonetimes for 24 hrs (healthcare). And then saud I cheated when I broke up with him and started dating someone. How's it cheating if we're broken up? And said I initiated all domestic violence and any injuries were from me throwing myself and he only ever acted in self defence. Yea what an ALpHa

Yeah, only way he could go even more negative value was by murdering someone or something
The only red flags for many years were just being a bit lazy (getting focused on something that was a passion and that he wanted to make a career from and forgetting some other things). But at the start he was working and acted normal, just wasn't a super clean person (but people are always like well that's men har har har), and that he could be a bit inconsiderate at times where I had to remind him why it's important to do something. Then he'd apologize etc. So as a 17 year old, I didn't see a huge issue and figured we were growing together, both young blah blah.
And guys on here say shit like it's my fault because I must have ignored major signs, as if people can't severely deteriorate over a decade lol. Seems they firget that people change and can get 90% worse. But if someone came on reddit and said "I'm thinking of divorcing my husband becaise I have a feeling he might become a raging wife beater in 10 years time, because I do more housework than him and he gets too caught up in a business he's dreaming of getting successful with", well you know they'd all be like YTA and that makes no sense.

And this is why I refuse to date anyone much higher than my own tax bracket or be a SAHM. I have before dated much higher and they generally treat you like shit for it. They act like they own you. I've had a few guys offer for me to quit my job and be a housewife. Hell to the no. I've had them disparage my career and status. I'm a chef. It's a heavily male dominated industry that I fought upstream, tooth and nail, for over a decade to become. I fought for my status, preferred hours, and salary. I'm not quitting any time soon and definitely not quitting so I can be under some dude's thumb.
Money is power, and I refuse to have any type of power imbalance in my partnership. I refuse to give up my power. The book "why men love bitches" has sound advice, especially in the financial chapter. It was a life saver for me.

I can't imagine what married women had to endure before the 70s. The first domestic violence shelter didn't open in the US until 1978. Women couldn't open their own lines of credit before the 70s. If a man was beating you, you had nowhere to go.
An elderly family friend told me the abuse women endured in her generation. It was considered normal. Nothing sets her off more than younger women who don't appreciate feminism. Seriously, it makes her irate.
[–]helppleasekkFDS Newbie42 points43 points44 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I worked in assisted living and pretty much all the elderly women I cared for had been abused by their husbands. I'll never forget the one lady who lived in the facility with her nasty ass husband. She had dementia and he didn't but he was the one spitting on people and growling like an idiot. He'd make her go everywhere with him and he'd tell her to walk behind him because she's not good enough to walk beside him. He died a couple years before her, but her death was slow and sad. Her dementia got so bad that every time we went to change her protective undies she'd scream and cry as if she were being raped. By the end she was completely inconsolable.
She had a bunch of sons and they'd very rarely visit her or take her out, and one time one of them took her to Walmart, we made sure to let him know that she needed new shoes because all of hers were too tight. She came back with a bag of m&ms and no shoes. The only people that visited her while she was dying was her son's wives.
I was fortunate to meet a lot of really cool and interesting elderly women. My favorite was this little lady who lived to 100 years old, her first husband was abusive and when she had her first baby, her husband left her at the hospital and made her find her own way home because the baby was a girl. She had a couple more children with him and then divorced. He had been physically abusive to her. In her 60's she met a younger man (she called herself a cradle robber lol) who treated her like a queen. When he died he had left her enough money to be able to live in an assisted living facility for the rest of her life.
I hated working as a caregiver, the work alone was stressful as fuck but the things you learn about people really stick with you

Yeah this sucks. I hate when women cry when they’re being changed. It makes me feel so guilty. I had a guy who’s wife had dementia who would pay a volunteer for blow jobs and talk to his wife like she was some kind of strange puppy. Like “hi princess. Say good morning” it was funny bc when she would see her husband with that lady she would grunt and her eyes would change, even though she didn’t speak or appear to know what was going on.

She'll be his 3rd and he won't divorce me because then he'll have no excuse.....

Men trying to teach other men how to abuse and manipulate women? Great. Why are they always trying to dehumanize/demoralize us? It's sickening and makes me want to throw up. Men like this shouldn't have any access to women at all. Honestly just throw these scrotes in prison, for all I care.

LOL Crush her self esteem then sit back and reap the "benefits" of ............? Catching a domestic violence case most likely. This approach of conquering someone is a sad, dysfunctional race to the grave.

I wanted to be a housewife, and my husband wanted a housewife. I didn’t want to wind up stuck, so I made sure my name was on everything from the house deed to car titles to all bank accounts. My husband used to brag about that to people - that I was no dummy and I made sure I had myself sitting pretty financially.

I tend to stick to blue collar men and this is one reason. Another reason is they can be more down to earth. They can even have better assets and overall financial position that some guy on 200k a year who blows all his money on a crazy expensive rental, really expensive cars and other depreciating junk
[–]ArcaiiFDS Newbie6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Really? I stay the fuck away from them. I used to be blue collar. Most of the men I met were toxic psychopaths and drunks.

I guess it depends on the industries as well. I work in healthcare so most men I'm talking about are health and community care.
I find some white collar to be really out of touch and the class system is alive and well here in Australia. I just can't stomach it, we have big yuppie culture. But again can depend on industries and certain personality types. But we have loads of people here who will think you're trash for living in outer suburbs and all they talk about is travel, really expensive restaurants, wine and the young ones (men and women) go on and on about casual dating and casual sex. I used to work in an area that was really expensive and I couldn't stomach the conversations of the clients anymore - or the tall poppy syndrome or the money obsession or racism

Seriously is anyone going to build a mental health centre slash jail to house these emotionally damaged men?
He's an abuser. Can we please doxx these guys? Nobody that stupid should be allowed to walk around untreated. At least the authorities would know of his intentions.
Still it is confirmation that you can never rely on a man's support. Always have your own money. Money he knows nothing about. Once you know how damaged and dangerous men are you will cease to rely on them for anything. By all means prioritise a high earner because some men want to be providers but always be prepared that they might have untreated psychological issues that causes them to let you know they could leave you any moment with nothing then milk the power.

Nice try a-hole (not OP - the guy who's 'adivising' his fellas). This would only work on someone who doesn't have self-respect. A good woman will only put up with so much, before she decides 'enough' and leaves your sorry behind.
And if you're not with a good woman - it's only a matter of time before she leaves you for someone who has "more" than you do.

Or, you can, stay with me now, give her great sex and a wonderful friendship where nobody can even hope to possibly compete and she wants nothing more than to make you happy because you’re worth it. Just an idea.

I could never be with a guy who doesn't care about my goals and ambitions and wants me to sit home like some accessory - no matter how rich/kind/great he is. It just shows he doesn't really have any respect for your wants and needs.

The majority of men trying to do this don't actually make enough money/are financially responsible enough to do it either. So it's just a bunch of jerks being jerks.

I honestly feel like this post is more of a male fantasy than anything. I’ve never encountered a male who wasn’t greedy and stingy af with their money, if they had any to begin with. They are mostly broke and unwilling to pay for a goddamn thing. They want to believe if they pay for things women will jump on their dick even if they are assholes.

👏👏👏Congrats on getting where you are! Seriously, more women need to wake up and realize this. Never fall into their trap!
